Chapter 5

That was far more difficult than expected! Where did the current head of the Zaibatsu get those fighters? Lee had won, but just barely, though he might have done better if he hadn't been trying to show off. Before the tournament, he had brought his combots in, and the tech guys had begun the typical analysis and testing. He wondered if he could go check up on them, and maybe witness some of those tests. It would be nice to know what sort of poking and prodding they were doing to his creations.

After a nice relaxing shower and getting dressed, one of the servants had come to get him. Some old man with the name Yokotami. Once Lee heard that Jin wished to speak with him, he made his way as quickly as possible to the audience room.

A smirk crossed his lips as he walked inside and made his way toward the throne. As he came to a stop, he bowed deeply. "I had not expected you to summon me so soon, Kazama-sama. I'm honoured."

"I should congratulate you for your fine performance today." Jin said calmly. "I watched most of your fights. I'm glad to see you're still in top shape."

"Of course. I wouldn't have offered myself to you otherwise." Lee glanced over at the guards. He knew his words could easily be taken as an innuendo and he'd be lying if he said he didn't mean it that way. Still, those ignorant fools probably wouldn't get it, anyway.

"I like your choice of words." Jin gave him a knowing smirk, giving his body a brief once-over. "Since you won the tournament, I will offer you a position within the Zaibatsu, as I promised. All you'll have to do is agree to the terms, and the job is yours."

That sounded easy enough. Really, after working for both Kazuya and Heihachi in the past, Lee had trouble seeing how terms or conditions could be any worse than those dreadful experiences. "To be expected. Please, name your terms."

The smirk on the Japanese's face turned eerily confident. "If I employ you, a three room luxurious suite will be provided for you. You will be paid well too. How does 20 million yen per week sound?"

Definitely a price range he could live with. Lee smiled gratefully and nodded, "It sounds splendid! Certainly something I could get used to."

"Well, then. Allow me to explain under what terms people are employed here." Jin gestured with his hand. "One: Everyone are allowed to quit, but they have to give me a week's notice. Any shorter than that, and they will spend the rest of that week in the torture chambers. Understood?"

"Yes, but I highly doubt it will come to that. I don't make a habit of quitting jobs that I had to fight for... Literally, this time." Lee chuckled to himself but quickly quieted to allow his nephew to continue.

"Secondly, if I employ someone, that person is mine. It may be a cliche, but my wish is their command. They do not discuss, they do not hesitate; they obey. If I tell them to cut off their right arm, theirs is not to wonder why, theirs is to do it immediately because I said so."

Jin pushed to his feet, ramming his eyes into Lee's as he continued in a firm, demanding tone. "I am not questioned. Neither to me nor to anyone else. If you're overheard questioning me in any form, you will be punished severely. And you do not speak to me unless spoken to. If an emergency forces you to break that rule, you shall kneel, bow and apologise before requesting my permission to speak. If it is not an emergency, then you like everyone else will tell Yokitami that you wish to speak to me. If you're lucky, I will grant you an audience. Are we clear?"

Being spoken to in that tone and the demands of absolute submission reminded Lee of his adoptive brother. The thought excited him a little. He nodded immediately, almost as a reflex. Those were terms similar to what he had been used to in his youth. Though working under a tyrany had not been his ideal choice as an older man, it was necessary. "Crystal clear, Kazama-sama."

"In all matters, it is me first, the Zaibatsu second and yourself third." Jin took a step forward. "If you do not work that way, or if you sacrifice my interests to save yourself, you're going to wish you were dead." The Japanese closed his eyes for a moment, and they reopened to reveal a softer gaze. "Do you pledge on your honour, heart and soul to serve me under these terms, Mr. Chaolan?"

"You have my word." Lee watched the man carefully, unable to hide his curiosity and interest. "I will do anything and everything you ask of me."

With a satisfied smirk, Jin's gaze settled on the older silver-haired man's body. "Guard!" He said in a determined tone. "Give me a pair of handcuffs and a solid whip."

Was that supposed to scare him? With a quirked brow, Lee considered the young man, trying to figure out whether or not he was bluffing. "Handcuffs and a whip? I hope this has something to do with my first task."

Jin lifted his gaze to meet Lee's. "It has indeed. I intend to take you up on your initial offer." He waited until the requested items were brought, then nodded at the guard. "Lead the way to the Sunset Suite." He ordered, then returned his attention to Lee. "Follow him."

Having just pledged to blindly obey everything without question, Chaolan immediately nodded and did as he was told, following after the man indicated without even a fragment of hesitation. If Jin's punishment was anything like Kazuya's, it was something he'd avoid at all costs. With a smirk, he mumbled to himself. "Your wish is my command, Kazama-sama."
