Knock Knock, Not

Axel let his eyes close as Roxas's tongue felt around inside his mouth. He could feel his anticipation growing as the other boy teased at his chest with wandering finger tips.

"I promise, I'll be gentle," Roxas breathed into Axel's ear.

Axel shivered and replied, "Don't go too easy on me. I'm a big boy; I can take it."

Roxas sat up, still straddling the red haired man, and pulled his shirt up over his head, revealing his toned abs in all their glory, "Like what ya see?" he asked enticingly.

"Oh yeah..." Axel practically drooled.

Roxas leaned back down and continued their kissing. He wanted Axel to crave this more than life itself.

"Oh God!" a voice yelled from behind Roxas.

Roxas, his face contorted in sheer horror and embarrassment, pulled his tongue from inside Axel's mouth and whipped his head around to see who was intruding. There on the threshold, stood a mortified young man. His blonde hair was cut in a sort of mullet/mohawk, and the uprightness of it only served to make his shocked appearance that much more dramatic. His red and white striped long sleeve shirt clung to arms as the black t-shirt covering it hung eerily motionless. His bleached and marred jeans led down to his black and red tennis shoes, which looked just as beaten up as his pants. At his feet lay a disheveled box of doughnuts. Roxas quickly scrambled for his shirt and held it up to his chest as though he had something to hide, "Demyx!" he shouted angrily, "I've told you a million times not to let yourself in!" Roxas was so embarrassed, he couldn't bring himself to make eye contact.

"Well I can see why, now! Besides! You could have locked the door!" Demyx yelled back in defense.

"Well excuse me for thinking that people who don't live here would know how to knock!" Roxas shouted back.

"Hey! Both of you! Settle down!" Axel yelled, trying to calm the situation.

"Settle down?! How do you expect me to settle down when I just walked in on my two best friends fucking each other?!" Demyx looked like he was about to have a heart attack.

"Demyx, would you calm down and let us explain?" Axel tried to reason as Roxas sat staring at the floor, wishing to be somewhere else.

"No! Forget this! That's just disgusting! I'm outta here!" Demyx turned and stormed towards the front door.

Axel jumped up from the bed and ran after him, "Demyx, wait!" but before he could say anymore, the front door slammed closed, "Shit! I can't believe he reacted like that." disheartened, Axel slumped down onto the couch.

Roxas quietly made his way out into the living room to check on Axel, "What'd you expect him to do? Throw us a party? Look, he'll come around-"

Axel cut him off, "And what if he doesn't? Huh? Are we just suppose to lose all our friends so we can screw each other?"

Roxas winced at the red head's harsh comment, but could see in Axel's eyes that it had just slipped out, "Look, he'll come around, and if he doesn't, well, then yeah. I'm willing to lose him to be with you. Not because we're screwing each other, but because I'm in love with you. You love me too, right Axel? I mean, if you had to lose all your friends, just to stay with me, would you?"

Axel stared at the floor and sighed, "How can you just say something like that? I mean, sure I love you and wanna be with you, but how can you just decide so quickly, that you would give up everything to be with me?"

Roxas frowned, "Because that's what love is."

Axel thought silently for a moment, "Yeah. I guess I would. I mean, if I ever stopped being with someone I love, just so I could keep a friend, I'd never be able to live with myself," he continued to stare at the floor, "You really think he'll come around?"

Roxas smiled slightly at Axel, "Come on, it's Demyx. That's one friend you don't have to worry about losing because of our relationship," he sat down next to Axel and they laid their heads on one another's.

"Yeah, I know you're right. I'm sorry about the screwing comment, I was just so shocked by his reaction," Axel apologized.

"Yeah I know. To tell the truth, I kind of was too. I mean, I understand he was surprised, but to storm out like that without letting us explain. But I guess you just never really know how someone will react to different situations," Roxas sighed.

The two of them sat quietly for a few moments, "So uh, you still wanna show me what it's like being on bottom?" Axel asked hopefully.

Roxas chuckled and stood up, "Sorry, not really in the mood anymore. I'm gonna go make us something to eat," he grinned as he headed towards the kitchen.

"Awww, come on. It was just getting good," Axel pleaded.

"Nope, sorry. Maybe later," Roxas called from the kitchen.

Axel sunk into the couch and folded his arms, "Great..."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Axel sat on the couch with his legs outstretched onto the coffee table in front of him, where the crumb filled plates of their earlier lunch still sat. Roxas had his head lying in Axel's lap as the two of them watched a sitcom together. All of a sudden there was a knock at the front door. Roxas sat up and Axel turned the television off, "You guys? Can I come in?" Demyx called from the hallway.

Roxas and Axel exchanged glances, then Roxas called out, "Sure, come on in," Roxas pulled his legs into his chest and wrapped his arms tightly around them as the front door opened. In walked the tall blonde, not making eye contact with either of the boys on the couch.

"Hey guys...look, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have acted like that. I mean, I really feel like an ass. I realized this after I calmed down, and I was hoping we could talk. Ya know, if you don't totally hate my guts and all," he continued to stare at the floor and stand just inside the door.

"Demyx," Axel replied, "it's fine. It was kind of harsh, the way you reacted, but if you're willing to apologize, who are we to hold it against you?"

Demyx relaxed a little and stepped inside the apartment, closing the door behind him, "Man, this is just so trippy. I would have never pictured you two...ya know. Well, maybe Axel, but Roxas?!"

Roxas and Axel both took offense, "What's that suppose to mean? I act like a chick or something?" Axel demanded.

"Yeah, there something wrong with me liking a guy?" Roxas chimed in.

"What?! No! No! I didn't mean it like that guys! I just uh..." Demyx rubbed the back of his head, not sure what to say.

Axel grinned and Roxas chuckled, "We're just messin' with you kid," Axel said.

Demyx had never looked so relieved yet annoyed as much as he did now. He came around to the front of the arm chair he'd been hiding behind and plopped down in it, "So...is it ok if I ask some questions, or will you guys get mad?"

Roxas raised an eyebrow, "Depends on the question."

"Oh! Nothing personal! Ugh!" Demyx cringed.

"What? So now we make you sick?" Roxas prodded.

"No! That's not-" Demyx scowled as Roxas grinned once again. Those two could really be asses, "Would you quite messin' with me! Geeze. This is weird enough," Demyx sighed, "All I wanted to ask was how long and why."

Roxas flinched in a sort of shock, "Why? Isn't it obvious? Why else?"

Demyx looked at him with confusion, "Uh...because you couldn't find any good chicks?"

Roxas rolled his eyes at the total stupidity of that reply, "No! Because we're attracted to each other, and because we love each other."

Roxas could have sworn Demyx's face went a little pale, "Attracted to each other? Like...you think Axel is hot?"

Roxas laughed and rolled his eyes again, "No Demyx, I think Axel is horribly ugly. He's only good for the sex. You should really try it sometime. Just grab any random guy and give him a go. It's loads of fun," Roxas shook his head as he finished his sarcastic remark.

Demyx contorted his face into an even more confused one, "But...you're both guys. Isn't that weird?"

Axel was getting tired of Demyx's redundant questioning, "Yes Demyx. We know we're both guys," he flashed Roxas a glance hinting towards their fight from earlier, "Trust me, we're fully aware of that fact. But we can't help that we love each other, and really we wouldn't want to change it either. I mean, if he loves me and I love him, then what's the problem? So we can't have kids. So we both pee standing up. So what? What do any of those things have to do with love? Nothing. Simple as that," Axel crossed his arms matter of factly.

"I guess..." Demyx agreed timidly, "but... you guys aren't gonna try to get me to like guys or anything, are you? I mean, you're not gonna be running around in leather thongs and tacking up posters of naked men all over the walls are you?" Demyx asked worriedly.

Roxas could only roll his eyes and let his face fall into Axel's shoulder with an exaggerated sigh, "No Demyx. We're not gonna turn this into some gay bar or anything. It's gonna stay just like this. Why would we suddenly run around in leather thongs if we never did before?"

"Though it's not a totally stupid idea," Roxas wiggled his eyebrows at Axel.

Axel bopped him on the head, "We're trying to reassure him, not scare him off. Remember?"

Roxas giggled, "Oh, right. Right. Sorry," Roxas snuggled up to Axel and Axel put his arm around the petite blonde.

Demyx suddenly looked very uncomfortable, "Are you guys gonna do that kind of stuff all the time?"

Axel looked down at Roxas, "What? You mean cuddling like this? Uh, yeah, probably. You cuddle with your girlfriends don't you?"

Demyx was still giving them a slightly grimaced look, "Well yeah, but...this is just weird."

Roxas frowned, "Well I'm sorry Demyx, but we're not gonna stop just for you. I mean, sure we won't make out in front of you or anything, but if you're wanting us to pretend that nothing's changed, then you're out of luck. I'm not trying to be mean, but Axel and I are together now, and that's just the way it is. This is our apartment, and we love having you as a friend, but if you can't handle us being together, you know where the door is," Axel didn't say anything, just stared at the floor in silent agreement.

Demyx looked guilty, "No, I'm sorry. You're right. I'm the one who has a problem with it. I'm the one who should learn to change right along with you guys. So, ya know, just do whatcha gotta do. I'm just gonna have to adjust."

For a while there was an awkward silence, then finally Axel chirped, "So, who wants to order pizza?"

"Sounds good to me," Roxas smiled.

"Ya know what? It's on me guys. To make up for the way I acted earlier," Demyx added.

"Alright, but this time, could you try not throwing them all over the floor?" Axel patronized, "There're still some doughnut crumbs stuck in the carpet."

"Oh sure," Demyx replied sarcastically, "Just as long as you promise I never have to see a shirtless Roxas straddling you ever again," he mock shuddered, "Scarred. For. Life."

"Oh come on, we all know you wanted to join in," Roxas winked.

Demyx jumped up from his chair and ran at the shorter blonde who tore off into the kitchen, leaving Axel shaking his head and chuckling, "Then again, maybe nothing's changed."
