It was all your fault?

Church knocked on Doc’s door in the morning. The medic was usually up with the rest of them, but not today. The blue waited, shrugged, and continued. If he wanted to sleep all day, he wasn’t gonna stop him. Besides, he had a pink private waiting for him outside.

Donut smiled when he saw Church. He noted with some surprise that Doc wasn’t with him, as Church said he probably would be. He didn’t mind terrible, though. He was just fine with Church.

They walked away from the base hand in hand. Donut’s face was brighter than his pink shirt as Church pulled him against his chest. Donut reached up to meet lips, eyes slowly falling closed.

“Church!”

He sighed and turned to see Caboose running towards them. “Church sir! D-doc…” Tears streamed down his face.

“Caboose? What’s wrong?”

The blue soldier stopped running, chest heaving with irregular breaths. “Please… help him.”

“He’s the medic. He can take care of himself.” Church turned back to Donut.

“He’s not breathing.”

Church looked at him, then back at Donut. Donut let go of his hand, and Church ran for the base. Donut tore after him, worried. But then he looked back at Caboose. The blue was on the ground, tears streaming from blue eyes. Donut slowly went back to him and knelt. He wrapped his arms around the larger man, Caboose turning into the embrace. They waited for Church.

The blue man was in the bathroom, kneeling by the toilet. He never thought he was queasy, but… sometimes it came up on him. For instance, now. He looked at his hands and nearly vomited again. Why had he touched Doc? Hoping he was alive? No, he wouldn’t think about that. Wouldn’t wonder why, why he would rather have nothing than what he had. There was no note, no letter, no explanation. There was nothing, nothing but blood. Church knew he had to clean it up before anyone else saw it. Caboose… Caboose had seen it. Church leaned over the toilet again, but there was nothing to get rid of anymore. He slowly made his way back to the medic’s room. He had to clean it up.

He tried not to look at the entire room as a whole. Concentrate on the blood, pretend it’s not his… it’s not his. Church realized he didn’t have anything to clean with. He grabbed the sheets. Some of them were clean… he wiped the floor, nothing rubbing off. How did he not notice this? Not notice that this was coming… why? Why would Doc…

His hand brushed Doc’s leg. Church just continued his futile wiping. Then he saw something. He didn’t think it meant anything at first, but… he was wiping along a very deliberate curve. He weakly stood and backed up to the doorway. He looked at the floor and wanted to vomit once more.

Doc had left something. Church was looking at the Greek letter Omega.
