Epilogue: The Greatest Challenge
Ryu struck out with the Dragon Sword, now a radiant blade of pure righteous wrath. He sliced through the grotesquely mutated form of what had once been Murai. The cobalt sheen of the monster’s hide yielded to his blow. Coughing up blood, the monster dropped the Dark Dragon Blade it wielded and stumbled backward, tumbling down the bottomless pit.
Wasting no time, Ryu walked to the Dark Dragon Blade, kicked it up, and cut through it swiftly. The Dragon Sword shattered the vile weapon effortlessly.
It was over.
Ryu took a moment to savor the completion of his quest. It would not bring back his village or his lost loved ones. But those responsible were punished, and that was something. He sheathed his blade and turned to leave.
“Ryu,” a tentative voice called behind him. He’d almost forgotten Rachel. She was a true warrior, and had assisted Ryu throughout his battles in Vigoor. A blond woman, she wore a leather suit that revealed more than it covered; her immense breasts rivaled even Tina Armstrong’s. She was doubtlessly the fantasy of every man who saw her.
Ryu paused. She had simply spoken his name, but in her voice he could hear more. Promises of passion and pleasure, all were for the taking. He had but to turn and have her. A man would be insane not to accept her offer.
Ryu spoke over his shoulder; just two words.
“It’s over.” And then he was gone.
After all, it would not be fair to expect so much from Rachel.

Ayane watched the final battle from a nearby hill. It was obvious what Rachel wanted, and Ayane could not help but smile at Ryu’s departure. While tracking Ryu’s progress through Vigoor, Ayane had been contacted by Kasumi. Returning to her village, Ayane had met with Kasumi and the two sisters had at last made amends. To be accurate, they had made more than amends. They had both felt a great deal of affection for each other that was not sisterly in the traditional sense. To be frank, they had leapt on each other like animals. After an exhausting night of sisterly love making, they had talked of Ryu. Kasumi had not taken with child after all, but the shinobi gave her a wide berth nonetheless, taking no chances.
Ayane had insisted that Kasumi stay with her, and await Ryu’s return. After learning that Murai was indeed the true villain, Ayane had left again for Vigoor at once only to arrive in time to witness Ryu’s decisive victory.
She turned and started back home. There were preparations to be made. Ryu’s guest cabin was nearly complete and its bedroom was resplendent. Ayane and Kasumi planned to make Ryu’s homecoming one he would never forget. Considering that no one heard from the three of them for a week, they were most likely successful.
The villagers were perplexed by the arrival of several visitors during the second week. The Douglass Heiress, Helena, along with her lovely assistant Christie arrived in a carriage. The famous wrestler Tina Armstrong who was accompanied by two rising stars, Hitomi and Leifang, drove up in a luxurious limousine. Most of the villagers assumed that Helena Douglass was sponsoring a private martial arts tournament in Hayabusa’s honor. That seemed to explain the extraordinary clamor coming from within the hut at all hours of the day. Groans, moaning…And the screams! Surely they were tearing each other apart in there. What no one understood was why it went on for weeks. The only person who went in or out was old man Gen Fu, bringing food and water, and he would say nothing. He would just smile wistfully and shake his head. He once muttered something about Ryu being the only man on earth who both deserved what was happening and could actually survive it. This confused the people even more, since Gen Fu had always seemed fond of Ryu, and the battle cries of the young Hayabusa were growing strained and desperate.
At long last the ruckus subsided, and the visitors began leaving. They stumbled out, struggling to keep their footing. Their clothes hung on their bodies, torn and tattered. The villagers did not know what to make of their expressions, though. The women all seemed unable to stop grinning.
“These strangers must really enjoy fighting,” the people whispered.
Once they had all gone, Ayane and Kasumi both came out to address the village. Holding onto each other and the railing for support, they told the village to be aware that, due to “extraneous battle fatigue”, Ryu Hayabusa would be resting for quite some time. The village cried out in pity for the brave young Hayabusa.
Inside the hut, Ryu lay naked on a small shredded blanket; it was all that remained of his bed. He could barely feel anything anymore. It might have been his imagination, but he could have sworn he had seen steam rising off of his groin.
He could just hear the people’s shouts of encouragement and condolences. Though it hurt, Ryu could not stop himself from smiling.

Writer Commentary
This epilogue begins with a recounting of the last cutscene before the ending credits of Ninja Gaiden. Astute gamers will note that I have the chronology of Ryu's line and the other character's a bit off. And if you haven't played Ninja Gaiden, go do so!
I decided to keep the epilogue as general as possible, with just a brief idea of Ayane and Kasumi's love making. The same went for the orgy that awaited Ryu's return. I'm sure that the reader's imagination is more than capable of illustrating what was going on in that hut.
There's a quick cameo by Gen Fu from DOA3 as well for good measure.
And that was the end.
Or so I thought...
