Venture into hell
Chapter ??(Yes I've lost track)-Venture into hell
The next few days in the safe house were spent gathering supplies and making crucial decisions on leadership areas. A doctor was named the leader of the group and various others, including Kat, Alex, and Miles, also gained substantial influence in the group of survivors. Kat was in charge of organizing escape plans to a town to get people into arms and fight back. Alex was in charge of supplies and scouting for supplies. Miles though, was put in charge of keeping peace amongst the survivors, along with a few other ex-cops that survived. Not like he was going to be in the Safe house that much longer anyway.
Kat had contacted a small group of ex-military officers that had set up a supply tank to hold people in it comfortably and take any survivor groups to a forming rebel base in the south. It was decided that all the women and children would be taken as soon as the tank arrived, and the remaining two spots would be filled by Miles and another doctor. It had been only a week since the attack, but now the survivors were ready to strike back.
the tank finally arrived at the safe house and all the women and children were lined up to get on, with miles and the doctor at the end. Kat stood in her spot in line with Alex until she had to get on. Nearing the door, she looked at him, "Promise me you'll make it to the camp alive?" "I will," He answered her as the two looked at each other. her spirit was still broken, but sadly, Alex could not do anything to help her except make that promise. He looked at her, "You'll be fine on the trip. Miles will be there to take care of you and do whatever he can." He hugged her tightly as she was about to board before giving her a long kiss on the lips. As the two parted, she walked into the tank and made her way over to her assigned bunk. She climbed in and laid down, looking to see who would be in the one across from her.
To her surprise, Miles was placed at the bunk across from hers. The two looked at each other before he spoke, "Looks like I won't be too lonely on this trip after all." She smiled at him, "Yeah. Same here."
