I am Forsaken

Prin was shaking. He’d become undead? He was a member of the horde?! Tears welled up in her eyes. It was her fault. He’d died because of her. “No! It can’t be!” She cried and ran out of the tent. She ran right into a hard body. She looked up. A corpse stared down at her. In his hands was the severed head of Kal. Fear coursed through her. Was she going to die?
“Prin.” Said the forsaken. “Little... Prin.”
She gasped. She recognized the voice. Looking closely at him, she recognized the decaying face. The hole in his chest... from the dragon bite... “Eroth!” She gasped.
“Give me back Marri!” Eroth growled. “She is MINE!” He squeezed Kal’s head hard enough that he crushed it, splattering his brains to the ground before Prin.
“Eroth... what happened to you?” Prin gasped.
He grinned cruelly. “After I died, I awoke. I was dead, but not dead. I had to start over. Relearn to control the dark forces. Regain the power that had enthralled you so.” He said. “I have been hunted by those who were once my friends. Sweet Prin, I have developed a deep hatred for mankind. They are vile, putrid creatures. Like a virus.”
“Oh, Eroth.” Tears came to her eyes.
“Enough talk, Prin. I want back Marri. Give her to me!” Eroth growled. “I don’t want to hurt you. But if you stand in my way, I will destroy you to get her back!”
“You loved me once!” She said. “So how can you say such a thing?”
“Dear Prin...” He knelt before her. He grabbed her chin and licked up her cheek. She whimpered and cringed, looking away. “Look at me!” He ordered.
She looked at him fearfully.
“Look at me, Prin...” His voice softened. “The mere sight of me frightens you. Sickens you. I died for you, but that isn’t enough. Would you be able to love me like this?”
“I... I...” She wanted to say yes, but she was terrified.
Eroth looked down. “Marri can, Prin. She can love me, even as I am.” He said.
“Eroth...” Prin said.
“Give her back. I won’t lose her.” He said. “Not to anyone. Not even to you, sweet Prin.”
“Take her.” Prin said, her voice cracking.
“Thank you, Prin.” He said, standing up. Prin stayed sitting on the ground, sobbing softly.
He walked to the tent. As he reached for the flap he heard the click of a gun. Bang! He jolted sideways. He picked himself up off the ground.
“Damn you, Dwarf!” Eroth growled. “I already killed you once. Do you want to feel my wrath again?!”
“Go.” Rummy said to his bear, and it took off. A fel guard blocked its path. Eroth cast fear on the bear and it ran in terror. The fel guard charged Rummy.
“Eroth, no!” Prin gasped. “He protected Marri from Arian!”
The fel guard stopped in its tracks, a fraction of an inch from smashing in the dwarf’s skull.
“Call him off, then, Prin.” Eroth said. “I won’t allow him to stand in my way.”
“Rummy, he’s just here for Marri. He’s going to leave!” Prin pleaded.
“Maybe ya havn’ noticed the splattered remains of our dear friend, at yer feet, Lass.” Rummy said. “This isn’t about the girl anymore. This is personal.”
“He’ll kill you!” Prin begged.
“And this time, dwarf, I’ll be sure there isn’t enough of you to be brought back.” Eroth said. “Besides, if you want to think of the revenge aspect... he killed me first...”
“An ya killed me.” Rummy said.
“Ah, but that again... You killed Adonai. Right in front of Marri.” Eroth said. “I killed you in revenge for Adonai. Now you have captured my love, and if you make me, I’ll kill you to get her back.”
“Is that the undead Kal was bragging about killing?” Arian asked, coming out of her tent.
“Aye.” Rummy said. “He’s the one.”
“Well... this time, we’ll make sure you stay dead.” Arian said with a smirk
“Well, things are interesting now.” Eroth said. He pointed to the elf and his fel guard took off after her.
“Eroth, please don’t!” Prin begged.
“There’s no backing out now, Prin.” He said, turning his attention back to Rummy. “To get back Marri, I must first destroy the enemies keeping her captive.”
“What a wretched creature.” Arian said, casting a shield around herself.
“Don’t call him that!” Prin growled.
“Are you defending that... thing?” Arian asked.
Tears welled up in Prin’s eyes. “PET!” She called.
Windhorn came out of the tent. “Mistress?” He questioned.
“Windhorn... Help Eroth!” She cried.
Windhorn nodded and transformed to his bear form.
“You enslaved a Druid... interesting.” Eroth said. “Your power has grown, little Prin.”
“Prin, you’ve betrayed us.” Rummy said.
Rummy’s bear finally returned. Windhorn intercepted it. Eroth simply cast fear upon it again and it ran in terror once again.
Eroth sigh looking back at Prin. She was sobbing, her head in her hands. “For you, I spare their lives.” He said softly. “Consider it my last act of love for you.” He raised his hand and cast fear upon Arian then Rummy. He called back his Fel guard to him and rushed into Prin’s tent. Marri lay tied to the bed, sobbing softly.
“Marri.” He said, running to her side.
“E...Eroth?!” She gasped. “You’re alive?”
“Soulstone, my love. A wonderful creation.” He said as he untied her. He tossed her armor to her and went back to the flap of the tent. Looking out he feared Arian, Rummy and his bear again, then ducked back inside. “Are you hurt, my sweet?”
“Not really. Just a little sore.” Marri said.
“Let me guess, Windhorn?” Eroth asked. Marri nodded ashamed. “No need to be ashamed, my love. And please harbor no ill will towards the Tauren. I know what Prin is like. Windhorn had no choice but to do as she commanded.”
As soon as she was dressed, Eroth drew her into his arms and kissed her. “I’ve been so worried, my love.” He said.
“I’m okay, Eroth.” She said. Eroth took her hand and hurried out of the tent. He cast fear on the Arian, Rummy, and the bear again and started out of the camp.
“Eroth...” Prin said. Eroth stopped and looked back at Prin. “Take Windhorn with you.” She said.
Eroth raised a decayed eyebrow. “Prin?” He asked.
“He’s served me well. As thanks, I free him.” She closed her eyes and cast a spell. The golden collar vanished. He gasped as his free will returned.
“Come, druid. We must away.” Eroth said. Windhorn did not need to be asked twice. He was quickly to them.
“Farewell, Prin. Please... allow your heart to let me go. I am long dead. Find new love.” He said. “You deserve it, little Prin.”
Prin watched them vanish into the night. She dropped to her knees and sobbed.
