Evanescere
Albel liked thunderstorms. The more powerful the better it was and more Albel enjoyed the performance all around him. He could spent hours and hours just watching the lightings, listening the thunder and feeling the hard raindrops ravishing his skin, hair, eyes, mouth, what ever he was. He could never be angry when there was thunderstorm and what was most amusing in it was that he really could not explain even to himself *why* he was so fond of thunderstorms.
Albel never tried to talk about his favoritism towards those stormy days and nights to anyone. If his teachers asked about his favorite thing, Albel always snarled, hissed and left the class never giving any kind of answer. His behavior gave him the reputation of difficult student among teaching staff. If other students asked the same question than teachers, Albel always bad-mouthed, insulted and belittled them until they gave up and escaped away from his presence. His behavior gave him the reputation of antisocial and loner among student body.
Albel's parents never asked anything about his obsession. They allowed him to do as he wanted and for 15 years Albel disappeared into thunderstorm never telling where he was going and why. His mother and father never asked anything accepting that every person had their secrets which no one should pry upon. So Albel was able to keep his secrets and with beginning of every thunderstorm he had gone to meet *that person*.
Albel had been seven years old when he had met that person for first time. He had found that person from the playground near his home. Other had been running around and laughed raising his doll-like, white face towards the sky and the rain. Other's laughter had vanished under the roaring thunder but Albel had seen that despite the rain, the wet, the clouds that person had been happy and Albel had been captured. He had come closer the strange child carefully and frozen when other had noticed him. But instead of running away the younger child had come to Albel.
The blue-haired boy had played with Albel through the thunderstorm and they had become something like friends. When storm had started to calm down the blue-haired boy had suddenly become very skittish and told Albel that he had to go, return to home. But before he had left he had told that his name was Fayt and they had promised to meet on that very same playground during the next thunderstorm.
There it had started. The secret meetings in the storm when there were no others around. As both of them grew older they abandoned the playground and found new places to meet and wander. As both of them grew in age and their bodies began to change their games and plays also changed. The nature of the game of tag turned into different kind of pursuit. They still shared the kisses but no longer their lips touched timidly cheek or forehead as rain of kisses ran over exposed nipples, stomach, arms, lips, legs, arousals, backs, shoulders. Their hugs became longer and led more often to kisses and touches and teasing.
Finally Albel and Fayt came to point where they felt like end of thunderstorm meant end of the world, the Ragnarök, Armageddon. The feel of separation was first only something hard to do, but then it became painful until it was unbearable, unnatural.
Albel knew the salty, bitter taste of Fayt's tears, the joyful, nice sound of Fayt's laughter and sweet, sweaty fragrance of Fayt's release. He recognized other's mood from the way he carried himself beside him. He knew the foods and drinks which Fayt liked and disliked. He listened to Fayt's ranting about his school, family, friends and what ever came to his mind.
Albel knew that what ever knowledge he had from Fayt so did Fayt have from him.
Albel in the age of 24 still liked the thunder and rain and storms like he always had. But not so long ago he had realized that he like Fayt more than anything else. Somewhere deep down he acknowledged that he was quite lucky person to be able to experience and see both of his favorites always at the same time. Albel had already decided that he would never ask more than thunderstorms which would bring Fayt to him and would allow him to disappear for a moment from this world.
After all... Everybody knows that gods will punish those that are too greedy and will take everything away from those persons.
That was the reason why Albel never asked any meaningless questions from Fayt. If Fayt wanted to tell, he would tell without asking. It was like a wordless contract, a promise. But as the pain - both mental and physical - of their separations became more and more intensive, Albel once asked from Fayt whether or not it was wrong to wish more than a moment's happiness from gods. Expression on Fayt's face was priceless as Albel explained that he really could not take the pain any more. He had begun to wish for a thunderstorm that would never end allowing Fayt to stay besides him forever and ever, till the end of time.
Albel was afraid of gods, that they would hear his selfish wish and would take Fayt away from him, that he would be forced to stay alone in the endless darkness and cold till the end of time. After voicing his fear Fayt wound his arms around Albel and just held him.
Albel and Fayt did not have sex during that thunderstorm. They only sat embracing each other, looked the flashes of lightings and listened the crashes of thunder. When the thunder started to calm down Fayt asked Albel to leave the world and come to with him to the place where they could be together till the end of time and over.
But there would be no return.
When they left back to their separated homes, Fayt told Albel that no answer was needed. If Albel would ever be ready to vanish from the face of this land, then they would disappear no matter whether that time would come tomorrow or from ten years after this day. There was no time limit and Fayt would always see Albel when the thunder filled the air.
*****
Albel closed his eyes and willed the voice of the lecturer off his ears. He was feeling like there was a great possibility that he could sleep through the lesson although the sun was evilly shining over his face. Albel wanted to dream about thunder. It had been over two months since the last thunderstorm and it would take approximately two more months before the stormy season would begin.
Albel opened his eyes and stared out of the window idly wondering if gods would be generous enough to give him one small, out-of-season thunderstorm...
