Red vs Blue does not belong to me, sadly, nor do I make any money from this writing.

A week passed. Grif barely spoke to anyone, hoping for every footstep to belong to Tucker. None of them did, ever. He refused to return to the blue until he had an answer.
Church was the only blue he spoke to the entire time. They met in the caves once, on the third day. Grif stopped as he spotted blue armor. Church walked up beside him, not saying a word.
“Hey.” Grif muttered.
“Hey.”
Church didn’t ask him why he wasn’t with Tucker, didn’t mention what he had seen. He didn’t offer an opinion on what was going on between the two.
He asked how his day was.
Grif wondered why Church was not being an asshole as he told him it sucked.
Church didn’t ask why. He instead asked if he could help.
Still wondering why Church would be nice to him when he was nasty to his own teammates, Grif told him that there was nothing.
He wasn’t certain it was a lie.
Church gave him a nod, seeming to hesitate before he was walking away. Grif watched him go. It would be easy to follow him, to go and sit with him in blue base and wait for Tucker-
No. Why did it always come back to Tucker? He turned on where Church had gone and returned to the sunshine. He didn’t need a blue. No, he didn’t need anybody!
Tears streaked down his face.
Grif collapsed onto the couch, thankful he even made it to red base. He couldn’t hold back a single tear, body shaking as he clutched at himself. He was done. He thought he was done weeks ago; He hadn’t been able to do it.
But now he had to.
If he didn’t, he would probably break.
