chptr. 5
The next morning Raiden was woken by the shimmering sunlight that was flooding the room. A soft breeze blowing through the half-opened window made him pull the blanket over his tousled hair. What now? Getting up seemed to be too much efford and so he just laid there, thinking about nothing. Then it occurred to him that they would be infiltrating that special tanker tomorrow, what led his thoughts to Snake. He was gone, he should've known...
Raiden couldn’t remember what Snake had told him where he and Hal would be that morning.
After another twenty minutes Raiden tumbled towards the bathroom. That silence all around wasn’t that bad at all, he thought and tried to smile. Yeah, not bad, but it made him think about several things and that wasn’t good neither.
After nearly falling asleep in the shower he made his way to the kitchen. There, on the kitchen table he found a note:
“observing mission target, back ‘bout 1 p.m., good morning”
“We’re making progress, huh?”
Raiden grinned and felt a little guilty because he’d been denying Snake… well, whatever he wanted to do with him, yesterday. Raiden blushed but wondered how – in fact – it would feel to be touched by Snake. Not just his chest, but also the rest of his body. A small but rapidly growing part of him really wanted to explore those so far unknown parts of his sexuality. He grinned and hoped - begged - that Snake would start another try today.
“I’m ready”, he whispered. Then he found himself his cornflakes and confidently wolfed them down, while he tried to suppress the idea of what might happen if Snake wasn’t willingly to try again – after all he had pushed him away twice.
After thirty minutes Raiden was done in the kitchen and he slowly walked into the living room, where he collected all the mission plans and notes and piled them up to a tidy stack. Then he lingered on the couch but wasn’t able to concentrate on a TV program.
That living room of Hal had a two-side window front, with glass from the floor up to the ceiling on it’s south-western and western side. Raiden turned off the TV and moved towards that window, staring at the New York skyscrapers.
“Are you angry?”, he asked the small white cloud that was hanging over the Central Park.
He must be angry, the boy thought, he must be very angry.
Raiden suddenly was afraid of the upcoming things. Oh yes, he wanted to get to know Snake better – physically, and he wanted to feel that unbelievably strong feeling. But did Snake as well? He didn’t seem to be the type of guy who easily fell in love. That’s why Raiden had been hesitating to tell Snake he loved him, last night. Declaring their relationship as based on love was even confusing Raiden himself. What might icy Snake say then? He couldn’t do anything but to let the matter just take its course. Wait and see…
It was five past one p.m. now.
At about 1:20 p.m. Snake returned – without Hal, who had to finish some other business. When Snake entered he first didn’t notice Raiden. The younger one was oblivious to his return too. But when Snake turned and saw that shadow on the metallic-grey sofa his gaze got stuck to Raiden’s dark-blue shorts.
Raiden was illuminated by sunlight, his face unbelievably sad. Snake tumbled and leaned against the wall. There was a sudden impulse of fear. The fear of loosing grip, slipping into a feeling that grew stronger the longer he looked at Raiden. That longing for the boy, the intensifying wish to hold him close made the man shiver. Snake didn’t notice that he moved until he stood right behind Raiden who still hadn’t noticed. But when the younger one lowered his head and raised his hand, Snake laid the arms around his hips and put the head onto his left shoulder.
Raiden winced at that unexpected company. At first he wasn’t even sure about this to be real. Well… he’s been thinking about a lot and this wouldn’t have been his first hallucination but whatever… it was real.
When Snake’s grip tightened he felt a relief, at least he wasn’t becoming mad.
A pleasant feeling expanded through his body.
The sunlight broke on Raiden’s pale skin and Snake closed his eyes, memorizing each detail of the his face. His hands trembled under Raiden’s shirt when he felt the younger man’s hands above his own. But instead of removing they led Snake’s fingers across his chest. Raiden smiled in delight and guided Snake’s hands lower onto his hipbones.
When he felt the waistband of the boy’s shorts Snake bent his head slightly toward the blond man’s and whispered softly: “I love you”
Raiden closed his eyes and a silent tear ran down his face, his first and his last ever. With a nearly suffocated voice he replied: “I love you, too”
“Then why are you crying?”
Snake turned Raiden’s body and smiled.
“Why?”
Snake put his finger on Raiden’s face and drew a line right under his eye and moved up his forehead.
Raiden tried to speak.
“-want you…”
“I want you”
Raiden smiled in devotion. “I want you”, he repeated more certain.
Snake leaned forward and they kissed shyly. Snake moved his hands slowly up Raiden’s back, painting small circles with his fingertips. Raiden’s lips wandered along the older man’s neck, making their way up to his ear. “Teach me something I don’t know”
When Snake felt the boy’s warm breath next to his ear an arousing wave caused him to shiver, weakening his resistance.
“Want me? Like -want me-?”
“Uhm… yeah…”
They both sank to the floor.
Snake pushed Raiden who laid with his back on the ground, further towards the fluffy blue carpet behind him, not stopping to kiss him though.
Raiden first was confused about being forced to crawl backwards - until he reached the carpet - which was quite a relief for his back and spine. The floor was slightly cold and very hard.
Snake leaned against the sofa’s back and pulled Raiden closer.
They started kissing anew and the boy cuddled closer into Snake’s arms.
Then the older man slipped his hands again under Raiden’s T-shirt and took it off.
Snake’s fingers wandered slowly into the boy’s shorts.
Raiden closed his eyes and stopped breathing for a second. Then he smiled, not knowing what to do and Snake stopped a second, giving him time to get by with his situation. The boy slowly stripped off the older man’s shirt.
Snake looked at him, longing. He touched the waistband of Raiden’s shorts and pulled them down. He had to calm himself and suddenly thought about how insecure that boy’s been yesterday. Good work, he told himself and when their gazes met Raiden’s eyes had that shining, lovely expression they usually had when the boy was feeling confident and exited about something.
Snake leaned forward, bending over the now totally undressed Raiden and softly pushed him to the floor.
The younger man pulled Snake’s face closer and kissed his forehead.
Then he placed his hands on Snake’s pants. Snake returned his smile...
