Desperate times

Reign laughed. “Damn that was fun. Did you see the look on their faces? Man, were they pissed.” He patted Raze on the head. “Good boy! You got them good!”
Marri laughed despite herself. She always did enjoy striking fear into the hearts of villagers in Westfall. Adonai and Eroth had both taking her raiding here. And that thought ruined her good mood. Thoughts of her lost loves. She sighed heavily.
“What’s got you looking so blue?” Reign asked.
“Me fur be naturally blue.” She said.
“That’s not what I meant and you know it.” He said.
“Never ya mind, Elf.” She growled.
“Marri. I have a name.” He said.
“And I not be carin’. I be nice if ya be mindin’ ya own business! I tolerate you because ya be ‘ord! If ya not be dat, ya be not’in’ but a filty ELF!” She growled.
“Ah, I see. This is about ancient hatreds?” He asked. “You hate me because of something that happened before you were born?”
“No.” She growled.
“Don’t deny it. You’re bitter that you’re people got defeated.” He said. “That’s why you hate me.”
“No! While, yes, I ‘ate dat de filty elves took troll sacred land, dat would not make me ‘ate ya. De Darkspear forgive ya, I could too.” She said. “I ‘ate ya because ya be an elf! Choo an ya night elf cousins come from de same race! Ya all be elves!”
“So you hate me just because I’m an elf? How racist is that? I don’t much care for TROLLS as a whole, but you don’t see me holding it against YOU!” He growled back.
“A night elf bitch killed me first love! Unprovoked!” She yelled. “Two Night elves capture me, rape me, take me innocence, torture me! Now me ‘usband be dead ‘cause ‘e spare a de same night elf bitch dat kill me first love, de dwarf dat kill Adonai, de ‘uman dat kill ‘im and de damed gnome dat capture me and Wind’orn! Elves be elves! Ya be de same as dem! So just mind yaself!”
Reign was taken aback. It hadn’t been racism at all. He stood there in silence for nearly a minute. He watched her closely. She was desperately attempting to keep back tears. He reached out and placed his hand on her shoulder. “Marri... I’m sorry.” He said.
She turned and looked at him but said nothing.
“I was wrong to say those things. I assumed you were like all the other Trolls I’ve met. I can’t undo what’s been done to you. I can’t give back what they’ve taken from you. I can’t change that I am indeed related to those who hurt you, as much as the thought of being related to the Kal’dorai is revolting in and of itself.” He said. “All I can say is, I’m sorry.”
The tears finally fell down her cheeks. Her anger visibly subsided. “I be sorry I yelled at ya.” She said softly. “I...”
He smiled and placed his finger over her lips. “Don’t. I understand.” He said. He stepped closer to her and whipped away a tear from her cheek. “All I want is to prove to you, I’m not a Kal’dorai. To prove I’m not like them.” He leaned forward, his lips coming very close to hers. Her eyes widened and she froze. “I’m a Sin’dorai.” He whispered and tilted to capture he lips.
“Marri!” Windhorn’s voice called out, snapping Marri out of it. She shoved him away hard and turned away from him.
Reign mentally cursed at the Tauren’s bad timing. He knew he could have changed her mind about him if he could have shown her how the High elves make love. If he could prove to her he wouldn’t hurt her like the night elves had.
“Marri!” Windhorn called again running up to her. “Eroth is alive!”
“What?!” Marri gasped.
“He’s alive!” Windhorn said. “And I don’t mean he survived the attack on Stormwind. I mean they reversed the sourge!”
“What? How... how did they do that?” Reign asked, his attempts at seducing Marri forgotten. “You can’t undo undeath!”
“They found away. Eroth is alive and in Stormwind.” Windhorn said.
“We have to save him!” Marri said.
Windhorn looked at her sadly. “Marri... he doesn’t remember ever being undead. He doesn’t remember us.” He said.
Marri looked as if she’d been slapped. Her husband didn’t remember her. How... how could that be?
“But I have a plan.” He said.
“What’s that?” Marri asked quietly.
“Well... you’re not going to like it.” He said.
“Just tell us already!” Reign said.
“Well... We need a way to get in there. We need someone to get us in there. We need to be captured... and I think I can talk Prin into doing it.” Windhorn said.
“What?!” Marri and Reign said in unison.
“You want us to WILLINGLY get captured?” Reign asked.
“I already be ‘er prisoner once. I not like it! Ya want me ta just walk into ‘er clutches?!” Marri asked.
“I told you that you wouldn’t like it.” Windhorn said. “We have no other alliance people to turn to. It’s Prin... or saying good bye to Eroth forever.”
“You can’t honestly be serious.” Reign said. “It’s suicide!”
“Ya not ‘ave ta come, Reign.” Marri said, not turning to face him. “We understand if ya leave now.”
Reign blinked. “That’s... the first time you used my name.” He said.
Windhorn looked between the two of them. “I missed something didn’t I?”
“Yes.” Reign said. “But it doesn’t matter now because her husband’s alive and we’re going to get him back!”
Marri and Windhorn looked at him. “Um... yeah... I missed something... big, didn’t I?” Windhorn asked
“Now not be de time.” Marri said.
“Right... Let’s go look for Prin.” Windhorn said.
“Do you have anything that would smell like her. Raze is a good tracker.” Reign said.
Windhorn got into his pack. He pulled out a piece of linen cloth. “This was hers.” Windhorn said.
Reign took it and held it down to Raze. “Find her boy. Find her.” He said. The wolf smelled it and sniffed around before taking off. “He’s got a sent. Let’s go!” Reign took off after his wolf.
