Chapter five: Krypton's Deal With Maya.
" You defied me!" Krypton stared wide eyed at Maya. Who hung her head before a furious father. He glared at Maya and turned to Krypton," And you! You will not let her in combat! My orders were that you take her down to safety!”
Krypton had to stand up for himself.” Well tell that to the liftsman!” Krypton spat." We were under the impression, Lethkorious, that until the invading goblins were killed that the lifts were off limits." He explained.
“Oh..uh....carry on then, Shadow Knight....uh....give me that!” Lethkorious yanked Maya’s staff out of her hands. She glared at him and turned, walking quickly from the area. Krypton did not say a single word. He followed Maya.
“ The goblins are gone. So please let us through.” Maya began to the gaurd.
“ Right then....go on down.” He said and eyed Krypton. Who shook his head. And stood with Maya in the Elevator. his sword cased at his side, bow and quiver upon his back. And his eyes still locked on Maya.
“ Trees. I never could abide trees.” He muttered to himself as the reached the forest floor.
“ There is nothing wrong with trees. Krypton.” Maya said. Then stopped walking. Looking at him she lifted her hand in the path direction.” After you.” She said.
Krypton nodded and walked infront of her. Maya followed aways. It was already daylight down under the trees. And Maya knew there was fighting ahead.
The group of elves shot the last shot of arrows and turned to eye the Knight coming towards them.
“ Aren’t you a little overdressed for a stroll through Faydark Forest.” Started one of the elves.” Well maybe you haven’t heard. But we’re fight orcs today.”
“ You’re words are wasted on this one Eurdain.It is but another fool who thinks to be hero,. When will Lethkorius stop sending them to us? They don’t come prepared. They don’t follow orders and they don’t bath.They're more trouble then they're worth. Mark my words. We’ll end up burrying this one with the rest of them.”
“ With your charms, Hathnul. It’s no wonder we don;t get any of Faydark’s Champions. Forgive my friend. But he does have a point. If you’re here to do battle you’re going to have to better equip yourself.”
" The Heartwood master would not be pleased to hear yur words Koial. This Knight has come to do battle at my father's request. Forgive Koial's words these are dark times for us all. I'm Elgoain, leader of the elf betalian and son of Lethkorious." He said and smiled at Maya, who peaked out from behind Krypton. And smiled back at him.
"I am just here to escort your sister to the Plaine of Air. " Krypton said.
" Ah yes, the dark elf. I see. Well to get to the Plain of Air. You must make a long journey. Go down to the Underdark. Where Gnomes reside. There you must get a boat and take it to the Pit Of Ill Omen. Obtain the horn there. That will take you to the Plain of Air. " Elgoain explained.
Krypton blinked and looked back at Maya. " Where is the entrance to the Underworld? " He muttered to her.
"I don't know." Maya whispered back.
" I have a guild set up for you. However I ask only this. That perhaps we can help eachother. I can get you both a guild, but before I do we'll need to clear a path for you. But first you must clear the dungeons of goblins. Then report back to me, then I'll see if you can handle a group of orcs." Elgoain said.
Before Krypton could talk Maya's voice rang out," We'll do it."
" Alright then. Here, Maya you might be needing this." Elgoain mused. Tossing her a staff.
She smiled." Thanks. Lets go, Krypton." She said and started into the trees, where the sound of a battle could be heard, Krypton stared at the heartwood master's son once more then quickly followed Maya. Summoning Boner.
" Maya!" Krypton called. Grabbing her staff. Maya glared and turned holding just as tightly onto it.
" Let go, drow!" She snapped.
" Your father does not want you to fight." Krypton stated. Glancing quickly over to Boner. He had started hacking away at a couple of fire bealtes.
" What is my father paying you?" Maya asked abruptly catching Krypton's attention.
" Well...uh...come to think if it he never...mentioned some sort of reward...for...."
" I'll make it worth your while. Anything you ask, I'll do. But you have to let me fight." She tried to reason.
" Anything, eh?" Krypton thought about it," No! Can't go against...."
" What do you care he's not paying you. So technically you don't have to obey." She explained.
" Alright, fine. You've convinced me. I'll let go, but you have to share a blanket with me tonight when we rest for the evening.And you have to fill me in as to why you were having an affair with an aimanl, Deal?"
Maya took a deep breath and nodded offering her free hand to shake his. He accepted." By the way I meant your body heat with mine. I never said have sex with me. It gets cold at night here in the Faydark,and I do not intend on sleeping in this heavy armor." He explained.
Maya nodded, his grip on her staff lifted. She took it back." Looks like Boner is having some fun without us." She mused. Looking at the Skeleton, who had killed the fire beatles and walked over to his master and handed him a few fire bealte eyes.
" What are those for?" She asked.
" The best way to make a fire is to shatter a one of these on an object. I was out so, Boner went and fetched me some more." He said. Drawing his bow and sliding an arrow from his quiver.
His ears twitched slightly.And he senced goblins approaching. He aimed and shot. From behind a bush a poison gas cloud splayed out. A couple goblins stumbled out coughing, one having an arrow sticking out of his shoulder. Maya readied her staff. But Krypton drew his sword and ran over to finished the goblins.
" You're insane!" Maya shouted." You could get yourself poisoned."
" The poison came from my arrows. Therefor I am rendered ammune to it. You are as well. If I choose it of course."He said with a smile under his helmet.
" Things seem so much less complicated before you arrived." Maya said to him. He glanced at her and smirked.
Authoress note: I try to do as best as I can to get the speaking between the actual Characters that aren't mine. Like when Elgoian talks. So bear with me. I'm not the best at this sort of thing. By the way thanks to the reviewer.
