After Ash defeats his opponent in round 2, Paul, Barry, Conway and the trainer with Darkrai also move to round 3. Ash discovers that his next opponent is Conway and that the upcoming battle is between Paul and Barry. Doing some research on their opponents, Barry and Paul each learn something about their opponents. When the battle between Barry and Paul begins Paul's sends out his Magmortar, who easily defeats Barry's Skarmory after it using Spikes and because of Magmortar's power packed Flamethrower. Next, Barry send out Empoleon and Paul recalls it because of Magmortar suffer damage to Empoleon's strong Hydro Cannon. Then, after a close battle, Paul's Ursaring defeats Barry's Hitmonlee, eventhough Hitmonlee got a powerful Blaze Kick, but Paul recalls Ursaring because ofEmpoleon seem to be to tough and sendsout Electivire. After a fierce battle between Paul's Electivire and Empoleon with its special ability Torrent, which increases the strength of Water type moves when it has taken severe damage, Paul's Electivire defeat Empoleon, Paul win and Barry is eliminated.



Ash send Gible, Conway send Shuckle, which use Gyro Ball. Ash tells Gible to catch Shuckle in its mouth. Everyone is surprised by this move. Gible's bite holding strong, Shuckle is unable to escape. Gible use Draco Meteor. Shuckle is heaved into the air with a now-mastered Draco Meteor. Shuckle crashes to the ground and is knock out.



Conway sends out Lickilicky, Lickilicky uses Lick. then Lickilicky counters with Power Whip by which Gible is thrown into the air. Before Conway can call any more attacks, Ash recalls Gible and sends out Noctowl once more.



Conway orders Lickilicky to use Power Whip and Noctowl uses Air Slash, which hits Lickilicky right in the face. Lickilicky then uses Thunderbolt but Noctowl quickly dodges, Noctowl uses Extrasensory to lift Lickilicky into the air and then throws it down to render it unable to battle.



Conway send Dusknoir, Ash send Gible. Dusknoir use Shadow Punch and reappears behind Gible. Gible turn around and bite the Shadow Punch. Gible bites Dusknoir's hand and, as Conway remarks in absolute surprise and shock, eats Shadow Punch. Dusknoir tries to shake Gible off but Gible uses Draco Meteor to shoot Dusknoir into the sky. Dusknoir lands, he unable to battle.

Ash, Paul and Darkrai trainer Tobia move in top 8, Ash against the Paul, his Gliscor is return.



Paul send Aggron, Ash choose Infernape. Infernape use Flare Blitz, Aggron has suffered burns from Flare Blitz. Ash then instructs Infernape to use Mach Punch, and Paul orders Aggron to use Flash Cannon, but Infernape lands the fast Mach Punch before Aggron can fire, sending Aggron flying into the wall, and knock out it.



Paul send Gastrodon, Ash recall Infernape and send Buizel. Gastrodon uses Ice Beam and Buizel uses Aqua Jet, turning it into Ice Aqua Jet to hit Gastrodon. Buizel to meet the attack with Ice Punch, causing Gastrodon to faint.



Paul send Drapion, Buizel uses Water Gun to lift himself into the air, away from Drapion. With Buizel still in the air, Drapion uses Toxic Spikes, littering the field with them and poisoning Buizel. Then, Drapion uses Pin Missile to finish off Buizel.



Ash send Straptor, Drapion uses Cross Poison on the Staraptor, and then Drapion throws Staraptor onto the ground, poisoning it with the remnants of Toxic Spikes, thus knocking out Staraptor.



Ash sends Torterra, Torterra feels the effect of the Toxic Spikes instantaneously. Drapion uses Cross Poison on Torterra, and Torterra sends Drapion away with Energy Ball. Drapion uses Poison Fang on Torterra, Torterra uses Synthesis to gain back some energy and Drapion comes to attack with Pin Missile, again, hitting Torterra and knocking it out.



Ash send Infernape, Paul recall Drapion and send Ninjask. Infernape uses Flare Blitz underground, illuminating the entire field in a bright red, alleviating the Toxic Spikes, and also damaging Ninjask. Paul tells Ninjask to use Giga Drain, but Infernape dodge and use Mach Punch, knocking out Ninjask.



Paul send Froslass, Ash recall Infernape and send Pikachu. Froslass uses Ice Shard and Pikachu to watch use Iron Tail, destroying the Ice Shard. He uses Iron Tail again and finally lands an attack on Froslass, sending her flying into the ground suffering. Paul tells Froslass to use Ice Shard again, but Pikachu is one step ahead and uses Volt Tackle to escape the ice and hit Froslass by she knock out.



Paul send Drapion back and Ash recall Pikachu to send Gliscor. Gliscor use X-Scissor, which hit Drapion. Drapion use Cross Poison, Gliscor dodge and use Fire Fang which direct hit with Fire Fang and knock out Drapion.



Paul send his last Pokemon Electivire, which attack Thundervire to all ground and followed by Brick Break which knock out Gliscor.



Ash send Infernape, Electivire starts with Thunder Punch and Infernape counters with Mach Punch, and the two attacks collide and neutralize each other. Infernape uses Flamethrower, which is blocked by Electivire's Protect. Infernape surfaces below Electivire and hits it dead-on, but then takes damage from the poison it received earlier. Electivire catch Infernape Tail and give a Thunderbolt which cause Infernape fall on ground. Refree ready to announce but Ash stop her.

Ash "Paul, now u see the real power of Infernape"

Infernape attack Flamethrower followed by Mach Punch and fina attack Flare Blitz knock out Electivire. Tobias also enter in Top 4. Ash next opponent is Ruby.

Cynthia "hey Ash, hey Paul, u two r both good trainer, I think u both make a champion in some days like me"

Ash "hey Paul, now u not again rival of me as I think"

Paul "yes Ash, now I m think of go Lake Valor, and rematch to Brendan"

Ash "ok u go, best of luck, I confident this time u win"

Battle begins, Ruby send Mightyena and Ash send Pikachu. Mightyena attack Super Fang, Pikachu dodge it and attack Iron Tail, which Mightyena catch Pikachu Tail, then Pikachu quickly attack a powerful Thunderbolt, which manage to knock out Mightyena.



Ruby send Delcatty, Ash recall Pikachu and send Infernape. Delcatty attack with Mud Bomb, Infernape dodge it and attack with Mach Punch. Delcatty fall backward, then she wake up and use Sucker Punch, Infernape take the with attack Blare Flitz which knock out the Delcatty.



Ruby send Marshtomp, which attack Mud Bomb is hit to Infernape. Infernape use Flamethrower, Marshtomp dodge it and attack Earthquake by Infernape fall then Marshtomp attack with Muddy Water which knock out Infernape. Ash send Pikachu which attack Quick Attack by Marshtomp fly then he attack Volt Tackle by which Marshtomp knock out.



Ruby send Ralts, Ash recall Pikachu and send Torterra. Ralts use confussion, Torterra start attacking himself, but by mistake he use Mega Drain and suck all energy of Ralts then Torterra use Vine Whip and knock out Ralts.



Ruby send Charizard, which attack Flamethrower on Torterra, which hit Torterra. Torterra use Energy Ball, but Charizard speed is good then he dodge it and attack with a mix of Iron Tail and Flamethrower and knock out Torterra. Ash send Gliscor, which attack X - Scissor on Charizard, Charizard take the hit then attack Flamethrower on Gliscor. Gliscor use Fire Fang at same time Charizard grab it and use Seismic Toss which knock out Gliscor.



Ash send Buizel, Charizard again try Seismic Toss, but Buizel free him and attack Air Jet, Charizard is knock out by his own attack mix with Air Jet.



Ruby send Combusken, Comnusken use Flamethrower then Buizel attack Water Gun. Both collide and both fall on ground, Combusken again use Flamethrower this time Buizel attack with Aqua Jet and both collide, a huge explosion caused when dust disappear both Pokemon Fainted.



Ruby send his last Pokemon Machamp, Ash recall Buizel and Send Straptor, Machamp is powerful but Straptor is fast, he attack Aerial Ace, which give a great damage to Machamp, Straptor then attack with Wing Attack and knock out Machamp.



Ash now reach in final and his opponent is Tobias which win all the battle with Darkrai, Ash battle in two days.
