A Dying Curse

**Okay, here's the deal. I had to graduate... then I had to move and get a real job. I finally remembered about this forever and a day ago story... OOPS!!! to all those who started out with me, I AM SOOOOOO SORRY! But finally I'm going though and revising the end of the story. PLEASE FORGIVE ME!!**

As the dagger hit home, Link fell forward,a drop of blood bubbling from his mouth dying silently as realization filled his eyes before death clouded them. Out of all his great battles and victories, a simple dagger straight to the heart had defeated him…

(Malon shivered at the memory of a dying Link, still fully seated inside a damnable horse… but it had not been a horse. )

A horrible scream of rage that could come from no mortal being shook the air,it was the terrified and angry scream of a thousand generations of horses tearing from the very walls it seemed. So intense was the noise it forced Malon to sink to her knees with the strange force of the scream, her hands immobilized at her side, unable to protect her long, vulnerable ears.

The ‘horse’ Epona began to shed her fur, her body looked grotesque as it folded and cracked, the joints turning at funny angles, one hoof kicking the body of Link so hard he hit the back wall with a sickening crack, limply falling to the floor.

The screeching stopped, leaving a defining silence behind in which Malon, on her knees, faced a hideous horse like woman with a face further contorted by rage. "You, woman, have ruined thousands of years of planning! Have ruined thousands of generations of careful breeding so I could finally be released from this hideous body!"

With another terrifying screech the Thing threw Herself at Malon, blunt fingers ending with ugly black nails arched and in aim for the Hylian woman's throat.

Malon fell backwards in an attempt to escape the attack, but the Thing kept coming for her, grabbing her arms and forcing her all the way down so her legs were twisted painfully back along her body. "Vile creature from hell!" Malon hissed though pain clenched teeth.

The Thing could only screech again, ending it by biting Malon's shoulder and kicking what qualified as Her knees into Malon's exposed body. Malon responded by curling her arms back to claw at the flesh of Its arms, twisting her own body painfully from one side to the other to free her legs or dislodge the Creature from atop her.

They rolled over and over, both females biting and scratching and kicking, knocking over something that shattered filling the air with more noise and the stench of oil, pulling at hair and ears, jabbing fingers towards eyes and screeching like banshees.

But Malon was tiring quickly, where the Thing seemed to have endless strength and hardly a scratch to show for their struggles. The smell of burning hay filled the air and fear filled Malon, but resolve as well. If she was going to die, she would take this Thing into hell with her, where it belonged.

It pinned the Hylian woman down finally, grinning sadistically as her strong, ugly, fingers closed around Malons throat, crushing the flow of air in seconds. Malon's own hands were gripped limply, uselessly around the throat of the Demon Spawn.

Her vision narrowed, her lips and hands began to tingle, the Thing leaned closer and breathed its foul breath in her face, Malon barely even registering the smell for the lack of feeling and air that was spreading through her body. "You go to hell now, petty woman, and everyone shall think it an accident for the burning lamp you knocked over," the Creature stopped to laugh, a kind of whinnying coming from her throat as Malon completely lost control of her hands and they slipped to the ground, her vision going black, "with your pathetic Hus-"

The Thing stopped talking mid-sentence and Malon felt something warm fall onto her face. An audible thump shook the Body above her, and the grip loosened as the thing fell on her.

Air rushed painfully though her throat, filling her body. Pain seared along her right arm, but she had trouble orienting where she was, or why the crushing had stopped.

"Malon! Malon, baby girl!" a voice sounded far away as the searing engulfed her whole arm and the side of her body. The Body on top of her was shifted off and more air was able to slide past her aching injured throat and the feeling in her extremities was coming back, the searing pain intensifying as her vision came back.

Above her, dragging her by the arm that was not hurt, was the plump form of her father, the cross bow that she had discarded slung over one shoulder as he pulled her quickly.

Suddenly she screamed, the pain in her arm and heart too intense to bear. She fought her father, trying to shake his grasp and stand on her own. He bent down and helped her up, slinging an arm around her waist to guide her.

Again she fought him as soon as the world stopped spinning. She tried to turn, to run back into the barn that was now burning brightly and intensely, crying over and over, "his body! I need to go back for his body!"

"Don't be a fool girl!" Her father yelled and with a surprising strength lifted Malon over his shoulder, carrying her to the outside and somewhat fresher air. Taking her to the middle of the field, he dumped her on her butt and turned back to the barn.

Before he took two steps, a horrible, terrified and pain filled shriek filled the air, exploding the barn walls outward in a few spots, fire engulfing every open space within that they could see.

"Your family is cursed, Horse Lovers! Forever shall my spirit haunt these la-" the terrible, terrifying, screaming litany was cut short as the entire building exploded into a fiery inferno, the screaming quadrupling in noise and going into a higher and higher pitch until Malon thought she could feel her ears begin to bleed. The pitched kept going up, and the sound faded after a moment, and so did the fires intensity.

Malon sat in her upstairs room and watched as the last of the new barn was built, rubbing her rapidly expanding belly.

Twins.

That was what the witch-woman had said a week ago when she had come to bless the grounds against evil from ever returning. Strong and healthy twins, not at all affected by the immense trauma that had been the very early stages of their incubation within Malon.

Scars covered most of Malon's right side now, crescent moon shaped bite marks marring much of her shoulders and nicks were missing from her ears now. She kept her hair short, barely to the bottom line of her long and scared ears.

But she had lived, and now her children would. They would know of who their father was and not his obsession, or maybe possession, by the demon that had so long lived upon this ground.

The babies stirred within her, the bumps of what would be their hands and feet racing across Malon's taunt skin.

"Soon my loves, soon you will come into our world and fear nothing."

**Okay, review if you liked it, and screw you if you don't, and tell me how much you hate me because I took FOREVER!**
