Moving Day
Masks: Moving Day
"Oh Pyre, must you leave today? The attack won't happen for two more weeks. Please don't leave me!" Pepper cries out and hangs onto Pyre as Pyre tries to pack for Beloit.
"Yes, Pyre has to leave tonight. She needs to be at a place safer than there. With the fact that a Sabbat attack could happen any day now, she needs to be out of harms way." Pyre continues to pack, not listening to either of them. She does not want to leave the only home that she has ever known. And the only place that Alexander would ever think to look for her. If she were not here, would Alexander forget about her?
"But I don't want her to go!!" Pepper cries, tears falling down her face. "Pyre should stay here," she proclaims and nods her head twice. She then hugs Pyre so tightly that she knocks the clothes out of Pyre's hands. She sniffles at Pyre's non-response at her tears. "Do you not care?"
Pyre sighs and stops for a second looking by where Pepper is. "Pepper, I have to go. Lars says that it is safer up in Beloit. Besides, Lars needs you here." Lars nods a yes and Pepper just gives her an even bigger hug, running from the room afterwards.
Lars watches Peppers leave as Pyre continues packing, not saying a word. "I'll go after her," he says softly and gives his childe a concerned look. She doesneveneven give a shrug but as soon as Lars leaves she sits down on the bed hard. Her body shivers as she cries but then she is pulled into a warm hug.
"Now, why are you crying beautiful? Or have you missed me so much that you must cry?" Alexander asks softly and soothingly, as Pyre's crying stops. She hugs him back tightly as he strokes her hair.
"Lars is making me leave," she replies softly. "And with leaving, I thought that you would forget about me."
"Oh Pyre, I can never forget you. And I had the same fear...but that you would forget me. I have been gone too long..." He says, his voice trailing off as he holds Pyre close to him. "As much as I don't want you to go, you have to leave Pyre. There will be a great war here and you must go."
Her face shows confusion at what he has just said. "You want me to leave as well?" He gives no answer and she moves out of his embrace. "A long time ago, you said that you would come back for me. And I thought that...that you would want me to come with you. Why? Why are you here then? To torment me with a memory of love? I thought only Lars could do such trickery. But now I see that it did go to you as well!" And she slams her suitcase close as tears flow down Alexander's face.
"Jessica, it is nothing like that!!" He exclaims, standing up and going over close to her. "I am here becaus pac pack is going to be with the Sabbat who attack Chicago. And I wanted to make sure that you were either leaving already or I would have taken you to St. Louis. Beloit will be safer for you, my love," he says softly, stroking her cheek. He then softly kisses her, but approaching footsteps stop the tender moment.
"It's Lars," she says softly, noticing the way he walks. "Hide." And Alexander moves into the shadows, obfuscate covering what shadows do not. She starts to double-check everything as if nothing is wrong.
He watches her finish packing knowing that she knows he is there. He moves behind her and gently moves her hair away from her neck and shoulders. He grips her shoulders tightly so she cannot get away and puts his fangs at her neck. "Where is Alexander?"
"He...he left," she says as calmly as she can. "He is not here, sire. Now please let me go." Lars releases her as he turns on all the lights and the shadows disappear. He looks around one more time as Pyre leaves her haven for Beloit.
