Disclaimer: I do not own Legend of Zelda!
Damn that took so much longer than i was planing..lame i know, especially since there still seems to be no lemon! no lime! no nothing! Ugh! Trust me, it is getting to me too. I refuse to go through another chapter without some sort of hot action, so the next chapter i am dedicating well more than half of it to just that. But on the plus side Link has his first emotional break down! Yey! So Please, bare with me people! Thank you for the reveiws! ^_^
Chances are i will revise this chapter..there are probably many typos..(more than usual), but i was irritated with myself because it took me this long to update. Damn me Ickarous!
An'who, try to enjoy!
”Yo Link, you here?” Dark called up the stairs. He leaned on the rail waiting for a response.
”Yo!” Link responded jogging down the stairs. He had just finished taking a shower and was wearing a bright blue towel around his head and waist. Dark couldn’t help but to chuckle.
”What’s so funny?”
”Might want to tone down the gay-vibe just a bit little bro.”
”What? What’s gay about this? I just got out of the shower, I washed my hair and I didn’t want to get water everywhere.” Link tossed the stacked towel to the left side of his head.
”Well you look like a fag and you smell like one too.”
”Takes one to know one, I used your shampoo.” Link laughed as well as Dark. It was rare for Link to make a snappy come-back.
”Ha, smooth.”
”Yea well I get it from you.” He nudged his brothers arm and smiled. “Hey, I am going to get some clothes on.”
”Uh, alright sure. When you are done can I…talk to you for a moment?” Link noticed a small frown come over Darks face. That meant it must be something serious.
”Uh, yea…sure. Is something wrong?”
”no no, I just need to ask you something about mother.”
”Oh…” Link looked away for a moment.
”Just go get dressed.” He said shoving him up the stairs.
Dark walked over to the couch and sat down heavily. He placed his head in his hands and sat still listening to the low hum of the video game system. He looked over and was about to turn it off, but he instead turned the television on. The game was on pause.
/Still playing this stupid game Link? Gees, of all the games you could play you pick the lamest one./
Link came back down the stairs wearing his pajama’s. He wasn’t planning on going to sleep this early, but all he had were school uniforms, so he just decided on his pj’s for now. He would change later.
He walked over to where Dark was sitting sat on the other side of him.
”Why do you play this stupid game?” Dark asked kicking the chord of the game controller.
”Because it is the only one worth playing.” Link leaned over and took the controller. He unpaused the game and continued playing his near complete file.
”The main character looks gayer than you…which is very hard to do.” Dark cracked a smile.
”Whatever. I was planning on beating this temple, but then Sheik called and said he was going to take me out tonight after him and Zelda were done practicing but I didn’t want to turn the game off.”
”You could have saved and quit.”
”Yea, but I wanted to beat it. It took me for ever to get through the snow temple and now I am fighting my evil twin.”
”Oh ho, yea. I hated that guy. He was a jerk and he wouldn’t sit still.”
”Yea, but I’ll get him eventually.” They both laughed for a moment, but then Link straightened his face and looked at Dark. He paused the game once again and sat it on the table.
”Was…Was there something you wanted to about our mother?” Dark took a deep breath and crossed his arms.
”Yea. You remember she wore that triangle around her neck all the time?”
”Uh…” Link paused.
”Link, do you remember what she did with it? Did she give it to you?”
”Uh, no. I don’t know what she did with it.”
”Are you telling me the truth?”
”Yea, of course.” Link flinched at his brothers interrogation.
”Link, please… Do you know where it is?” Dark asked calmly. Link looked into his brother blood red eyes and then quickly looked away. He hated lying to him, mostly because Dark could see through almost any lie.
”I don’t know Dark, sorry.” He replied sternly. Dark sighed heavily and rose from the couch.
”Fine, I see how it is,” He started with his back turned to Link. “You think that because she gave it to you that you are better than me, huh?”
”Dark you know I don’t think that.”
”Yea you do. You always have. When I was laying on the ground taking your beatings you would be in your room playing your stupid flute and reading your stupid books!”
”Dark please calm down.”
”No. I am sick of this… I am sick of you and your perfect little life!”
”Perfect? Dark, my life has never been perfect, but it has been slightly better than I deserve because of you. You have done so much for me Dark, and I love you because of that, but I don’t know anything about the pendant.” It hurt Link to lie to him like that. He knew where it was, he has always known. He kept it with him, but the last thing that his mother told him was it belong to him and no one else. /Never give it to anyone Link, never./ her parting words. For her to say that as her final words rather than anything else must mean that it is important. It was everything to Link, it was everything to their mother.
”Whatever man. I am starting to regret everything I’ve done for you. Fuck you and Mom!” Dark bit visciously at Link. It was a tone that he had never used on him before. It felt like a violent slap to his face.
”Take that back you Bastard!” Link shouted at the top of his lungs. It came out more like a girlie squeal rather than a forceful threat.
”Hell no. She always babied you! You! Never me! She was an idiot for not leaving in the first place. It’s her fault she’s dead!”
”Dark…”
”Keep your stupid flute and your stupid sword, but when I find that necklace I am taking it. You got everything else I think I deserve that at least.” Dark stormed out of the room knocking over a lamp on his way out. Link didn’t even try to stop him. Talking about mother was too far.
Link sighed and rested his head on the arm of the couch. He hated it when Dark did this. Bring up mother, then run off. But this was different. Sometimes Dark would get upset that their mother didn’t try hard enough, but he never said anything like that. To Link, sure all the time. He was always telling him to fuck off and such. But to be so vile about their mother? The only human on that earth that cared about them in such a way? How could he? What was wrong with him? And why the sudden interest in his necklace.
RIIIIIIIIING!
//”Hello..”
”Hey Link, I am on my way over..er, I still don’t have a car so I hope you don’t mind taking a stroll through the park?”
”Oh, it’s cool. That would be…fine.”
”Hey, Link, you ok? You sound a little down.”
”No, I am fine. Everything is fine…really.”
”Link, please come on talk to me.”
A pause.
”I will talk to you when you get here.”
”Alright then…well…see you soon.”\
Later that evening…
”Chinese food just taste better outside.” Sheik and Link sat on a bench in the middle of the park. It was a very warm night and the moths all seemed to gather around that one light out of the many in the park.
”I guess…” Sheik looked over at Link sadly. He had been quite all night. He occasionally would respond to Sheik when he asked a question, but he couldn’t get him to laugh. He couldn’t get him to say anything! It was driving him nuts!
”Ok fine, what’s wrong Link?”
”What do you mean? Everything is fine, rea…” He was about to say ‘really’ but Sheik cut in harshly.
”Don’t you dare say it again damn it. Everything is not fine. If everything was fine I would be happy and you would be happy, but you aren’t happy Link…if you aren’t happy you know I can’t be either.” Link turned away and slouched over the arm rail. Sheik sighed and placed his hand gently on Links shoulder.
”Listen, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean for it to come out so mean. I just want to help Link, but that is hard to do when you won’t let me in.”
”You wouldn’t understand.”
”Maybe, but how can we know for sure if you don’t tell me?”
”I don’t want you to treat me like i need some sort of special attention or anything because I don’t. I have made this far, I can keep going without his help and yours.”
”His?”
”Dark.” Sheik scowled. It was going to happen sooner or later. /That irresponsible slut./ It is wonder how they came from the same mother.
”He’s mad at me and he said he isn’t coming back… I don’t need his help anymore anyway.”
”Well Link come on…Brother fight. No matter how much of an ass your brother is, he still loves you.”
”I think he did…but after what he said about mother…and then to me… I just..i can’t… It is not like him to be so cruel. It’s not like him at all. He has been acting so odd lately…and I don’t understand anymore. It’s like we’ve grown apart completely. It’s like he doesn’t care about our mother or me…or anything but himself.”
”May I ask how this started?”
”I wish I knew..or I guess I have my assumptions…but why would he act out all of a sudden?”
”Hmm?”
”Nevermind. It is all in the past. It doesn’t matter anymore. It doesn’t…matter.” He repeated it to himself a few more times to reinsure himself, but it does matter. He can’t forget. He will never forget.
”Link, please. Just talk to me.”
”But I don’t…”
”Link, look at me.” Sheik turned his head towards his and starred into his watery eyes. Link tried to turn away but Sheik grasped him harder. He didn’t want to hurt him he just needed to know he was listing to him when he spoke to him. “I will not treat you any differently. No matter what you say to me…I will always love you.”
Rather than responded with ‘I love you too.’ Link lunged forward and locked his lips around the crimson eyed man. Link wrapped his arms around him groping him furiously.
Sheik tried to jump back, but Links grip was so strong and desperate. As much a he wanted to settle into this, he knew it was wrong. Maybe later, but not right now. He pulled away from Link and held his wrist firmly.
”Link, no.” He looked at Links eyes, which were now filled with tears. He was trembling trying to pull his wrist away, but he was so emotionally confused that the strength used to grab Sheik had diminished into a weak tug for freedom.
He didn’t want to talk. He wanted to forget about it! It was over.
”It’s over!”
The past was then and the time was now!
”It was in the past!”
Forget Dark, forget Mother, forget Father.
”I have no family!”
Forget his family that never was, forget it all!
”No one loves me!”
No one could ever loved him!
”No!” Link had a violent surge of energy and began pulling and pushing, thrashing about wildly. Sheik was startled by the blonde’s sudden struggle and panicked. He wasn’t sure if he should restrain him or let him loose. He decided to react on instinct, which was to grab Link into a strong hug. He wrapped his arms tightly around the smaller blonds body and held him. Link began to cry out loud pounding at Sheiks back, but he didn’t let go. He just wanted him to calm down.
”Please Link…please calm down.” He said soothingly. After a few more encouraging words Link hid his face in the crook of Sheiks neck and wept silently. He stopped beating him and slowly began to return the hug.
When Sheik felt that Link was calming down and loosened his grip slightly, but still didn’t let go. He didn’t want to let go.
/I love you Link…don’t you know that?/ He wanted to say, but he just held him. He would prove it later, right now Link just needed to be held. Whatever was really bothering him he would talk to him about it later, but right now he just needed a hug.
