Chapter 7
Chapter 7
------------
Link felt his world take a funny tilt as he looked at the opened door. “Mother?”
“Come, its time to go.”
Her voice was so cold and hard. Link felt his shoulder slump. This was all he needed his mother hate and shame to add salt to the wound. He slowly followed her out of the room.
He was shocked when mother trap his arm in an iron grip.
“Hurry we don’t have much time.” She hissed as she dragged him out into the direction of the sables.
“Mother what are you doing? Lord Ganondorf chamber is the other way-”
-SMACK-
The slap rang out into the night. Link was in shock clutching his face. Sure his mother had disciplined him before but never had she slapped him.
“Listen to me pup I don’t ever want to you to call that bastard lord, prince or what ever other name you can come up with he is nothing but the scum that festers beneath the earth. Do you understand.”
“Yes but you didn’t have to slap me mama!” Link hissed back.
Nabooru could have sighed in relief. Her pup still had teeth. “Yes and I’m sorry but we need to hurry.”
“Hurry for what?”
“You’re going to escape.”
“What?!”
“Hush pup.” Nabooru hissed as she continued to guide her son.
Waiting for them at the stables was Nane at her feet were 4 heavy bags which she was strapping onto charcoal colored Epona. “Hurry boy. Change into these” she tossed him a green tunic with white leggings.
He quickly pulled on the Hyalian clothing.
“Hurry now we don’t have much time he be asking for you in a minute.” Nabooru hissed as she open the stall to let link guide the beast out.
Link quick whisper a few quite words to Epona and the house silently followed.
And as carefully as a thieves in the night. Link and his mother swiftly left the fortress.
It would be funny, Link though to himself, years later he would find the humor that his mother and himself were sneaking around like bandits trying to escape their own home, with a horse that was covered in black paint and packed like a mule and on his brides night.
Yes years later this would be funny if he could just survive tonight.
Link felt his heart lift with joy as he saw the bridge that would lead them out of the dessert and into Hyrule if they could cross that they would be safe and free to rule for daylight.
Suddenly whistles start blowing cutting throw the night.
“DAMN IT!! He knows. Run!” Nabooru almost yelled and started running for the bridge.
Link reached it before her and held out his hand to help her cross. “Hurry mother we don’t have much time.”
A painful sadness filled Nabooru eyes. “No you don’t have much time.” She slapped Epona hide making the give out a high whine. She crossed bridge and gallop into the night.
“Mother what are-”
She sighed and hugged her son tight to her. “May the gods keep you safe my son.” And she pushed him over the ledge and into the deadly river below.
*******
Link gritted his teeth as he felt the wind scream past his ears and push against his skin. Quickly twisting his body to into a dive he prayed that the force of the water would rip his body to shreds.
He gasp as the icy water shot a across his body, burning his skin. Forcing his body to relax he let the current drift him to shore.
Gasping and coughing, he dragged him self up thankful for mud that was his safe harbor.
“Mother” Link whimpered as he though about his mother. Had she been caught? Had gotten away? Was their lord-- no not a lord-- that monster torturing her? He buried his face in his arms. Not caring about being weak.
‘Lying here crying isn’t going to solve anything snap out of it!’ Link mentally slapped himself. He was still out in the open and that he needed to hide. How long would it take Ganondorf to form search part 1 maybe 2 hours if he was lucky. He had to move fast!
Quickly pulling off his back pack he made sure none of his good where damaged. His medicine and creams were still in-tacked, as were his dry goods, he purse was still filled to the brim with sparkling rupees.
Satisfied he pulled on his pack again, he needed to hurry.
A pain filled moan caught his attention has he as he started to clime out the muddy ditch.
‘Ignore it. It’s probably some drunk paying the piper.’ He though, as he continue forward. ‘But what if it wasn’t what if it was some poor soul that had fallen and broken something or worst?’
‘Not my problem.’ Link thought. ‘Not my pro-’ “May the gods be damned!” Link cursed. It sucked being a nice person.
Quickly sliding back down he started to look form where the moans were coming from.
“Stupid, stupid, stupid.” Link grumble. “I need to get away. I shouldn’t be playing medic to some, drunk, ungrateful, brat that won’t even- whoa!!” Link shook head.
‘What the hell!?’ Link turned around to glare at what ever had tripped him. And he felt her breath catch in his throat.
There lying on the muddy bank was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen.
A woman like he had never seen before, a Zoran. Her legs were long, her thighs thick and soft looking, Her waist was small and her tummy was flat with a small pouch soft with fat. Here breast were large and shapely and her arms long and elegant seem to be attached to beautiful silken blue and purple wings. Her lips were full and stained the most beautiful purple color, her cheek bones were high and her chin proud. Her nose was hooked down and her head was shaped oddly but all that just added to her beauty. She took his breath way.
She moaned. ‘So she was the one that was hurt.’ Link thought as he got closer to her. Placed a hand on her forehead to see if she had a fever.
‘Damn.’ He thought. She was burning up. He quickly reached for his pack to find something to reduce her fever when he noticed that her legs had come out in purple patches.
‘Isn’t their skin supposed to be blue?’ he thought.
Gently picking up her leg he notices that the patches were blistered covered rash.
She had been poisoned by the sun. And not only did it cover her legs, it covered her entire body.
Link sighed in relief this he could cure and be on his merry way with a few instructions.
Reaching over the still body Link reach for his pack only to be stopped by a soft gasped.
Quickly look down he was trapped by to floating gems. They sparkled like no of jewelry he had ever seen before. They were just so beautiful.
“PEVERT!!!!”
*-*SMACK!*-*
link felt his cheek burn as he stared disbelieving at the sick Zoran under him.
“What the hell did you do that for?!”
“Get off of me you sick pervert.” The Zoran screeched as he tried to beat him off of her.
Link rolled his eyes the dumb girl barely had enough strength to hold her head up and here she was trying to push a full grown man off of her, dumb brat.
“Listen.” Link said as he pinned her arms over her head. “I don’t have time for this so listen carefully. One, I’m not a pervert if I was I could have and would have don’t many unpleasant things to you right now. And two, your the one who’s sick all I’m trying to do is cure you.
So shut up and stay still.” Link growled out the last part. He was wasting valuable time.
“I can take care of myself.” The Zoran girl snapped back “Go away!”
“Not a chance.” Link said anger putting a slight edge in his voice as he continued to work on the girl ignoring her weak attempts to stop him. “Your about 6 minute away from being served with lemon sauce and side rice.”
“My father sent you, didn’t he? What ever he is paying you to hunt me down I’ll double it.”
Link looked up to see that the girl eyes were slightly wild and desperate. Taking pity link sighed and gentled his hands. “No one sent me. I’m not a tracker I’m a …wanderer and I just happen to be soooo lucky to have cross paths with you.”
“I see.” The girl said with a slight blush.
“And I’m done.” Link said as he wiped the last bit of salve on his own shirt. “Stay out of the sun and keep yourself cool. The slave I put on you will ease your ache and pains. Here are another two incase this happens again. Put the salve after you bathe and you be fine in about a week.” Link stood up to leave.
“Wait!!”
Link let a frustrated sigh and glared down and the aquatic girl.
“What! I’ve already done my good deed for the day?”
“If you’re a wanderer then take me with you.” She demanded as she clung to a piece of Links tunic.
Link felt his jaw drop as he just stared at her.
“Take me with you wanderer!” The girl demanded.
Link growled. “Take you with me are you insane?!”
“I’m perfectly sane and it was not a request I demand you take me wit you.”
Ripped the fabric of his tunic and watch as the Zoran topple back to the ground. “I’m not going to take you with me.” He growled back at her.
“Why not?” she growled back.
“WHY NOT! You’re too weak to even hold your head. Go home to your father, he must be worried.”
“I can’t go back!” she said almost in a panic.
“And why not?”
“My father is going to marry me off to a fish. I don’t care if he a great deity or not he’s still a gigantic, stinking fish!!”
Link link shook his head and wondered if the girl was starting to become delirious. “I’m sorry?”
“My father has arranged a marriage between me and the lord water deity Lord Jabu Jabu. But Lord Jabu Jabu is a giant fish not only is he a giant fish but he’s an old giant fish. I can’t face it.”
“That’s not my problem.”
“What?”
“Go home. I can’t help you anymore then I already have.”
“But I-“
“I can not take the extra charge; I’m sorry but-”
“SPREAD OUT AND SEARCH FOR CLUES! WE NEED TO KNOW WHERE HE’S HEADING!” A Sharpe female voice called out
“Damn it all to hell!” Link hissed and flatted himself to the. ground.
“What-.”
“SHHHHHH be quite. Do you want us to be found?!” hissed harshly at the Zoran and she flatten her body with his against the muddy ditches wall.
“Your running from those women aren’t you?” The Zoran smile knowingly at Link.
“Obviously, now keep quite.”
“I can help you. I’m a water sage I can put an illusion and hide us they won’t suspect a thing.”
Link felt his jaw clench. Why hadn’t the brat say anything earlier. “Then do it!” he snapped.
“On one condition you take me with you.” She smirked.
“No.”
“Then enjoy your last moments of freedom.”
“If they capture me they’ll kill you!” Link growled back hoping the threat will hold.
“Anything is better then being married to a giant fish.”
“LOOK BY THE RIVER BANK.”
‘Damn it their getting closer.’
“Well Mr. wanderer do we have a deal?” the Zoran asked as he held out her hand.
Link clenched his jaw so hard he could almost fell his teeth crack under the pressure. There was no other way out. “Fine.” Links snapped and grab the hand in a firm shake as he glared bitterly at it.
No matter how he looked at it he had gotten the shorter end of the stick.
