4.
Howling wind and dust met the Ebon Hawk as it settled on the landing pad. Korriban was an inhospitable and cruel world. The perfect place to train new members of the Sith and break the will of Jedi who were caught in Revan’s traps.

“I will return after I have completed my business here. I trust you wont try anything stupid in my absence.” Revan stated as she turned and headed out of the cockpit.

Two thoughts filtered through Carth’s mind simultaneously. The first was that it would be very easy to attempt to leave the Sith Lord on Korriban and head toward Republic space. The second was that he was being left alone on the ship with Canderous and Mira. Standing suddenly, he followed after the Dark Lord. “May I join you?”

Revan chuckled. “Scared of something slave?” She asked.

“I know what they’ll do to me while your gone. Don’t get me wrong. It’s not like I like your company; I just don’t much care for Mandalorian torture techniques.” Carth stated.

Revan mulled over what he had said. “No, I think you will remain here on the ship.”

Anger filled him and his fist connected with the wall beside him. “I told you what you wanted to know, I changed clothes, and I brought us to Korriban without trying to escape or alter our course! Why can’t you just let me accompany you?”

Laughing, the Dark Lord turned to face him. “Didn’t anyone ever warn you that anger can lead to the dark side?”

“Do you want to hear me beg? Is that it? Do you want me on my knees groveling at your feet? Begging for your mercy like some whipped dog?” He snapped

“Sure, why not. Get on your knees and beg me, like a good slave should. Offer me the things you think I want from you and then maybe, if you appease me, I’ll take you with me.” Revan offered.

Carth’s face flushed deep crimson. “No.”

More laughter bubbled out from behind Revan’s mask. “You ever loose that fire slave, and I’ll leave you here so that the trainees can practice on you.” Turning back toward the hallway, she made her way to the main hold, where Canderous and Mira where seated on one of the cushioned benches that lined the walls.

“I have business on the planet, remain here.” She stated flatly. “Oh, and if either of you plays with my new toy in my absence, you will have to answer to me.” Then speaking louder then she knew she needed to she added. “HK, I’m leaving you in charge. Don’t hesitate to initiate your torture protocols if anyone does anything I would find upsetting.”

The droid appeared around the corner into the main hold with a silence that the two humans found unnerving. “Facetious statement: Of course, Master. It would be my pleasure to baby-sit these meatbags in your absence. Nothing would please me more, Master.”

Revan made no further comments and continued toward the ramp and off the ship.
Wind whipped at her robes and dust beat against the fabric relentlessly. But the elements meant nothing to the Sith Lord as she made her way into the main building, where she was met by a woman she knew well

“Lord Revan, a pleasure as always to have you here at the academy.” Lorna Gyousei said, a smile upon her full lips. “But what brings you? I doubt this is a social call.”

“I need your best Jedi hunter Lorna. And I would prefer them ready to board my ship before the sun sets.” Revan stated and she watched the other woman frown, her full lips parting in a sigh.

“Unfortunately, my best hunter is currently being detained pending my investigation into the accusation that he attempted to flee the academy and leave the Sith.” She said, her honey eyes darkening with the anger she felt toward the situation.

“Do you believe he is guilty?” Revan inquired.

“Unfortunately he has not done anything to prove himself otherwise.”

“You should introduce me to this man. It’s obvious you have no desire to twist his mind and body until he shatters upon the blade of the Force and is left an empty shell. Perhaps I can come up with a more, useful punishment for him.”

The other woman nodded and turned to lead the Dark Lord through the long halls over the academy and down into the dungeons.

“I meant to ask you about the new ship.” Lorna said once they were alone in the winding, maze-like hallways of the dungeons.

“It’s called the Ebon Hawk. The Force lead me to it, and while I cannot sense a past or future from it, it seems to exist in a parallel to this present. Contact with the ship can cause certain people to have visions of this alternate present. I find it all rather intriguing.”

“Must be more interesting then being the Lord of the Sith. I mean, I’m sorry Revan, but I would be so bored if I were in your shoes. I’m bored enough in my own.”

Revan laughed. “You are welcome to come with me. I doubt they will miss you while we go gallivanting around the galaxy in a freighter, kidnapping people.”

“Mmm… That sounds divine, but I really have to finish this whole thing with Jaq first.”

Revan nodded, and they finished the walk in silence.

Jaq sat in his detention cell, his mind filled with uncontrollable emotion. He’d been that way since he’d met her; since she had opened his mind to the Force. But mixed inside that unending tumble of emotion, there was real fear. Fear that he would die, or worse, that he would live. The same way the Jedi he had helped capture “lived.” Shells filled to the brim with the dark side but without anything that could have been linked to who they had been before. He heard them approaching, felt the darkness that washed off them like waves crashing against his soul. True Sith, masters of the dark side. If he was lucky, they would kill him. If he wasn’t, he didn’t want to think of what would happen to him.

Revan stopped before the only occupied force cage and looked in at the inhabitant. He was in his twenties, much like Lorna, perhaps slightly younger. His hair was an unruly mess of chocolate locks that appeared to have had his fingers constantly moving through them. Even as she watched, he ran his shaking fingers through his hair; his hazel eyes trained on the floor. He was well built, perhaps not quite as well as Carth, but well enough to be easy on the eyes.

Jaq was sure he was going to suffer a slow and torturous death. No one was visited by Darth Revan in their cell that lived to tell the tale.

“Jaq,” Lorna’s voice was gentle but did nothing to settle the uneasiness that had taken hold in his chest. “It’s time you tell me why you were trying to leave us.”

He shook his head, his eyes pleading as the raised them to meet the honey-colored ones of his commanding officer. “It wasn’t… that wasn’t… I was scared.”

“Of what Jaq?” Lorna pressed

He shook his head, unable and unwilling to go on. How could he tell them what the Jedi had shown him? How could he admit it to them?

“You see Lord Revan? Though I have tried to allow him to state his side, he has yet to tell me why he attempted to leave us.” Lorna sighed, shaking her head and slowly raising her hand.

Jaq backed up until his back met the force cage. The surface of which sent an electric current surging through his spine and caused him to fall forward on his hand and knees.

Lightning leapt from Lorna’s fingertips, strands of purple light that entangled the man in front of her and caused a cry of anguish to rip from his chest.

Revan watched in dull amusement. She knew the woman next to her well enough to know that she would rather be performing a different kind of torture on the man in the cage. A sweeter more sadistic torment that would have him writhing and begging. “Enough Lorna. Bring him with us, you can finish his interrogation aboard the Ebon Hawk.”

The slithering arcs of energy dissipated, Jaq struggled to catch his breath, and Lorna stared wide eyed at the Sith Lord. “Are you sure Revan?”

“I am. It seems only fair that if I’m going to have a slave to torment on this little trip that you should have one as well.” Revan stated flatly.

Lorna nodded curtly and turned off the force cage. “On your feet Jaq. You should consider yourself lucky that the Dark Lord has decided to pity you and give you another chance to tell me why you tried to leave.”

Jaq slowly rose to his feet, his entire body shaking with the memory of pain. It was as he had feared, the Jedi bitch had damned him. Opened his mind to the Force and condemned him in the same breath. He should have made her suffer instead of killing her. He should have made her pay for the torment she had sentenced him to.

Revan did not wait for the other two, sure that the young Sith and her favored hunter would follow her. Revan almost felt badly for the boy, he had made a grave mistake trying to leave. Not because choosing to join them was something you weren’t allowed to walk away from, but because he had tried to walk away from Lorna. Revan recalled the last time the pretty young Jedi had been turned away from. The Zabrak had been under her command during the Mandalorian wars, but had chosen to return to the Republic after it had ended. She’d been heart broken and had cried on Revan’s shoulder. The Dark Lord had offered to have the man killed, but Lorna elected to let him live. A decision that caused her a great deal of pain, and helped lead her down the path to the dark side.

The Ebon Hawk was calling for the Dark Lord again, she could feel it stirring in her soul. It had more it wished to show her, more secrets it wished to unveil before her. Her pace quickened as she moved through the Sith Academy, eager to return to the strangely comforting ship and see where it wished to take her.

Her black robes were once again assaulted by cruel winds that clawed at the heavy fabric and pelted it with dust as Revan headed for the vessel. She was met at the top of the ramp by HK, who looked agitated, even if it wasn’t possible for a droid to show any true emotion.

“Aggravated Statement: Master, I must insist that you never leave me to watch those meat bags again.” He ground out as he stepped to the side for her to enter the ship.

“Did they do something I asked them not to?” She inquired, wondering why HK would be upset about having to use one of his favorite two protocols.

“Resigned Explanation: No Master. However, they wasted no time in the exchange of meat bag bodily fluids. It was most unpleasant.”

Revan laughed. “You have seen acts of sexuality before HK.” She reminded him

“Statement: Yes Master, but only used as a method of torture. I found the acts of these meat bags quiet disgusting Master and wish to never see such things again.”

“Speaking of sex as a method of torture,” Lorna’s voice was soft and seductive as she came up behind the Dark Lord, her once favored hunter following with his head bowed. “Do I get to meet this new slave of yours Revan?”

“He’s in the cockpit. I’ll introduce you.” She stated, moving through the freighter with a Jedi's grace.

Carth sat in the pilot's seat, his eyes glazed, his mind lost in the dreams the Ebon Hawk created.

"Not bad, my friend." Lorna offered, after stepping into the cockpit with Revan and Jaq. "Though he looks more then a little distracted."

"The ship has taken his mind into the parallel reality it creates in the Force." Revan explained, walking up behind him and running her gloved fingers through his hair. The more she saw of the world the Ebon Hawk created in their minds the more she wanted to be close to and touch the pilot. Part of her wanted to see him struggle, sweat, strain and beg, while another part of her wanted nothing more then to press her form against his and take refuge in his arms. The wants of that smaller part of her were laughable to the Dark Lord, and yet the longer she was aboard the little freighter the harder it was to bring him harm.

"Jaq, stay here with the other slave. You just earned the title of co-pilot. Screw this up, and you'll regret it." Lorna stated evenly.

Jaq only gave the briefest of nods before taking the empty seat. Being in the cockpit felt familiar to him, but he felt like he should have been piloting the vessel. Setting his hands on the console he felt his mind empty of thoughts as if he'd been hit hard on the back of the head.

"What just happened?" Lorna asked, confusion coloring her features.

"The freighter is showing him something. More then likely the same thing will happen to you if you touch it." Revan answered.

"Is it worth seeing?"

"It's definitely an adventure. The timeline it shows is nothing like our own."

Lorna frowned and then reached out to touch the durasteel panel beside her, her eyes instantly glazing over.

"What is it you are going to show me this time?" Revan whispered to the ship before placing her hands on the back of Carth's chair, allowing the force to show her the ship's alternate galaxy, and her place within it once again.
