A "Chance" Encounter?

The impish creature sighed. "What, did you forget why we are looking for the masks? I can't remember a thing before crashing through the roof of your shed. Hell, I didn't even know I was affected by that stupid sun until I tried to show myself yesterday." her shadow sighed. "As for my name, I was really hoping your dad would know who I was and well, that was a dead end."

Passing over a rock on the pavement, her shadow threw it along the ground using his hair as if it were a hand. "You know what, to avoid confusion, why don't you decide what you want to call me until I remember my real name. Sound good?"

At this point they had reached Jim's house and James was outside, playing with a small dog. "James! Link just called and asked you to talk with Ester when she get here!" a voice said from inside the house. "Awww, why do I have to talk with her???" James shouted as they got closer.

"Well isn't he just a little ray of sunshine?" The Imp whispered, annoyed.

Ester walked casually with her hands behind her head, listening to him. She let out a sigh, "Why don't I just call you 'Annoying Shrimp that Forces Masks onto People' Of course, that would be pretty long..." She glanced over at him, smirking. She understood that there WAS the potential of amnesia from crashing through a roof, but how he crashed through it was a question she wanted to know. Among all the others, of course. "How about Chance? Since it was by chance that I found you?"

Pursing her lips a bit irritatedly, she listened to James, a boy about 10 years old, whine about talking to her. "Oh goodie. I remember this kid. He would try to throw Cukko eggs at me during the Carnival of Time last year. Little punk."

"I'm not a little punk! I'm the leader of the Bombers, and don't you forget it!" James said matter-of-factly "Now then, I suppose the only reason someone like you would seek out one of us, is so you could join our exclusive club." he crossed his arms an frowned.

"Well you can't just join because you want to. You have to pass a test. Follow me!" James uncrossed his arms and ran over to an area of town that was like a huge playground. several other boys, four to be exact, were playing a game of tag with a little Deku scrub boy. James took out a whistle and blew it, making the boys, and the Deku boy, line up. "Alright, listen up, fellas! Ester wants to join the Bombers. Normally I wouldn't allow it, but her dad is a retired Bomber, and just so happens to be the most successful member in the history of the Bombers Club. So get to your positions."

Turning to Ester he said "Catch all six of us in ten minutes and you are a member. Your time starts..." they all ran off. "NOW!" James shouted over his shoulder.

Ester didn't think James heard her, but she really didn't care. All this little kid did all day was screw around with his friends, often getting in people's way. He wasn't exactly the first person she wanted to get to know, but she didn't have much of a choice. "Hey wait, I never said I wanted to-..." Her outstretched arm lowered when he ran off to his friend, and she released a huff. Her shoulders sagged, "Great, I get to play a game instead of doing important things..." she grumbled.

She tried to keep track of all the children as they ran off, but it was rather difficult. They all split up, and she couldn't make up her mind on who to go after. "Ah... mmm... ah screw it! I'm going after the head honcho!" Being older and with longer legs, she was certain that she could catch these little hoodlums.

Speeding after James, who kept trying to lose her, she made a lunge for him, accidentally shoving him to the ground. Ester put a hand to her mouth, "Oh sorry James. Looks like I caught you." She smirked, then turned to see another kid turn and run in the opposite direction. "Oh no you don't!"

After about 8 minutes, she managed to tag nearly all of the Bombers. Now only one remained; the Deku Scrub boy. Ester managed to find where he had been hiding, but he suddenly pirouetted away as fast as the wind, kicking up dust in the process. The girl coughed, waving her hand in front of her face, "Aw, how am I supposed to catch him?" She scratched her head a moment, then it hit her. What was as fast as a Deku Scrub? Another Deku Scrub! Pulling the mask out of her back, she quickly slapped it on and braced for unholy pain. Oddly enough, it wasn't as bad as before, but it still hurt like crazy.

"Alrighty Scrubby, bring it on!" Attempting to mimic the way the Deku Shrub moved, she spun around, moving forward at surprising speed. Of course, on occasion she managed to fall over, but after a bit she got the hang of it. Twirling after the boy, she finally managed to tag him. "Yes! Yes yes yes! I got all of you!" she cheered, taking off the mask and bouncing around.
