"You know..." Ash said nervously. "You've really been great tonight."
"I don't really feel like it..." Chris confessed. "I felt like I was going to pass out or throw up the whole time."
"But you didn't," Ashley insisted. "You got through it. You got ME through it."
He had said so much to her when it seemed like one or both of them was going to die... now that the threat had passed, he couldn't seem to find the courage to say what he needed to. "I was really just lucky."
"You were more than that. You were strong. Stronger than I ever thought you could be." She looked down shyly. "And you were willing to die to save me."
