”Well I’m not about to flee like a miserable coward!” Ciera cried standing up with vigor. “Let them come!”
A few nervous murmurs were whispered through the crowd. Kane stood protectively next to Alex hardly noticing the excitement; Alex’s eyes were glazed and almost looking beyond into the grim past and future.
Ciera noticed this quickly and made a decision, Alex simply couldn’t stay here. “Kane take Alex on a griffin to Iornforge. Tell any able bodied adventurers of the Horde I’m sure they’ll be more then happy to come.” Ciera started up the inn’s wooden stairs to get her weapons and armor.
“No.” Alex muttered quietly. “I’m staying.”
“Alex you can’t stay here you’re not skilled enough,” Ciera said without turning around.
“NO.” Alex yelled clenching her fists, the bar went completely silent, and every eye was trained on the three.
“Alex…” Kane placed both hands on her shoulders trying to comfort her. Alex pulled away and turned to face Ciera who still had her back to her.
“I am not going to stand by and watch as someone else I care about dies!” Alex shook her head. “No way in hell I’m going to run away!”
Ciera turned to face her friend, anger and concern in her silvery eyes. After a long time of looking at one another Ciera turned back around with an annoyed huff.
“Well come on then, they’ll be here at any time! Let’s get you two suicidal idiots suited up.”
“Yes!” Alex bounced up after Ciera.
“H..hey wait can’t I just go to tell the adventurers of the epic battle…So I’ll just be on my humble way to go do that.” Kane edged toward to door.
“Get back here!” Alex stalked toward to cowering elf.
“Bu..but we need a messenger to get back up.” Alex grabbed him by the back of his black shirt and started to drag him up the stairs.
“Don’t worry; I’m sure the evacuees will spread the word.” Ciera inclined her head toward the panicking town folk as they scrambled for their things and to get on a griffin.
“Can’t I go with them?” Kane whimpered pathetically.
“No we need all the help we can get.” Ciera said tossing the equipment on the floor at their feet.

“Looks like all da Alliance cleared out real quick afta dat annoyin man got awae, damn coward.” Rolic said shivering from the cold autumn winds and once again took notice of his thin torn shirt that offered little protection from the cold.
“Then our plan worked.” Syrean shrugged her bone shoulders. “Now let’s go get the supplies, a man died for this to work.” She shook her head sadly.
The troll sniffed angrily, “He attacked us first mon.” Rolic then started toward the deserted town.
“What ever, at least now we can get some decent clothes before we head to Stranglethorn.” Syrean sighed and started after her giant travel partner.
A sudden crash sounded from their right, both jumped and jerked their heads toward the obnoxious noise eyes wide in alarm.
“FOOLISH HORDE FOOLS! PREPARE FOR A DARK DOOM!” A blue haired girl night elf jumped out from a small house with a possessed look on her face. “NOW TASTE THE ULTIMATE FEAR AND DISPAIR!!!” She then lifted her giant bow three arrows loaded on the string, aiming for the troll and undead with a mighty war cry.”GET SOME!”
“And they say undead are scary.” Syrean chuckled. Both of them had learned the Alliance’s language when they were in training to be warriors of the Horde, their superiors believed knowledge was power and that being able to speak the enemies language would be helpful, So far it was just annoying…
“Yo be crazy in da ‘ead mon!” Rolic yelled smacking his head with a hand, eyes crossed and tongue sticking out to a side to mock her.
Ciera was a bit taken aback due to him being able to speak Common but quickly recovered and took notice of the insult.
“How dare you! First kill an innocent man then insult a warrior trying to defend the homes of town folk!” Ciera huffed she’d be damned if she would let them make fun of her.
“Look he attacked us first we mealy defended our selves, as far as the town what can two individuals do we just want a few supplies.” Syrean tried to reason.
“Killed him by a flag in the back a bit crude don’t cha think?” Ciera shot back holding her ground bow still raised. “As for the supplies go you both must be daft, you caused a panic as well as defiled your own positions by that barbaric display!”
“Well we’re kinda desperate mon, if getting a bit of food means petrayin yo self as an ass den so be it.” Rolic shrugged.
Ciera lowered her bow defeated, they had a point she knew in that situation she would have done the same thing. But it didn’t change the fact that they were sworn enemies due to the war.
“We don’t want to fight just stand down and we’ll get what we need and be on our way.” Syrean pleaded desperately, “Please..” Years before she would have rather died then beg an Alliance for anything but things had changed since thoughs proud days.
Ciera sighed she didn’t want to fight and kill people any more it was too much.
“Very well but discard your weapons.” She said wearily.
“We don’t ‘ave any weapons, we used the last of our defenses on dat man.” Rolic looked over at Syrean a bit surprised and suspicious that the night elf had given in.
“No! We are NOT letting there monsters ransack the villagers homes!” Alex sprinted out from her ambush positioned fire in her mismatched eyes.
“Alex there’s no point.” Ciera sighed seeing she was going to be stubborn.
“EY! We be no monsters!” The troll took a few steps forward angered by the humans cutting and ignorant words.
Alex raised her hand up at him; fingers spread and palm emitting a slight golden glow. She turned a threatening gaze at the troll.
“One more step and I’ll unleash some holy punishment on your blue ass.” Alex growled and the troll immediately stopped short, making Syrean giggle.
“Alex they mean no harm why fight?”
“They killed a man!” Alex shot at Ciera enraged.
“He attacked first.”
“They caused a town to panic!”
“To get food and survive I would do the same.” Kane said stepping from the shadows of his position he had heard enough of this childish conflict.
“You would be betraying the Alliance!” Alex accused.
“I’m done with pointless killing; I thought you of all people would understand that the best.” Ciera shook her head disappointedly at Alex. Alex looked down ashamed realizing what she was saying.
“I’m sorry…” She muttered.
“So its ok we go in now?” Rolic shivered again.
“Yes.” Ciera replied looking up at the two tired travelers taking in their appearance.
Rolic had blood red hair that jetted up in spikes covering his head in a blood red forest. His eyes were the most captivating, blue with a touch of light brown that most would indeed find very appealing, his face tattooed in exotic red markings the same color as his hair. His cloths were gray and quality very poor, rips and patched decorated the stark cloth. The once proud warrior of the Horde was thin and weak looking making Ciera frown and wonder what the hell had happened.
Syrean’s cloths faired no better only she wore a thin dress that by the off color was once forest green. Her hair was a dark purple that hung in wisps framing her pale face. Her eyes glowed a gentle yellow and her skin was free of imperfections that most undead adorned about their slender bodies. Over all she was pretty for an undead girl which was unusual.
They all turned to the lonely town and headed for the Inn Ciera as well as Kane and Alex were eager to learn more about the unusually pair.

“So tell me how did you two end up so desperate and poor?” Kane asked pulling up a bar stool next to the two who in turn regarded him cautiously.
“We were exiled.” Syrean said simply as if it were obvious.
“Huh?” The three gaped at the troll and undead in disbelief.
“But why?” Kane exclaimed at the injustice.
“Let’s just say we didn’t want to prove our ‘loyalty’ to a raid leader.” Syrean’s yellow eye’s stayed glued forward staring at the bar’s back wall.
“Some tings are best lef alone.” Rolic said when he saw Kane open his mouth to inquire more. “Dos tings best forgotten.”
“How long have you been in exile?” Ciera asked
“12 long years.” Syrean said sadly.
“Well I suppose you two are going to go to Boody Bay to get work then?” Alex asked leaning over the counter to look at the two more closely.
“’Ow did yo kno dat?” Rolic asked surprised.
“Cuz the work there is the best and by the looks of things you two need money.” She shrugged.
“Yes it’s our only hope of and decent income at the moment.” Syrean replied.
“Well then looks like you’re joining forces with us then.” Ciera smirked.
“HUH?!” They all exclaimed save Ciera.
“Well since you’re not Horde. And your able bodied warriors, we can all work together and be unstoppable!” Ciera flashed thumbs up pose at the four.
“Bu..but they’re.” Alex started.
“Nope! Now they’re working with us!” Ciera threw the two some clothes they desperately needed. “Hurry up Alliance ‘reinforcements’ are on the way and I don’t think you want to be found by that bloodthirsty mob.”
“Yo crazy mon” Rolic shook his head,” No ‘aye I be goin wit yo, if Horde soldiers found us den-“
“Then what? Its 5 on 1, they abandoned YOU remember?” Ciera huffed.
“She had a point.” Syrean said poking the troll with a boned finger in the shoulder. ”Plus we need all the help we can get.”
“Jolly good then! Alex, Kane grab the armor and weaponry for our new friends! We must hurry I can almost hear the flapping of griffin wings!” Ciera marched the group out the Inn door as Rolic and Syrean scrambled to get dressed in their new warm clothes.
Alex looked at Kane uneasily.
“Don’t worry I’ll protect you!” He said puffing out his chest and flexing.
“Great…our doom is sealed.”
