Chapter 4
Chapter 4
-------------
Nabooru felt her blood run blood. ‘Figures the bastard would do something like this.’ She thought as she gritted her teeth.
There wasn’t enough time to gather the girls and supplies. If she was lucky she could gather few supplies and sneak Link out to the temple. Quickly she slipped away from the party.
“Mother what’s going on?” Link asked the second she walked through the door.
“There is not enough time to explain. Pack some clothing, your bed roll and plenty of soap.” she added as she tore through the dresser draws and tossed more clothing into the bed. “You need to hurry Ganondorf is coming. I’m going to go get you some rations… you’ll need to be careful with them I don’t know when I will be able to send you more.” Nabooru quickly grab her son and hugged him. “Hurry!” she hissed and ran out the room.
Almost colliding with the dark prince himself.
“Nabooru you look ravishing as always.” He said as he twisted a piece of her hair between his fingers.
Nabooru couldn’t breath. The monster was less then 30 paces from her pup. “Ganondorf… I though you wouldn’t be arriving until sunrise.”
“Well you’re eyesight is failing you in your old age Nabooru.” He said with a smirk. “The sun has already begun to rise.” He gestured towards the desert.
“So it has.” She said as she watched the first rays peek over the dunes.
“Were you in there alone?” Ganondorf asked eyeing the door with fascination.
“Oh course I was.” Nabooru said. Thankful of all her years of training that had help her control her voice and keep it from wavering.
“You speak to your self now? Are you senile?” he asked laughing.
“I was merely going over a few things to make your stay more comfortable.”
“If you truly wish to make my stay more comfortable you will line your rooms with the soft pillows and send me your most lovely girls. You’re a bit to old for me now aren’t you Nabooru.” He laughed.
‘Thankfully.’ “Of course my lord. I will have a bath prepared for you and by the time you are clean and refreshed I will present to you the line of girls that have come of age.” She said as she bowed down respectfully.
****
Nabooru felt her stomach twist and slither like a pit of vipers as she went over all the preparations for her dark lord, he would never be her prince only someone just and fair was worthy of that title, and that was her son.
“Nabooru where are you going.”
Nabooru felt her anger boil beneath her skin. She had prepared his room, and his bath, endured his cruel jokes on her behalf, unpacked for him she even undressed him and settled him in the bath.
“To prepare the line.” She said as she was about to walk out the door.
“No your not.”
“I’m not my lord?”
“You have yet to wash your prince.” And he settled more comfortable in the tub.
“But I have to go prepare the line.”
“You can inform the others prepare the line after you bathe and dress me.”
“Yes my lord.” Nabooru said begging to the god’s that she would have enough time to warn her pup.
--------
“Now you can go prepare the line.” Ganondorf said as he appraised himself in the mirror.
Nabooru wanted to growl at the man. Instead she bow down respectfully and seem unhurried in her escape. Not wanting to arise any suspicion.
Nabooru gaped in shock once she stepped of the room to find all the girl of age bathed dressed, veiled and painted waiting for Ganondorf to appraise them.
“We though it would gain you some time.” Nane said.
Nabooru felt her eyes water up as she looked and her warriors they were all sacrificing themselves and there daughters to save her son.
“Thank you,”
“Here.” Nabooru looked at the healer as she placed a pack filled with a month’s ration and her pups skin creams and potions. “You better hurry we can’t hold the bastard off for long.
Nabooru nodded and hurry over to her son’s room.
She found him sitting on the bed. Still as a stone waiting orders.
“Here are all the supplies you will need,” she said as she shoved the pack into his arms.
“Mother?”
“I’m so sorry about all of this.” Said almost cried as she held him close.
“Mother please explain.” Link begged.
“You need to go to them temple for some time. When it is safe I will come and get you.”
“You want me to hide like a coward.”
“I want you safe and far away. This man is a monster. He would do things to you that should never be imagined. Tell me you understand.”
“I understand.”
“Thank you when you can’t hear any noise sneak out and run to the temple.” She gently kissed his forehead and whispered a prayer for their goddess to keep him safe. Taking one last look at her beloved pups face she quickly rush out of room and hurried back to the ceremony.
******
“Where have you been?” Ganondorf asked with a bored expression.
“Sending orders to prepare the joining feast for when you choose your new bride my lord.” She said bowing. ‘Or better known as our feast that we were able to save our daughter from evil clutches yet again.’
Ganondorf nodded as he started to walk the line. Mumbling to himself as he poked and prodded and treated the girls as live stock.
Nabooru had started to clench and unclench her hand. The winds had picked up making more noise then usual. They only need a few more minute then her pup would be safe, no girl would be taken from the line and Ganondorf would leave the dessert. Everything will be fine.
“Which girl is your daughter Nabooru?” Ganondorf asked as he eyed a very slim girl and the end of the line.
“What?” Nabooru could hear her heart pounding in her ears.
“Your daughter?” Ganondorf asked as he turned towards her. “She is part of this age group. Which is she?”
“My… my child is the temple keeper. Currently occupied with the preparing a trip to temple to full the required duties.”
“Bring her to me. I want her as part of the line.”
“My lord I don’t she the difference that one would make. My child is the temple keeper fully obsessed with duties. Why not-”
“I want all the eligible brides here. Bring her to me.”
Nabooru felt her heart clench in defeat. “My child will need time to
prepare. The proper preparations weren’t taken.”
“I have all the time in the world.” Ganondorf said as he elegantly plopped in the throne that had been dragged out side for him. While very young Gerudo’s of the shaded and fanned him.
“Yes my lord.” Nabooru bowed and went to retrieve her son. Her heart clenching tighter with each step.

Link had just exited his room when he saw his mother walking towards him. The pain that shown in her eyes clutched his own heart making it heavy. “Mother?”
“I’m sorry my son I tried. He wants you as part of the ceremony and I can not deny him. You most bathed quickly. I will dress you.”
Link nodded and went to the bathing corner of his room. Since he was male and not allowed to bath with is sisters he had invented an interesting contraption that when you pulled the lever water would pour out of a spout from the ceiling.
Nabooru felt herself hold back tears as he quickly started to prepare her son ceremonial clothes.
She had only ever sent them to be made to make him feel more accepted he had been sad all those years ago when his sister had been given beautiful clothes to be apart of a ceremony where they would find love and happiness and he had been left with nothing. Who would have guessed that the clothes that had made him feel accepted and wonderful would most likely end up being his death shroud.
The only way to describe it would have been the male version of bridal attire. Beautiful white pants with beautifully emborded sliver belt made with a rare and delicate martial called silk He would were no top revealing every inch of his masculine chest.
The attire might have been one of a bride but he would look like a graceful warrior on sent down by the grace of the gods to impress them with his beauty and skill.
“Mother?”
“Dress in your bridal wear I will comb your hair and paint your eyes.”
Link nodded and quickly put on the water like material. He wanted to sooth his mother as she pulled his hair into a ponytail and started to paint his eyes. But he was at a lost at what to do. Never in all his years had he ever seen his mother cry.
“There.” Nabooru said a put the final touches on his eyes. “Your beautiful my son.”
“Mother it will be alright.”
“I’m sorry my son I’m so sorry.” She cried as she hugged him. “We’ve delayed long enough.” She said after a few moments she gently tied a matching white veil around her mouth. “It’s time.” She started leading her soon to the line.
As she watched him take his place he’s word haunted her. ‘It will be alright.’ How could it be aright when she was handing her only child over to the devil?
