Chapter 6. Forsaken Part 2
Navi’s shrill cry seemed so far off, echoing around the misted room, the shadow of himself, eyes gleaming red, smirked down at him, sword still buried deep within the waters glass surface. Link glared at the dark shadow, bringing a knee up to hi the dark form of himself in the crotch, but missed. His darker form back flipped, diving away from him and landing skillfully on the island near the tree, disappearing into the black background.
Getting to his feet, Link charged for the Master Sword, the sound of rapid feet moving behind him only making him move faster. He rolled across the ground, his hand gripping tight to the blades handle and rolled up onto his knees, blade outstretched, the thick metal buried deep within the shadows stomach.
“Link, you did it,” Navi cried happily.
Dark Link melted into the water, yet the reflection did not return beneath Link. He looked down, suddenly feeling far more fearful than before. He turned, saw nothing, and turned again, the room swimming around him, making him dizzy. His legs shook and he took a step back, chewing his lower lips nervously.
A cold shudder moved up his spine and he felt an arm wrap around his neck, pulling him against a dark chest, breath caught within his throat, choking him. He gripped at the arm, gagging on his air, eyes wide with fear. He felt cold steel on his back and gasped, the dark blade breaking his skin and exploding through the front of his clothes, blood dripping from it’s thin point.
“LINK....”
The voice... was so far off.
He shuddered at the feeling of lost blood, eyes fluttering closed and then back open slowly, a dribble of copper liquid forming at the corner of his lips and streaking down his chin to drip onto the fabric of his blue tunic. He heard the deep rumble of laughter against his ear and a tongue slid across his chin to the corner of his lip.
“Don’t touch me,” Link said, his body shuddering.
Dark Link smirked, enjoying the taste of the supposed Hero’s blood. He twisted the blade in his back, making Link cry out in pain, tears sprinkling from the corners of his eyes. He felt pressure on his back, Dark Link’s hand pushing him off his blade. He fell forward into the water, hitting the floor hard, crimson water flowing away from his and then back like crashing waves. His body was numb with pain, his spin feeling like it had just been severed from his body.
Slowly, very slowly, Link stood, his back aching and seizing with pain, the blood coating his blue tunic making it look black. He felt his lungs stinging painfully with every breath he took, the wound so close to his lung, that it burned as his chest rose and fell. He wiped away the blood that dripped down his chin along with the line of saliva Dark Link had left behind.
‘Bastard.’
Link dove forward, his body hissing with pain as his sword contacted Dark Link’s their blades raised the same, eyes darting glare after fiery glare at one another. Link snarled with disgust, thrusting his blade beneath Dark Link’s and forcing it deep within the Shadow’s leg and out the backside.
Dark Link hissed, his red eyes rolling back in his head as he seeped into the water and disappeared. Link gasped, breathing heavily, the Master Sword feeling far heavier than usual as it clanked to the ground below the glass water. He shuddered, his shoulders quaking as pain ripped through his body, Navi fluttering close to him, examining the deep wound with worry.
“This looks serious,” Navi said, looking up at the Hero.
“I’m fine,” Link muttered.
Navi felt her wings droop as the Hylian looked around slowly, his hands strained on the Master Swords thick handle. His muscles contracted and seized with pain every time he tried to left the now heavy blade into the air. He bit his lower lip, squeezed his eyes shut, and heaved, pulling the blade from the ground with force.
Dark Link appeared.
He glared ominously upon Link, his blade held easily to the side, moving slowly forward, shield in front of him protectively. He movements quickened and he broke into a sprint, head lowered as he moved nearer and nearer to the Hero, blade raising, and with quick reflexes, swung down upon the weak Hylian.
Link barely had time to react. His body convulsed with pain as he jumped back and rolled onto the ground, leaving smears of blood across the water, the gentle glass surface shattering with his movements before reforming perfectly around his bodies intrusion. He panted, watching as Dark Link turned to him and stalked forward slowly. His eyes looked fierce and darker than the heated flames of fire.
“Navi...” Link muttered.
She appeared before him, watching with one eye as Dark Link approached slowly, taking his time. Navi turned her head to the Hylian, her hands clenched tightly into the wet and bloodied tunic, holding the Hero with all her might, not wanting to let him go.
“The bottle, Navi,” Link whispered.
She cocked her head in confusion.
“A healing fairy... in a bottle,” Link whispered, his words weak.
She understood. Just before they entered this room, Link had caught one of the healing fairies in a bottle for a just-in-case matter. This was a now or never time to use it, and the now was far outweighing the never. She nodded frantically to him and fluttered to his side, looking into the bottle where the pink glow of the fairy sat waiting.
Dark Link’s footsteps became louder, splashing within the water, his body slumped over as he neared, an insane gleam shimmering across his red eyes, the shadows of his body growing stronger as he got nearer. Link seized with pain again as his body felt the sting of his breath. He shuddered from the feeling, gritting his teeth together as he felt Navi pulling at his belt, trying her hardest to loosen the cork holding the little healing fairy within.’
She tugged hard, placing her legs on either side of the glass neck and pulled hard, grunting with the pressure until, finally, she felt it move. With a glowing smile, she tugged again, the corks jolty movements making her smile wider as she continued, the splashing stopped. She froze in cold fear, hearing the rise of a blade in the air. Her hands trembled on the cork as a dark rumble of laughter broke the echoing silence.
With one final tug, and a harsh swing of a blade cutting through air, the fairy was released, and Dark Link’s black blade came down. He roared with victory and lifted his blade to the heavens, the glow of trickling crimson blood skimming down the shaft of the long sword and onto the handle. He smirked and looked down, suddenly confused.
Link was gone from the water, his dead body no where. The shadow hissed angrily and turned... and froze cold. The burning blue eyes seared deep within his red ones, the face so close he tried to jump back, but found himself frozen to the spot by a sword. The eyes never left his as he felt the cold steel sliding deeper within his stomach, the face growing even closer to his own. Dark Link stepped back on the blade, the metal sliding within him and out, a red hue glowing on it’s shimmering edge.
“You lose.”
Link withdrew his blade, and with one last swing of the Master Sword, brought the stinging metal across Dark Link’s neck, the shadow crying out as it exploding against the water into nothing but smog. Below him, Link’s reflection materialized once again, looking just as normal as it had before. He shuddered and collapsed to the ground, his arms shaking as they held up his body from falling completely into the water.
Blood leaked down his cheek from a deep wound he had barely escaped from. He looked up at Navi who fluttered above him, her face held worry and fear. He smiled weakly at her and pulled her close, hugging her tightly. She returned the embrace, burying her small face into the shoulder of his tunic.
“I was so worried,” she whispered.
“It’s okay,” Link whispered back. “If not for you I would be gone by now.”
She whimpered and buried her head deeper into the fabric of his top, her shoulders quivering as the tears flowed down her cheeks. She sniffed deeply, trying to regain her composure. She felt Link sway and looked up at him, noticing his half-lidded gaze. Her body immediately froze in fear as she watched his eyes flutter closed and then shoot open, only to flutter closed again.
“Link,” she whispered, fear clenching his name.
“It’s okay Navi,” he muttered, swaying again. “Jus’ a little dizzy.”
She frowned at the slur in his words, looking down at his torso. In blind realization, she noticed his body losing more and more blood. The fairy wasn’t meant to heal everything, just minor things such as weakness and fatigue. It had worked, but only for a brief moment, enough time to help Link destroy the dark shadow of himself.
“You need to see one of the Great Fairies,” Navi said seriously.
“No... I’m...”
“Your what?”
“Huh?”
“Link, your what?”
“Navi... I’m so tired,” Link mumbled.
She tugged from his limp fingers and looked into his eyes, noticing that he wasn’t focused at all. His body swayed again and he almost fell backward. He caught himself and shook his head, his shoulders slumped low, hands flopped lazily into the water below. She looked around as a room materialized around them from no where. Her mind snapped back to Link when she heard a splash.
“LINK...” she cried.
He coughed, lifting himself out of the water. His legs wobbled beneath him as his heart raced within his chest, his body bleeding heavily, blood pouring from his wounds. He growled, wiping away the blood that was trickling from his sliced cheek. His eyes fluttered, water dripping from his lashes.
“You need to rest,” Navi whispered.
“No... I need to keep going,” Link grumbled.
He stood, stumbling backward as he reached out to the door. He gripped the handle tightly, turning the knob and falling through to a more dryer room. Blood dripped on the floor with every wobbly step he took. He reached out to the chest that sat in the middle of the room, opening the lid with shaking arms and looking inside.
“Don’t I already have this?”
“You have the hookshot,” Navi said, looking over the trigger-launcher. “This one looks longer.”
“So... it’s a longshot?” Link asked.
“Yep.”
He shrugged and placed his hookshot within the chest, hooking his new launcher onto his belt and walking away from the room. He dropped down under the floor, watching as a flow of water charged from the waterfall he stood beside to the wavering turns and etches it made around the corners, hiding any enemies that may be their.
“There’s no way out,” Navi cried with frustration.
“Maybe we follow the water?” Link suggested, slumping against the rock wall for support.
“No, your to weak,” Navi protested angrily. “You need rest. We should go back to the surface, ask Sheik to help...”
“No.”
Sheik... Sheik had helped him last time, saved his life. He was the Hero for Gods sake, not some weakling. He cringed at the memory of being overthrown by a simple dragon that was supposed to be dead. His heart still raced within his chest at the memory of the heat, the fear that drenched him as he looked into those acidic green eyes that gleamed so dangerously. He had been taken down so easily.
Shaking away the memories, Link limped toward the water, looking down into the long quick flow of clear crystal fluid below him. Many voids, dark in the basin, threatening to suck down anything around it, flowed down the water’s edge, pulling the clear liquid into it’s darkness. He narrowed his eyes in thought, wondering how he would get by such darkness so easily in such a weakened state of mind.
“Link... please,” Navi whispered.
He ignored her, sitting down on the edge of the platform and slipping his body into the cool water below, shuddering at the icy texture as it slid silkily passed his body. He watched as a hue of misted crimson appeared within the water, drifting away from his body and over the small falls and being pulled into the void.
Blood.
His blood.
He shuddered, feeling the weakness consume him farther, the pain rippling through every bone, every muscle and every layer of skin in his body. He swallowed, the coppery taste of his bodies essence within his throat, the stinging of his ripe blood burning at the back of his lungs like hot needles.
His bottom lip quivered as he released the edge of the dock, floating quickly down the passage of water toward the dark void. Another shudder rippled across his skin as he moved his arms, the feeling of body becoming weaker tugging at him. He groaned at the immense pain, chewing his bottom lip as it shuddered and pulling to the farthest side of the void, avoiding it as best he could.
“Link, there’s another vortex around the corner,” Navi informed, fluttering ahead of him.
He nodded shakily, his body freezing within the icy water, his lids heavy with fatigue. His bottom lip trembled again, his vision blurring as he passed the first vortex with ease, the next situated more in the centre then the last. With another swallow of his own blood, and a lap at the dryness in his scratchy throat, Link moved his arms stiffly through the water around the next vortex, feeling the tug of his clothes and body as the water sucked him nearer to the darkness.
“Be careful,” Navi cried, fear clenched within her words.
Gasping, Link reached out, his hand gripping the platform that jutted out from in front of him. He pulled himself out of the water, his body heavy and limp. He slumped against the wall for support, his legs still dangling within the clear fluid, a stream of red flowing away with the water. He shuddered again, hugging himself close as his eyes fluttered closed... and stayed closed.
*~*~*
He paced slowly, his crimson eyes darting to the sun, then to the island he stood on and then back out into his own world. He turned swiftly, pacing back the way he came, hands clasped tightly at his sides, fear dripping from every tremor of his body. He turned again, the grass beneath his feet crumpling and tearing with his boots.
Something was wrong.
He looked up at the falling sun, letting out a sigh of uneasiness. His heart seared with unknown pain, the feeling of loss quaking within his heart. He felt such pain, such weakness... but it was not his. It was something else, someone else, who was in such great pain.
“Link...”
The name moved softly across his lips, moving so beautifully it should have been a treasure. He let out another breath, the tree standing alone on the island shadowing the pedestal of the Water Temple. He looked to it, each step he took carrying him closer to the hexagonal shaped platform. With another deep sigh, he slumped onto the cemented pedestal, running a hand through his sandy bangs and under the small turban he wore.
“Link... please, let me know your alright.”
*~*~*
“Please, you need rest,” Navi cried out.
“No.”
“Link, listen to me... don’t do this.”
“Navi... I hate to say this but...”
“What, Link, what?”
“Shut up.”
She faltered. “Just take a few minutes to regain your breath at least.”
“No.”
“Why?”
He looked at her with a quirk of an eyebrow.
She looked back, eyes pleading with him to sit, to calm himself, to regain at least a moments worth of energy that would keep him alive until they defeated the Water Temple and got out. She didn’t want to see the child she was meant to take care of, to aid in battle, die because she was a bad fairy.
‘Great Deku Tree... I bet you could’ve talked some sense into him,’ Navi thought sadly.
Turning back to his task, Link watched the three sliding spikes drift back and forth slowly along the slanted platform leading up to the enemy. He had to make it up their, but risk being hit by one of those spikes and he was good as dead. He had to time his movements, make it up before they were in line to strike him.
His feet ached, his body was numb with fatigue and his heart raced like the thunder of a thousand running horses. He could feel himself getting farther and farther from reality, the light at the far end of the tunnel moving nearer and nearer to him. With a shuddering breath and the quake of his hands, he squeezed his eyes shut... and ran.
The first spike barely missed, his, cutting across the back of his boot and slicing through the brown leathery material. The second never even neared him, drifting away rather than toward, The third... he gasped, jumping with the last bit of his strength up toward the large iron door. He landed with a heavy thump, his breath escaping his throat harshly.
“Are you okay?” Navi gasped, worry in her tone.
“Fine,” Link muttered, more painfully than was meant to be.
He stood up, almost falling back down the ramp. He steadied himself, walking forward and gripped the door tightly. He took out the Master Key, the beautiful gold shine glimmering in the vast glow of the chains that held the door closed. He put the key in and stepped back as it magically (A/N: I know... MAGIC) turned. The chains dropped away, the door sliding open on it’s own accord (A/N: ohhhh, more magic). Slowly, He stepped in, the door sliding shut.
“Link,” Navi whispered.
‘Where is it?’ Link thought, looking around slowly.
He walked to the edge of the square walkway, many small platforms sitting in the middle of the odd looking water. It looked more like gel rather than water. So strange... so... intriguing. Slowly, Link gripped the rails that hung loosely from one of the platforms standing within the gel-like water. He climbed down, the thwart of water calling out to him, dazing his oceanic blue orbs.
“Link, that water isn’t normal,” Navi yelled.
He didn’t hear her, her voice a faint echo in the depth of his ears. It was so amazing, so aquatic, taunting him, swirling oddly this way and that. He reached a gloved hand down, his fingers touching the chilly surface, his pain suddenly diminished, his body lulled by the smooth texture of the blue water.
He gasped, eyes widening, drawing his hand back with a cry of shock as a long tentacle shot from within the water, wrapping around his wrist and pulling on his arm, dragging him toward the threatening swirl of blue. He shuddered, his body numb with pain once again as he was pulled closer and closer to his doom. He felt the weakness in his arms and the quivering in his legs, the jolt of pain through his lungs, ribs and spine.
He wanted out.
“Let go of him,” Navi snarled, diving at the tentacle.
It exploded, expanding into many smaller forms of itself, the biggest of them still holding tightly to the Hero’s wrist, pulling hard as the others swatted at Navi, making her dodge and jump out of the way, trying her hardest to get to Link.
The bar on the side of the platform clanked loudly, cement and rock breaking loose as it lost its hold, plummeting with Link toward the blue haze of water, the small ball of rippling red, purple and blue dancing under the filmy layer of water. With a heavy sploosh, Link his the water, his body sinking below the tugging hold.
‘What is that?’
It neared him, the blob-figure staring at him, almost intrigued. Link tilted his head to the side, his breath escaping his mouth as it seemed to be watching him, just as interested in the new figure before it. Realizing his need for air, he broke the surface of the water, gasping for breath. He coughed, blood hurling itself into the liquid along with a glob and sticky saliva.
“Link!”
Navi’s cry was so shrill and fear-filled. He grabbed onto the bars behind him, his finger latching tightly around them, his breath coming out in shudders as he watched the glob of red slime spread and float beneath the water, the strange enigma not once moving.
“That’s it, that’s the enemy,” Navi gasped. “Morpha.”
“Morph–what?” Link said, almost stupidly.
“Morpha, aan intelligent water amoeba,” Navi said, floating down to him.
It almost seemed to wince at Navi’s presence, floating backward and then forward again, closer this time. Something changed, the ora surrounding the water. It became... darker... angrier. With a cry of fear, Navi flew upward, the amoeba-thing jumping after her, a purple tinge coating it’s body.
‘Poison.’
Link instantly scrambled up the ladder, his arms shaking as Morpha returned to the water, it’s thick purple poison splashing around, burning at the platforms situated around the room, burning at the metal grates around and above Link, weakening under his weight.
They crashed into the water, Link reaching up, gripping the platform above him, muscles seizing in pain as his body hung limply on the edge. He tugged in a harsh breath, his dry throat hissing painfully as he coughed again, stomach contracting, blood spilling. With shaky arms, he hauled himself from the edge and onto the platform, gasping for breath and he flopped onto his back and dragged in gulping breath after gulping breath.
“Link, watch out!”
He gasped, rolling out of the way and kicking onto the square path that lead all the way around the pool of water. He landed heavily, his shoulder connecting with one of the many spikes that circulated the room, digging through his tunic and slicing into his skin, burning another painful hole into his already marred body.
Morpha dove through the water, almost like it was happy. The long watery tentacle appeared again, rocking back and forth before coming downward, just missing the Hero, Morpha gliding up the long slender tube of water and back down again. Link, to his own surprise, gripped the longshot from belt and aimed it at his enemy waiting for the perfect moment.
Morpha appeared, gliding up the long slender water arm.
Link released the hook.
Morpha gurgled, pulling away from the water and toward the Hero. Link gripped the Master Sword his quivering fingers, Bringing it from it’s sheath and down upon the amoeba, slicing down the middle. Morpha jolted, spitting in two and diving back into the water. It jumped, bouncing across one of the platforms and landed back in the water.
“Are you alright?” Navi whispered.
“I’ll be fine,” Link groaned, pulling his bleeding shoulder from the bloodied spike.
He stood, holding his shoulder, the Master Sword hanging limply at his side, the longshot gripped tightly in his uninjured hand. A second tentacle of water appeared, falling near him, but he jumped away. The first one appeared again, slapping at him, but missed. He fell back, Morpha appearing a second time, gliding up the tube again.
Link took aim, his arm shaking harshly, his hand unable to stay steady. He bit his lip as he fired the weapon, the long point gliding forward and drilling straight through the water to the opposite side, completely missing it’s target. He swore to himself as the shot returned. He took aim a second time, closing one eye as he hooked Morpha again, and pulled the amoeba to him.
“Die... you bastard,” Link jeered.
He thrust the Master Sword, his haze vision blurring completely as Morpha screeched and exploded. He fell back, the green-ooze from within the amoeba splashing across his face. The water glided into the middle of the room, evaporating with one final drop descending to the floor, breaking into a million shards.
“It’s over,” Link whispered, closing his eyes with a smile.
*~*~*
Sheik sat silently, one arm propped across an upraised knee, eyes watching the grass sway in the delicate breeze. He felt the shifting and looked up, watching as the water rose again, gliding idly upward, glowing in the rising sun. With a smile, Sheik stood and walked forward, stopping in the centre of the island to look up the vast glowing lake of the now replenished Lake Hylia.
“As the water rises, the evil is slowly draining from this lake... Link, you did it,” Sheik whispered.
The water glistened with all it’s worth, like small diamonds shimmering in that of a beautiful cave as they sat embedded in the walls. With a smile, Sheik sighed, letting his eyes flutter. His brow furrowed as he watched bubbles appear from beneath the surface of the lake just under the island. With his head tilted to the side, he took a step forward.
Link appeared, gasping as he broke the waters cold surface, facing glowing with the shimmer of the lakes purity as he flopped onto the edge, pulling himself up to stand in the glowing rays of the suns bright shine. He looked so... Heroic.
“Sheik...”
Sheik jolted, jumping forward as Link’s eyes leveled with his, streaks of blood running down the Hero’s wet body as he stumbled forward, eyes fluttering closed, arms reaching out for the Sheikah male. He fell into Sheiks’ arms, the ruby-eyed man holding him tightly as blood drenched his blue Sheikah clothes.
“By the Goddesses... Link.”
“You... you a-actually did... wait,” Link stuttered out.
“Yes, of course I did. I promised you I would,” Sheik whispered as he lowered Link and himself onto the grass.
“I’m glad,” Link sighed, pressing his forehead against Sheik’s chest.
“Link, what happened?” Sheik gasped, bringing the Hero closer.
“I won... that’s w-what h-h-happened,” Link shuddered, his eyes fluttering.
“Your bleeding... badly,” Sheik said frantically.
“I-it’s n-nothing,” Link mumbled, burying his face deeper into Sheik’s stomach.
“Link...”
“Just hold me.”
Slowly, azure blue eyes fluttered closed, clouding over with a heavy blur as his head rolled limply to the side. Sheik watched a small speck crystalize on Link’s pale face, the tear shattering on contact with his cold skin. With a shuddering sigh, he pulled the Hero closer, the tears trickling down his face, eyes glazed with pain.
“Hold on... my love.”
*~*~*
Clouds floated overhead, the rolling thunder enveloping the world as the haze of fire broke down on the world, crashing to the Earth’s surface and breaking the soil. Pebbles of hail rained down hard, cracking the red wooden roofs that littered the small village swirling in the heat of the darkness that was leaving them at a standstill.
The wind ruffled through the open windows of the largest house upon the village, tossing the white clothes that draped within the window, blowing down across the floor and over the bed that sat delicately in the corner, white sheets dancing and bubbling across the futon and over the body that lay perfectly still in sleep.
A door opened slowly, a blue clothed back appearing. The tall well-built male held a tray in his hands and walked into the room, kicking the door closed since both hands were occupied with the tray. He leaned down to the bed and placed the object in hand down across the covers of the silken sheets and placed the back of his hand across the males warm forehead.
“Is he alright?”
He turned to the whisper of a voice, spotting the glowing fairy behind him, her wings still drooped from when she had found her frantic in front of him outside the Water Temple two days before. She had been bobbing rapidly in the air, crying out to him for help the Hero he had held so securely in his arms, tears in his eyes.
“He’s fine,” Sheik said with a smile. “Just asleep.”
“I was so worried,” she sighed.
Sheik nodded, turning back to the Hero as he watched the blonde hair toss as Link groaned, burying himself deeper into the plush white pillow, a bandage wrapped around his forehead and down across his left eye.
“I’m going out to see if I can find any information on the other sages,” Navi whispered to Sheik, though her eyes were on Link. “Take care of him while I am out.”
“Of course,” Sheik said with a solemn nod.
Navi disappeared around the door, the flutter of her wings disappearing into the loud clap of lightening and the heavy roll of thunder that shattered the silence. Light flared across the room, cascading Sheik and Link in a blue light, the Hero’s face contorted with pain as he rolled his head to the side again groaning his pain. Sheik sighed, placing his hand over Link’s bandaged left hand.
“Sheik,” Link whimpered.
Stunned, Sheik kneeled onto the floor and held Link’s hand slightly tighter, pulling it to his lips and placing it softly against his mouth and kissed it. His eyes stayed leveled with the Hero, watching as he whimpered in sleep and turned his head, eyes cracking open blearily, staring fogged with tears at the Sheikah.
“Sheik,” Link repeated in whisper.
“I’m here, Link,” Sheik whispered, letting out a laugh of happiness. “I’m here.”
“I feel... so weak,” Link whimpered.
“Hush,” Sheik sighed, leaning up to place his lips over Link’s forehead. “Just rest.”
“Where’s Navi?” Link asked dryly, his throat cracked and sore.
“She is looking for some who might know of the other sages,” Sheik informed, running the back of his hand across Link’s marred face.
“I can’t do it... anymore,” Link jeered tearily.
“Yes, Link... you can,” Sheik said encouragingly.
“No,” Link whispered, reaching out with shaking fingers and placing his palm against Sheik’s cheek, his thumb tracing the Sheikah’s bottom lip. “I can’t... it’s to hard.”
Sheik kissed the thumbs pad softly, tears leaking down his face and onto the soft silk sheets of the bed.
“Don’t cry,” Link said with a weak smile.
“I thought I’d lost you,” Sheik whispered, shaking his head. “I... I though you had died in my arms.”
“I did.”
Sheik looked up, stunned.
Link gave him a loving smile. “But your voice... your words... they brought me back.”
“Link...”
His voice died away as he leaned down and captured the Hero’s lips in a soft kiss, their eyes fluttering closed as they deepened it together, tears leaking down both eyes as they slowly opened to look at one another as they broke apart. Link snaked his arms around Sheik’s neck slowly, his shoulders tight with pain.
“Sheik... make love to me,” Link whispered against the others soft quivering lips.
“No....” oh, God, how hard it was for him to say that single word. “Your still to weak... and you’d only regret it later.”
“I want to, Sheik,” Link said in a serious, though weak, tone.
“No,” Sheik repeated.
He found Link’s lips against his once again, the Hylian pulling him close, trying to get more from the Sheikah. He placed his hands on Link’s shoulders and pulled away, much to his own, and Link’s, disappointment. He wanted so badly to make love to the Hero, to show him how much he truly did love him... but he couldn’t. Link didn’t know what he was saying. He was caught in the moment.
“Link... we cant,” he gasped through kisses.
“Why not,” Link panted out, kissing down Sheik’s collar to the curve of his neck and shoulders.
“Because your confused,” Sheik said, gritting his teeth so as not to moan.
Link sat up and glared at him. “No, I’m not.”
Sheik sat up. “Yes, Link... you are.”
To his surprise, Link released him and sat back. He looked confused at the man and cocked his head to the side, seeing the sudden sadness deep within Sheik’s ruby orbs, the worry and the hurt. Link hated it. Why was Sheik feeling those things. He wasn’t the one that had to face that creature. He wasn’t the one dying slowly while feeling the tears burn his skin whilst thinking about the Sheikah he thought he’d never see again.
Link felt the tears form in his eyes again as they leaked down his cheeks.
“Sometimes...” Sheik whispered, “I don’t think we should be doing this.”
Link’s shoulders shook involuntarily. “You don’t know what’s it’s like.”
“What?” Sheik whispered, confused.
“You don’t know... what it’s like to have the fate of the world on your shoulders,” Link whispered, holding himself tightly. “All those people... I have to save them... all of them.”
“Then tell me so I can know what it’s like,” Sheik pleaded.
“So much pain. Not just mine, but the whole of Hyrule. All their lives depend on me, and I can feel their pain,” Link whispered, the tears streaming down his cheeks. “I have to save all these sages, save Hyrule... all while saving myself.”
“Link, I...”
“It’s hard enough to know your doing this to save people who will never remember... but having the one you love not understand...” Link let his sentence drip away into uncertainty. He bit his lower lip as more tears flowed down his face.
Sheik pulled him close, tilting the Hero’s chin up so their eyes met and leaned down, licking away a salty tear that betrayed and fell away. His tongue came to rest on the Hero’s lips and he slowly slid it deep within the caverns he had mapped out so many times, their lips pressing together passionately as he held the Hylian in his arms, calming the trembling body. His fingers stroked across the pale cheek, coaxing the Hylian into a calm moan that pleased him deeply.
He pushed Link back onto the bed, his body draped across the others that rested nude beneath the creamy silk sheets. He had had to strip Link down to tend to the many wounds the Hero had endured whilst fighting both a shadow of himself and Morpha. But now... now he could feel the arousal Link was feeling, the heavy heat of his erection radiating from the Hero’s body.
His own body shuddered with want as it began to slowly stiffened farther than he already was, the tightness in his groin making him groan with expectant lust and want. He pressed his hips downward, grinding hard onto the Hero, both males moaning their pleasure. Link’s head fell back into the pillow, his hips rising to meet Sheik’s downward thrusting.
“Sheik...” Link whispered, opening his cloudy eyes. “Make love to me.”
“Are you sure?” Sheik whispered haughtily against Link’s ear, licking it with his tongue.
“Y-yes,” Link shuddered, grinding his hips upwards.
He leaned up, gripping the base of his shirt and pulled it up over his head, hearing a low whisper of a moan from the Hero as fingers traced up his chest to the round of his shoulders. He tossed the article of clothing to the side, his body sliding across Link’s easily, pressing into the Hero’s erection.
Their lips touched lightly.
“Your so beautiful,” Link whispered, his fingers tangling into Sheik’s hair, the small turbine falling off and onto the floor. “Why do you choose me over so many others?”
“Because you, Hero of Time,” Sheik whispered, licking Link’s collar gently, “are more precious than even the most beautiful of woman.”
Link smiled and pulled Sheik’s lips to his again, their tongues slipping together so shyly it made them blush. Sheik removed his body from pressing to the Hero’s and crawled forward, deepening their kiss to one of the purest passion. Link whimpered against the Sheikah’s lips, gripping his shoulders as his body flattened up against the bed.
He gasped when he felt Sheik’s index finger slide along the length of his erection to the tip, the pad of his finger ghosting softly over the wet slit, making him shuddered, his knees weakening and legs spreading even wider than before. His body numbed at every touch he felt, every sensation that sizzled through the core of his body.
Link bit his lip, blushing heavily as Sheik moved lower, the long golden bangs of his hair tickling over the Hero’s exposed chest, making him quiver. His erection twitched as Sheik’s hand clasped around it, the thumb continuing to play with the tip. Link whimpered, bucking his hips into Sheik’s hand, wanting more out of the male.
Sheik smirked and moved back up, capturing Link’s lips in a heated kiss, his tongue darting into the Hylian’s open mouth, exploring the warm crevices. He pulled back, Link letting out a groan of disappointment, his hips bucking once again.
“Impatient, aren’t we,” Sheik whispered out seductively.
“You’re not making it very easy to be patient,” Link panted, his voice thick with need.
Sheik nipped at the Hylian’s left ear, licking the round of the lobe and moved down, pressing kisses all down Link’s chest and farther. He stopped at his left nipple, running his tongue slick over the red numb. He felt Link shudder, gripping his shoulders tighter. He licked the nub again, swirling his tongue around it, hardening it farther. He moved to the next, clasping his mouth over the red bulb and sawing his teeth across his softly. He heard Link gasp and buck once again, his hand sliding along the Hero’s length with his movements. With a growl, he pushed Link’s hips down.
“Don’t t-tease me,” Link whimpered.
“Hush,” Sheik whispered over Link’s ripe nipple. “Do not rush, Link.”
Link moaned as he felt Sheik move lower, his palm sit flat against his hip, holding him from bucking himself into the Sheikah’s still hand. He bit his lip and tossed his head from side to side, releasing Sheik’s shoulders to fist them tightly into the silky sheets, his head falling back into the pillow, mouth open as he let out a gasping moan.
Sheik swirled his tongue within the Hero’s navel, probing it gently and nipping the soft skin. He nuzzled it softly, kissing around the small area before dipping lower, his face finally coming into view of the Hero’s very aroused and twitching erection. He smiled and kissed the tip, looking up at Link. He watched as the Hylian tossed his head back again, a low whimper escaping his throat.
“Please....”
He was pleading him. Sheik smiled and took the head into his mouth, his tongue dancing around the head and over the wet slit, licking away the precum that was gathering at the top. He dipped lower by barely an inch, suctioning on the shaft within his mouth before moving back up to lick at the tip again, enjoying the exotic salty taste. He didn’t remember the Hero tasting so good when they were younger.
He felt Link try to buck again, but kept his hand firm on the delicately bandaged hip. The whimper that escaped the hero almost drove Sheik into taking him fully, but he stayed slow, taking his time. He slid lower, barely two inches and repeated his process of before. He heard Link moan and reached up his free and to clasp the Hylain’s with his own, their fingers entwining together.
Without warning, Sheik took his full, his nose buried within the soft curls at the base of the well sized shaft, his tongue sliding along the underside of the large organ and back up quickly to bob at the top. He moved down again, sucking hard at the same time. He felt the Hero stiffen and cy out, warmth engulfing the caverns of his mouth.
“Sheik...” Link whispered, panting heavily, the gold of his bangs sticking to his sweaty forehead.
The Sheikah removed the limping erection and sat up, Link’s flushed face and half-lidded eyes watching him as he drank down the Hero’s essence, smiling as he saw the blush deepen on the Hylian’s pale cheeks. He slid along Link’s body, resting carefully along the bandages and cupped his face, brushing away a few bangs that stuck oddly to his skin.
“Your so beautiful,” Sheik whispered.
Link was unable to answer as the Sheikah’s lips came down upon his, soft and loving. He melted into the contact, one hand wrapping around Sheik’s neck, the other tightening into the males hand, holding it more firmly and lovingly. They pulled apart, Link’s finger trailing down Sheik’s body to the rim of his pants.
“I think you need to discard these,” Link whispered mischievously.
Sheik shuddered, his head falling into the nook of Link’s neck and shoulder as he felt the Hylian rub the bulge within his deep blue pants. He lifted his hips, enabling Link to slide them off with much difficulty. The blue article was tossed into an unknown corner, and Sheik laid nude across the Hero’s aroused body, their erections brushing together, both moaning at the contact of flesh on flesh.
“Don’t make me wait,” Link whispered, his eyes soft and pleading.
Sheik smiled, kissing the pouting lips and pulled back before they could deepen it, moving down and spreading the Hero’s legs wide. He sat between them, and Link instinctively covered himself, closing his legs and looking away, another heavy blush coating his cheeks. He stared at the ground, away from Sheik’s face.
“What’s wrong?” the Sheikah asked.
“I’m embarrassed,” Link mumbled. “I’m embarrassed that your staring at me body.”
Sheik smiled. “Don’t be. You’re amazing.”
Link smiled softly and looked into Sheik’s truthful eyes. Slowly, shyly, he spread his legs, showing himself fully tot he watching Sheikah. He looked away again, biting his lip as he watched Sheik’s eyes roam across his body, down to his groin and then back up to his face. He glanced up and then back down.
“Gorgeous,” Sheik whispered.
Link closed his eyes and took a breath, looking back slowly. He swallowed hard and opened his eyes to stare deep into hot crimson. Sheik knelt over his body and kissed him quickly, running the back of his fingers across Link’s right cheek. He pulled away and place three fingers at the Hylian’s mouth.
Link, without any instruction, took the fingers into the warmth of his lips and sucked, his tongue sliding over the three digits, his eyes never leaving Sheik as he watched the lust flicker so thickly across those deep ruby orbs, a low and shuddering moan rippling across the Sheikah’s body as Link continued his ministration.
Sheik pulled his fingers away and leaned over the Hero. He pressed one finger to his opening, the muscles tight as he pushed it in. Link gasped, biting down on his tongue as tossing his head back as he intrusion took him by surprise. He felt himself stretching, farther and farther as Sheik’s finger dug deeper within him.
“Shhh, calm down,” Sheik whispered, kissing Link’s forehead softly.
A second finger entered, almost immediately followed by the third, the three fingers stretching and pulling at the Hero’s body. He whimpered, curling into Sheik’s chest, resting his head on the Sheikah’s shoulder as gripping tightly to his shoulders as he felt something within him get struck. He gasped, stars flashing behind his blue eyes, heat searing through his body.
Sheik struck that bundle of nerves again, and Link cried out... again.
He pulled the fingers away, much to Link’s disappointment. He gasped, startled, as Link pushed him up and onto the bed, his back striking the soft futon. Link rested over top him, his body sliding lower. He stopped at Sheik’s large erection and took it into his mouth, one hand at the base as he began to probe it with his mouth, sucking on the flesh, moistening it.
“Link... Goddesses... so good,” Sheik gasped.
Slowly, Link opened his eyes and pulled away, shuffling on his knees to sit just above Sheik’s penis. Slowly, with Sheik’s guidance, he sat upon the tip, stopping briefly to gather his breath, and dipped lower, his body tightening around the erect shaft as it stretched him farther than Sheik’s fingers had. He bit his lip, his eyes snapped shut as he slid lower... and stopped.
His breath came out ragged, his body shaking, hands dug heavily into the sheets as he sat only halfway down Sheik’s erection.
“Link... are you sure–”
“I want this,” Link whispered, his body quivering. “I want you, Sheik.”
With a nod, Sheik grasped the Hero’s hips, slowly lowering him onto the bed and knelt over him. He pulled Link’s left leg and wrapped it around his waist, his palm resting on the back of the Hero’s pale thigh. The other leg lay flat across the bed, Sheik gripping tight to the sheets as he slid deeper into the Hero. Link reached up and grabbed Sheik’s shoulders, tossing his head to the side, his body arching upward as he was filled completely.
They froze, bodies joined.
“Link... are you okay?” Sheik whispered, leaning down over the Hero.
Link quivered. “It hurts.”
Sheik looked away. He hadn’t wanted to hurt the Hero.
“We can’t do this, Link,” Sheik said, his tone serious and soft. “I’m hurting you and you have been injured enough as of late.”
Sheik began to pull out, making sure to be slow so as not to hurt Link any farther. He felt the leg wrapped around his waist tighten and stopped him. He looked won into Link’s half-lidded eyes, watching as tears slowly leaked down the corners, dripping onto the pillow. Link lifted himself onto his elbows and brushed his lips ever-so-lightly over Sheik’s.
“Please... don’t,” he whispered. “I want this... I want you.”
“Link...”
“Take me Sheik. Take me away from it all.”
“I’m hurting you.”
“No... it’s okay... it was just different.” Link smiled softly, kissing him again, very softly. “You were younger, smaller before. Now, your older, as am I, and you are bigger. It hurt, but the pain has passed.”
“Are you certain?”
Link smiled and pressed his forehead to Sheik’s. “Positive.”
With a smile, Sheik kissed Link a third time, deeply and passionately. He slid back, burying deep within the Hero. Link moaned, his hips rising to meet the gentle thrust. Sheik pulled out again, almost fully, only the tip of his erection still deep within the Hero, and back again. He felt Link stiffen, the Hylian’s body rising off the bed, his hips grinding Sheik’s as he cried out, his head tossed back.
Sheik repeated his thrust, harder than before, faster than before. Again, Link cried out, bucking his hips up to meet Sheik’s every move, making the Sheikah dig deeper into his body. He opened his eyes, the clouded mist of lust burning deep within his clear blue eyes, the love dripping from every fibre of his being.
“Sheik... so good... keep going,” Link panted.
“Tight...” Sheik grunted.
Link fisted his tight hand into the sheets, the other tangling in the mess of Sheik’s sandy hair and pulled the male into a thick kiss, their tongues darting together, dancing with one another. Their bodies rocked against one another, Sheik’s free hand gliding across Link’s body, the glistening sweat making his fingers smooth as he gripped onto the Hylian’s erection and began to pump it in time with his thrusts.
Link gasped within Sheik’s mouth, his hips bucking higher, Sheik’s erection burying deeper into his body. He shuddered, his legs going weak, spreading them wider as he felt his orgasm fast approaching.
Their eyes locked.
Heat passed through them
“Cum with me,” Sheik panted.
Link was only able to nod.
Sheik’s thrusts became faster, his body moving hard against Link’s driving deep within the Hero’s welcoming body. His hand slid faster along Link’s shaft, his pumps irregular and shaky. Their eyes stayed locked, Link panting heavily as he rocked back and forth on the soft mattress, his body glistening with sweat, Sheik’s just as wet.
“SHEIK.”
“LINK.”
The world around them disappeared, their eyes still locked, head falling back as they cried out each others names. Heat swirled around them. Link gripped tightly onto Sheik’s shoulders as his essence shot from his body a second time, coating Sheik’s hand and stomach as well as his own, his erection pulsating with release. He felt Sheik stiff against him, the penis digging deep within his body twitching and quivering as it was milked of its own seed.
Sheik collapsed on top of the Hero, his head buried in the nape of his neck, forehead resting on the soft skin. He slid his hands up Link’s slides and entwined their hands together. His body continued to pulsate with his release, the feeling of Link’s sticky semen on his hands making him smile. He untangled his one hand and brought his fingers to his lips, sucking on the creamy white fluid.
“Thank you,” Link whispered.
Sheik pulled out slowly, watching as his own semen slowly drizzled down Link’s body, over the curve of his butt and onto the white sheets. He frowned when the he noticed a light hue of pink mixed with the white. His eyes flickered to Link’s and halted on the Hero.
“Did it hurt?”
“No, it was amazing.”
Sheik laid down beside the Hylain, pulling him into his embrace and kissed the bare of his shoulder. Link smiled and turned over, curling into the warmth as he felt Sheik pull the covers over their naked bodies. He looked up and saw the uncertainty in Sheik’s eyes, his own face betraying him, eyes saddening.
Sheik noticed. “What is wrong?”
“You look uncertain,” Link whispered.
“It is against the law for two men to love one another,” Sheik sighed. “Especially if one is to be a Sheikah. I am to continue my race. I cannot do that with another man.”
“So... you do not love me,” Link whispered sadly, feeling the sting of tears in his eyes.
Sheik lifted his chin. “No, Link. I do love you... but... I think I am falling in love with you.”
Link smiled. “I’ve already fallen.”
*~*~*
The gentle flutter of wings descended from the door, heat radiating from the small fairy, her fury inflamed. Outside, the wind swirled, the storm becoming stronger as night was slowly falling on the village, just as the hatred of one fairy was beginning to expand and grow.

A/N: I had to split this chapter in two. It was just too long to keep as one. Hope you all enjoyed the lemon, their will be many more in the future now that I have been able to bed these two. And yes, people, I do know that Sheik and Zelda are the same person but I don’t care. Making Sheik his own being is something you can expand on, and that is why people do it.
I’m sorry for any spelling mistakes but it was just to long to proofread. I’ll make sure I do it next time. That’s a promise. Remember to RnR.
