Chapter six
Kain stirred and looked over at where I lay watching him and stroking the area where his ‘crown’ had been. He had been through so much in the time he had been a prisoner of the Sarafan. Anger bubbled up within me and d a d a job to fight it down. I smiled at Kain hoping that he was feeling better. Recovery seemed to be taking longer than it should and I wondered if this had anything to do with the degradation he had suffered. My heart went out to him and I hoped I would be able to rouse him back up to his old self.
Kain smiled back at him and nuzzled into my arms more as if desperate for me to hold him close and not let go. I obliged by tightening my grip.
‘Don’t leave me.’ He whispered his voice sounding small and lost as I held him. ‘I won’t, I promise just get well soon so we can return. Raziel will be sick with worry and I need you back to full strength so that no one will know anything happened.’
I did not wish for the other 5 of Kain’s sons to know what had happened. They might start thinking Kain was weak and plot to overthrow him. I couldn’t allow that to happen, he had worked so hard to make Nosgoth his own how could I let that be taken away? I vowed it would never be so.
Vorador and the other vampires had looked after us very well, bringing us humans for us to feed from. Kain was improving and was now able to feed himself properly instead of me biting the neck of the victim and bending them over Kain for him to drink. In the course of his torture his arm had also been broken and this had caused him considerable pain for a few days. I kept giving him my blood as well to try and speed up the healing process but it was still taking a long time.
‘How is your arm?’ I inquired of him still stroking hitterttered head.
‘It feels better today.’ And he shifted to a sitting position and I followed propping myself up on my arms. He looked at me and stroked my face. ‘My Queen.’ He whispered and pulled me close for a long lingering kiss. I sighed as the kiss ended and rested my head on his shoulder. He was obviously feeling better and I was relieved.
‘You’re feeling better?’ I asked looking up at his face. ‘Yes I am, I feel well enough to return to our own time. You are right Raziel will need to know that I am well. I do not however feel fully strong though, that should return in time.’
I smiled at him. With his cuts healed, he looked more like his old self and even now his broken crown was beginning to show the first signs of healing. I breathed a sigh of relief at this. He had looked so strange with it gone not like my King at all.
‘Your head is beginning to heal.’ He put his hand up to feel the broken edges which had begun to smooth over and grow again. He looked relieved. Losing this part of him must have felt so humiliating. I shuddered to think what else had happened to him in that grotty cell. I would never ask him though and he would likely never tell. Remembering was too painful for him and I knew he was trying to block out the memories of what had happened.
I knew that the pole incident I had witnessed had not been the only time. They had all taken their turns on him as I had seen their residue on him as I had cleaned him up. The thought disgusted me and made me feel sick. My poor sire, it was no wonder he had taken so long to recover, they had treated him as little more than a lump of animal excrement.
‘We should rise and feed. Then we can return to our own time.’ He stated and released his hold on me. We both dressed and emerged from the room we had not left since I had brought Kain back here bloodied and near death.
Vorador was bending over some sheets of parchment on a table as we approached. The female vampire who had brought me here to start with, who I had found out was called Umah, had been taken prisoner by the Sarafan and had been locked up for public execution. Kain’s younger self had been sent to rescue her and I hoped he would succeed. I made a mental note to ask Kain about it later when we were back at the Clan Sanctuary. While Kain had been receiving the news of Umah’s capture, we had been hidden in the room with the door closed. Vorador agreed with me that The young Kain should not know of our presence lest it caused a fatal paradox in the time stream.
‘Ah I see that you are better Kain.’ He said ‘I am glad of this. I presume you will be wanting to return to your own time?’
I nodded and indicated that we needed to feed before leaving. Vorador nodded and summoned one of the other vampires to find two humans for us. He returned a short while later with two females and we drained one each in unison. After our thirst was sated and the bodies removed, I took out the small round time-streaming device and prepared to open the portal to take us back home. Before I did, Vorador came over to me and embraced me ‘Look after him Mizariah.’ He said and turned to embrace Kain. Kain returned his embrace and after Vorador had released him and moved away I twisted the device in my hand.
In front of us a portal opened. With a last glance at Vorador, we stepped through.
Emerging on the other side we were greeted by Geroshir seated at a very cluttered desk studying some papers. He leaped up when he saw us appear and bowed low to the ground.
‘My Lord it is good to see you are safe.’ He turned to me and bowed again. Kain bid him to rise up.
‘My Lady has told me of your aid. If you will accompany us back to the Clan Sanctuary I will see that you are well rewarded.’
Geroshir’s face broke into a large smile and he bowed low to the ground again. ‘I thank you my Lord. My wife and I will be more than happy to accompany you to your home.’
He bowed low again and went downstairs to tell his wife of the developments. We followed the retreating time-streamer down into the tiny room below. Geroshir’s wife was busily putting a few things into a sack and securing it at the top.
‘Just a few personal things my Lord, I hope you don’t mind’
‘Not at all, bring whatever you wish though you will want for nothing at the Sanctuary.’ I knew that Kain was more than grateful to these two for their help as he would not normally make such an offer to humans considering most of them to be less than worthy of even a word or look in their direction, let alone any favours!
Packing completed, we stood together in a group and Kain teleported us back home. He did not teleport us to our chambers (No human would ever be allowed that privilege unless they were a meal for us) but instead we arrived in the throne room. The broken and destroyed pillars a constant reminder of the slow decemation of the land Kain ruled.
Summoning servants, Kain gave orders for Geroshir and his wife to be given apartments and food and assigned them two slaves to pander to their every desire. The time-streamer and his wife bowed their way from our presence and left us alone, bar the few slaves carrying out their duties in the throne room.
‘I never thought I would see this place again.’ He leaned close to me and whispered. I circled my arms about his neck and embraced him. ‘Come let us retire to our rooms.’ I suggested and he nodded his agreement teleporting us there in a flash.
Kain turned to look at me when we arrived back in our bedroom and I recognised the familiar glint in his eye of unfettered desire for me. He picked me up in his arms and laid me on the bed. Laying me on there he proceeded to feather me with light kisses teasing me before he bent down and kissed me deeply on the lips. I respd pad passionately, knowing that the Kain I loved was returning to me in force and the relief that washed over me fuelled my passion and I moaned as his claws caressed my skin ever so softly. I rubbed his back and reached round to remove his clothes.
Soon we were lying naked, bodies entwined the heat of our passion rising like a tidal wave that threatened to engulf us both. He was atop me now thrusting hard and deep within me and I was clawing at his back begging for his seed to be released and for my own release. With a loud cry he came deep within me and continued to thrust so that my own release could be achieved. We did not drink from each other as we often did this time as Kain was still recovering and needed all his blood.
Passion spent, we lay in each others arms and fell into blissful restful sleep.
I awoke several hours later to find Kain still resting beside me looking more peaceful than he had done for days. I smiled and stroked his face softly. His ‘Crown’ was showing more signs of healing but it would be many days before it was fully restored.
I summoned a slave and requested two prisoners to be brought from the dungeon. The slave disappeared bowing low to the ground, afraid to look up at me lest he be my next meal instead of the prisoners. I smiled to myself. I was definitely enjoying the power and status my relationship with Kain gave me. Soon when my powers were more developed, he would be declaring to the whole of Nosgoth that I was his Queen. I was looking forward to that day.
A short while later the slave returned with the requested prisoners and left once more bowing low.
I moved over to the bed while the two prisoners cowered in the corner fully realising their fate and crying softly holding each other. Pitiful, I thought and shook Kain’s shoulder gently. He stirred and sat up. I gestured over my shoulder at the two quivering wrecks in the corner and Kain rose off the bed and went over to where they were. Beckoning to me, he raised them both up and put a claw to the lips of one to silence her. She stopped whimpering out loud but her body still shook with compressed sobs. Kain leaned over and sunk his fangs into her neck. She cried out and was slowly drained by Kain who was enjoying every drop of precious blood the girl provided him with. Reaching over he stroked the other prisoner’s neck slicing the skin with his claw for me to gain my sustenance from. I bent and drank deeply from htakitaking a much shorter time to complete my task than my sire had done.
He summoned a slave to clean up the mess and also to request Raziel to come to our chambers. The slave disappeared and Kain turned to me.
‘You don’t mind do you? Raziel will need to know I am safe and almost recovered.’ He reached up and touched his healing area as he said this and look of anger flashing across his face but was gone almost before it had reached his eyes.
‘Of course not.’ I smiled, ‘take as long as you want my love.’ I embraced him then nuzzling into his strong shoulder and holding him to me.
A knock at the door disturbed our reverie. ‘Come in.’ Kain said loudly and the door opened to reveal Raziel standing there with concern and fear written all over his handsome face. Kain released me and opened his arms to his eldest son drawing him into a strong embrace.
‘Father, I-I thought……’
‘Hush now, I am here my son.’ Bending down Kain kissed Razin thn the lips and Raziel visibly relaxed against him.
I watched them for a few more seconds, before opening the door and leaving them to their passionate reunion.
I decided I would visit Rahab’s library and catch up on some of the spells I still needed to perfect. My mind made up, I set off in the direction of the library. That would keep me occupied for a few hours and leave those two in peace to enjoy themselves.
Smiling I continued down the corridor.
