Chapter 8

Mission 15
Waterfall Tears

I dodged left as the fat guy's partisan sliced through the air toward me. He missed by a mile. Anna drew her daggers as I rushed her. I tackled her and rolled with the fall, so she was on the ground and I got back to my feet in an instant.
The fat guy came at me with his partisan again. I activated the photon blade on my saber and parried his attack, then followed up with my own. He tried to block my attack but he used the shaft of his polearm and my saber cut right through it. He staggered backwards and I attacked again, this time my slash hit his body armor. Sparks flew from the burns on his armor as I attacked again, the blade cutting into his right shoulder. Blood flowed from his wound down his chest as he collapsed.
I spun around just in time to see Anna fleeing through the door at the far end of the room. I cracked open a telepipe and threw the guy through the swirling energy. As he disappeared I chased after Anna.

Kroe hadn't been kidding. She and Anna were definitely identical twins. Kroe was a H-16, 5'4" Newman with short green hair. I opened the door to the water fall room and rushed forward, hoping to surprise Anna and her ally. Kireek was standing in the middle of the room. Anna was at his feet, bleeding from several places, screaming for help. Blood dripped from his weapon, the scythe named Soul Eater. Anna's daggers were on the floor several meters away from them. Kireek swung his weapon and cut open a wound in her left thigh. This wasn't a battle. This was torture.
Kireek turned to me and his eyes blinked red, recognizing a new target. Could I really defeat Kireek? He was practically a legend around the hunter's guild. His attacks could dwarf mine in sheer power, but my defenses are great while everyone knows that male android hunters have terrible evasion abilities. If I fought smart I had a chance to win. I steeled my resolve and readied my Resta healing spell and my best healing items, Dimates and Trimates.
He struck first, using the range of his Soul Eater to his advantage. The attack cut me across the chest. I used a dimate and attacked. My saber hit his left leg as he sidestepped my overhead slash. He followed up with a vertical slice that bounced off my shield. We kept trading blows, for every blow that he landed on me I must have blocked or avoided three. I kept whittling down his body, being careful not to leave myself open to attack. I tried to cut his weapon in two, just like I had done to the fat guy, but the Soul Eater stood up to my attack.
Kireek got a lucky critical blow and his weapon dug deep into my side. My mag flashed, signaling my photon blast was charged up and ready to be unleashed. I dropped my saber and held onto the scythe sticking out of my side, keeping Kirrek from escaping. I looked up into his eyes and flashed a smile as my mag released all its energy in one gigantic burst. There was a blinding light, followed by darkness. I couldn't see anything. I herd a robotic voice say that 'Black Hound' would win next time, and the Soul Eater was pulled from my side.
I called out to Anna as I fumbled around in the dark looking for her. I crawled along the ground and called out for her again. I said that her sister had sent me. I listened for a response. I herd her whisper Kroe's name and I found her. I opened a portal to Pioneer 2 and dragged her through.

When I got home Matha saw my wounds and she was really upset. She started yelling at me, but then started crying and ran to me and wrapped her arms around me. I winced in pain and she apologized. It was strange, even though I was in pain I still felt, well, happy. I can't remember how long it's been since someone I cared about cared about me too. No, I can't remember because maybe it's never happened before.


Mission 16
Black Paper

The news started coming in that there was someone on Ragol who was torturing and killing hunters. I knew it was Kireek, but no one would believe me. He was a well respected hunter and I was just getting known. Around the guild people were saying that Kireek was missing too. Rumors started flying, that Kireek had been killed, or that he was hunting down the murderer. Nobody suspected the truth.
Actually that's not completely true. I told Matha about the whole thing and she actually believed me. It's really great having her around. She's like the little sister I never had.
A few days after the mission ended I received mail from Kroe. She said that her sister told her that she was working for a man known as Black Paper, one of the leaders of the Dark Hearts gang. She said she was going after him and that she wanted me to follow her and make sure he paid for manipulating Anna. I sent back a positive reply.

I went to the caves and started my search for Kroe. Along the way I found the fat guy from the last mission. He had a new partisan, and came at me with it. I dodged his attack, and cleaved his weapon in two again. He dropped it and ran. I chased him through a couple of rooms. When I finally caught up to him he was being eaten by a Grass Assassin. The sight of his intestines being slurped up like spaghetti is something I'll never forget.
I was deep in the caves when I met a young hunter with a Mohawk. When he saw me he let out a bird call. Honestly, what kind of lookout uses a bird call when you're underground? Anyway, he let out a Barta spell at me. The ice magic ran along the ground towards me. I jumped toward him, over the attack and gave him a mid-air overhead attack. My energy blade hit him with tremendous force, burning away a long gash in his armor. He passed out under the stress of the impact and I left him there and ran into the next room.
There was a male Newman force, a male human ranger and Kroe (I just was guessing) standing in the center of the room. The force yelled at the others to attack, calling them Anna and Hugo. Hugo aimed his rifle at me just before 'Anna' slashed him across the back. Kroe must have been pretending to be Anna to get close to Black Paper. I rushed the force and decked him with the pommel of my saber. He went down instantly and I helped Kroe beat the crap out of Hugo until he stopped moving.

After a debriefing with the police Kroe asked me to come back to her place for a drink. Anna was staying at her sister's apartment. All three of us started drinking. Kroe and Anna kept putting back shots while I kept to a few beers. They got real drunk real fast. Kroe complained about it being too hot and she took all her clothes off. Anna started coming onto me. She said she wanted me to do her right there. Kroe turned and said that I had to do her. They argued back and forth between who I was going to screw before I said that we could go into the bedroom and all do it together. At the top of the list were three leaders. Black Kiss, who I had brought in some time ago, Black Paper, and Black Hound, who was identified only as a hunter. It must be Kireek. I'll find him and defeat him again. Then the nightmare known as Dark Hearts will be over and Pioneer 2 can get back to worrying about real monsters.

Author's Notes:
Note Ash's comment on Matha being like a sister and compare to Matha masturbating while thinking about Ash. Will Ash change his mind and start having sex with her? Or will Matha's feelings go unrequited? Well, given the nature of this story take a wild guess.
I really debated weather or not I should leave in a blow job scene at the end of mission 15. It sort of felt out of place so I finally replaced it with Matha's reaction. I think it's much better now.
