Akihiko X Mitsuru

 

Mitsuru was silent a long while. Akihiko allowed her the time to gather her thoughts. She got up off her bed and stared out her window for a minute before speaking.”Akihiko, we've known each other a long time. We've been through so much together. “What are you saying? The fighting's over. We've won. What else could there be?” Akihiko seemed genuinely concerned, as if Mitsuru was about to give him some really bad news and say that the Dark Hour wasn't really gone just yet and they had to fight some more.

“You misunderstand me.” Mitsuru chuckled, turning to face him. “Let me explain. We've been fighting so hard for so long, I didn't have time to think much about it. However, now that the battle's over, and no shadows are left, I've had more time than ever to think about this. To think about us. I guess what I'm trying to say is, I feel the best when I'm with you. You seem to understand me more than any of the other S.E.E.S. members ever could, and I...” Mitsuru's voice faltered.

“Mitsuru are you saying... I mean, what exactly are you saying?” Akihiko seemed on his guard.

Mitsuru's cheeks flushed so red that it nearly matched the color of her hair. “I guess I'm saying that I want to stay together with you. If you would like that too.” She said softly.
