But I give permission for other authors to use him in their fics as long as they send me a link so I can read them, too. --------------------------------------------------------- -Chapter 7- "Just think," Riku said, as he and Sora pooled together the gummi parts hadn't used. "six years ago, give or take, you and I were teenagers working on a raft. Now we're grown men, in our thirties oddly enough, and we're building a spaceship." Sora laughed at this. "Well, I was told that adventures can improve ones maturity." "Oh," Riku asked, playfully, "what else do they improve?" Sora picked Riku up and sat him firmly on top of a pile of boxes, pushing his knees apart and stepping between them. He pulled Riku forward until their bodies were pressed tightly together, and shared the first kiss they'd ever exchanged with their new bodies. "Wow!" they both agreed, when they finally broke the kiss. "When you two are finished making out we could use a hand over here!" Kairi called to them. Riku hopped down and went over to Kairi and Selphie who had just driven up in a newly bought Muckbender(1). "Oh, man," Sora groaned. "Oh well. I guess a Starjack(2) wouldn't be practical, even if it did look cooler." "They're also out of our price range," Riku reminded him. "I don't think even King Mickey could afford one." They examined the new purchase, then Sora explained the function of each gummi to Kairi and Selphie while Riku sketched out a few blue[prints. They grabbed sodas at a small cafe the next afternoon and went over the blueprints. "I like this one," Kairi said, handing Selphie one that Riku had named Axel's Heart. Sora saw the name and raised an eyebrow. "I thought he deserved one after he gave up his quest for one to save your life," Riku shrugged. "That's very sweet, Riku," Kairi said, kissing him on the cheek. ***** Scrooge McDuck smoothed down his ruffled feathers and blinked at the pair who were now standing in front of the counter. The rest of the patrons were also staring. Fear kept them in their seats, hands holding forgotten spoons with various amounts of ice-cream on them. "Wh- what?" he managed. "I said," Sephiroth repeated calmly, "I'd like a hot-fudge sundae with butter-crunch ice-cream and my date will have a toffee and hot-fudge sundae with praline supreme ice-cream." "Thank you for your order. Have a seat, please. It'll be brought to you as soon as it is ready." "Thank you, sir," Maleficent returned. She followed Sephiroth to a nearby table and sat down. After a while, the rest of the patrons managed to unfreeze themselves and resume their own sundaes, cones, and other various treats. "How did this happen?" Maleficent wondered out loud. "I admit I had a rather strange urge to look you up. But, I never in my wildest dreams thought about dating. What's happened to me?" "Let's not question it," Sephiroth suggested. "I haven't felt this good since Dr. Gast was alive. Let's not spoil it by trying to figure it out. I want to hold on to this feeling for as long as I can." "So do I," Maleficent admitted. She eyed the other patrons and got the disturbing idea that they were starting to think she'd gone soft. "I have an idea," she grinned, leaning over to whisper something to Sephiroth that caused a grin to spread across his face as well. After they'd finished their sundaes, and left the ice-cream parlor, Maleficent changed into her dragon form and Sephiroth climbed onto her back. With a mighty roar, the dragon leapt into the air, bearing a rider on its back for the first time. It sensed a telepathic thread in Sephiroth's mind and followed it, curious to see to what or whom it might lead. She flew over an estate auction, and swooped down upon the crowd with a terrifying roar, Sephiroth's battle-cry mingling with her dragon's voice and causing all present to crash into each other as they tried flee to safety. On the third swoop, she picked up something from the auction table with her right claw. On her back, she felt Sephiroth suddenly grip her more tightly, as if some strength he hadn't known he lost had suddenly come back to him. She flew away from the auction, ignoring the angry calls of the auctioneer, and landed in the middle of the street in front of Sephiroth's house. Once Sephiroth had dismounted, she returned to her human form and held up the item her dragon's claw had grabbed from the auction table. "Here," she offered. Sephiroth laughed triumphantly, as he took the sword from her. "Welcome home, Masamune." ---------------------------------------------------------- (1) Think Station wagon.
