More Keith
Keith forced himself to stay calm as he dropped Skye off at The Boss's room. She made it easy on him, at least; with a quick hug and a deep breath she slipped into the room, shutting the door behind her immediately. He had been rehearsing mentally what to do in case she fell apart when they got there.
The door locked from the inside, and Keith sighed. Alone again. Hopefully by this time tomorrow he and Skye would be escaping from the island, or at least from this place. He went to the sleeping quarters and laid on his bunk to think.
They could escape on the boat as originally planned, but all the things he needed for it and the fact that they'd need to get outside the base and turn the boat on without waking anyone up made things complicated. There were so many possibilities for them to escape, but all of them were risky.
He sat up straight in the bed, bumping his head on the top bunk. Rubbing his forehead, he slipped outside the base and down the path a ways until he found the place where the mushrooms grew. He broke one off at the stump and sniffed it. This was definitely the right kind. He stuffed several into his pocket and returned to his room.
