Disclaimer:
I do not own Baten Kaitos. I do not make any money from these writings.
Four months later
The living creature inside Kalas was getting bigger and bigger, and it was getting to be insufferable. Kalas could barely sit up in his bed in the mornings. He'd seen a few heavily pregnant women in town before, and he assumed they were about to have their children.
But how long was a woman typically pregnant? Nine months? He was only like this for less than half that, and already his stomach was huge. But then again, he wasn't carrying anything human, so who knew for sure.
"Oh, better get up. Don't wanna be a bed-wetter too."
As he stumbled outside and did his business, Kalas noticed his unborn child was more restless that usual. It usually made a little movement here and there, but nothing like this.
"Hey, knock it off," he said, lightly hitting his stomach. Didn't seem to do much. The creature kept moving around as he walked back inside, maybe even more now. Kalas barely made it into the living room before collapsing. He knew now why the creature was restless. It was time for it to be born. Quickly shedding his pants, he spread his legs apart.
He began sweating, for fear that it would hurt immensely. Kalas was frightened. He may have been scared of the dark when he was a kid, or his voice breaking when he began puberty, but now he had to get this thing out of his body. It came slowly, taking its own sweet time.
"Ah! Agh...Oh, god! Hurry up, dammit! Aaaaahhh!"
Kalas writhed in pain as the creature wriggled out, and it was an awful process. Kalas was sure women had more pain, but he also knew that they didn't have their babies naked, alone, and on the cold floor. He began pounding the floor with his fists, like it was supposed to alleviate the pain. Heavy breathing and getting red in the face went along with the sweating and crying.
"Ow...ow...ow...Painful..."
It was long and arduous, but finally, it felt like it was almost over. Kalas howled out one last time before closing his eyes. He didn't open them again until he felt something crawl onto his chest and make a distinct noise, like a high-pitched cry.
He saw a strange creature looking at him. It was dark blue and wet from his insides. Surprisingly, he wasn't repulsed by it. In fact, he began to smile.
"Hey, little guy," Kalas said as he put his shaky hands on the strange creature. "Welcome to the world."
The strange creature made the noise again, seeming to recgonize the person who brought it forth. Kalas snickered a little.
"You know," He said to the creature, "for something that came outta my ass, you're actually kinda cute." He then sniffed the thing. "Even if you smell really bad."
So in the end, instead of killing something, Kalas ended up bonding with it. He decided that taking care of something wouldn't be so bad. After cleaning it up (it turned out it hated cold water), he put it on his bed and saw it curl up into a ball. He smiled at the cuteness it was already displaying for him.
"Uh...I might want to sleep there tonight," the blue-hair said to the ball.

To anyone who reads this. I apologize for the rushed pace of the story. I have read too many stories that follow this pace.
