Distraction
“Don’ fall be’ind, elf!” Marri called as she walked down the docks of Booty Bay.
“I’m not falling behind, Troll.” Reign said as he disembarked. Raze bounded along happily.
Windhorn looked around. He’d never been to Booty Bay. “Wow.” He said.
“Stay close.” Marri said. “Stranglet’orn be dangerous.” She glanced towards the passage leading out of the city. “I wonder ‘ow Dammil be doin’.”
“Who?” Windhorn asked.
“Neva mind.” She said.
Windhorn paused as he listened in on some human’s talking. He tried not to look like he was listening in. He feigned checking over his armor.
“They honestly reversed the effects?” One said to the other.
“Yup. He’s human again. Isn’t that great?!” The other said. “My brother is gathering forces to capture as many as he can so we can undo undeath on them as well. We’re hoping to find my father.”
“Amazing!” Replied the first. “Good luck. I hope you find my sister.”
Windhorn caught up to the others. “Seems they’ve found a way to undo the plague.” He said.
“Bull-shit... er I mean... um...” Reign stammered. “Nonscense?”
“’o cares what dey do?” Marri asked. “Come... we ‘ead ta westfall.”
“I bet I can kill the inn keeper before they even notice we’re there.” Reign said.
“Marri, I’d like to learn more about how they did it. Something just doesn’t feel right. The very ground is speaking its dismay.” Windhorn said.
“Marri nodded. “Do ya be wantin ta catch up wit’ us in Westfall?” She asked
“I think that is best.” Windhorn said.
“Great! That leave’s just the two of us to get to know each other better.” Reign leaned close to Marri and put an arm around her. Marri looked at him with disgust.
“Release me, or ya be losin’ de equipment ta get ta know anyone better.” She said. Reign’s hand fell away.
“Right... no touching... got it.” Reign said.
Windhorn took Marri’s hand and kissed it before he teleported to Moonglade.
Marri looked at Reign. “Let’s be goin’ mon.” She said.
Reign chuckled. “You’re warming up to me, Troll. I just know it.” He said and followed her lead. “Come Raze.”
