Rescued at Last!
Keith was making his rounds when he heard a famliar but almost-forgotten sound. He looked up. Sure enough, there was a helicopter descending towards the base. He ran into the kitchen, where Skye was scrubbing the floor, and pulled her to her feet.
"The helicopter's here," He hugged her. "We should hide in case things get messy."
He led her to the supply closet he had hid in during his first expedition inside the base, and after shedding his uniform and putting his normal clothes back on he helped her climb onto the various ledges until they reached the rafters.
Keith watched, fascinated, as the law enforcers shot or arrested the bandits. He kept his arms tightly around Skye's waist, only partly concerned about her falling. When it looked like everything was safe, he helped Skye down from the ceiling and cautiously stepped into the hallway.
"Don't shoot!" He put his hands up. "We've been hostages here for the past week."
"Are you the ones that called us?"
"Yes, that was us." Keith nodded.
"Are you hurt?" The troopers lowered their guns.
"I'm not." Keith glanced over his shoulder at Skye. "I think she needs a doctor, but it's not urgent."
"We have a second helicopter on its way. We'll escort you back on that when it gets here."
