bottom and scans the machine. Once he's done, he came back up to the surface.
"What's wrong with the ol' thing?" Bunnie asks.
"We've gotta blown transistor. Getting the part is going to be the hard
part." Sentinal explained.
"Sally ain't gonna like this." she says as the two head off to report the bad news.

Robotnik was smiling due to the fact that the first phase of his creation was now done.
"Phase 2 is now in progress my whinny little nephew. Also I want Sonic's
protocol changed from capture to kill." he says putting his hands together.
"Finally, he's learning," Snively says quietly as he's changing the protocols on the city's defenses.
"What was that?" Robotnik asked.
"Nothing sir," he replies finishing the protocol change.
"You, my blue hedgehog will soon meet your maker." Robotnik says as he begins to laugh.
'What in the hell is this project Packbell?' Snively thinks to himself as
he tries to monitor what the computer was doing, but it wouldn't let him. Robotnik had put a level 7 security encryption on whatever this project was. He'd crack it, but it would take time.

Being pissed was not becoming of her, but she was officially pissed. The
news of the ring generator being broken was bad, but how was she going to tell Sonic. Plus how was she going to wake him up gently enough to tell him? She came

"When don't we have a problem?" Sonic retorts.
"The power ring generator is broken." as she says that Sonic's eyes widen in horror. Part of his dream had been when he tried to use a power ring, it melted away.
'Damn it, don't tell me that this fucking
nightmare is gonna come true![' he thought to himself. "Please tell me that we can fix it." Sonic finally says.
"Sentinal and Rotor are trying to find out where we can get the part."
"What do you mean trying?" a familiar voice says from behind them.
"Don't tell me you found out where we can get that transistor already?" Sally says to Sentinal.
"Yes, and this thing," he says holding a cylindrical object, "was found in the head of a SWAT-BOT. This one I hold can't be used, but if we find a fresh bot, we should be able to use it."
"I'm going to the city right now." Sonic says revving up.
"Not alone your not." Sally says grabbing his arm. Sentinal walked out of the hut. This was a domestic dispute that he didn't need to get into. Those two just loved each other too damned much plus they were both stubborn. That was not a good combination.
"I don't want you going." Sonic states.
"And why not?" Sally asks more annoyed at Sonic for thinking that he could do this on his own. Sonic closes his eyes and starts an internal battle. He didn't wanna really
tell her about the dream, but he couldn't give a good enough reason other wise.
He just decided that the truth would work this time. To sonic it was hours, but
in reality, it was a matter of seconds.
"Remember that dream that you woke me up from?" he asks still with his eyes closed.
"Yes, but what does that have anything to do with this?" Sally asks getting into his face.
"In it, the power ring had failed. It just melted away. I couldn't save the
one that was needing my help." he says keeping his eyes shut to keep the tears away. Sally was starting to realize who the one was in trouble in his dream. Of all
the freedom fighters, her and Tails were the only two that Sonic protected the
most. The way he was struggling to tell her, she knew who it had to be.
"It's me isn't it." she says calming down considerably.
"Yes, this is mine alone to do. The rings are my responsibility. They are the things that have allowed me to save us from the most awful of situations. Especially,
that first time Vypryn tried to catch me by using you as bait. I can't let
someone else do this." he says as he revs up. "I love you," he says blasting off
for the city. Sally watches him go. She was beginning to have a sickening feeling in her stomach. She went to the only person that could help her cope with this, Bunnie.

Sonic was cruising through the city until he encountered two of the offending bots that would provide him with what he needed.
"Hey, SWAT-BUCKETS, catch me!" Sonic says taunting them.
"Priority one Hedgehog, terminate." the bot says firing the plasma beam at Sonic.
"Termination, now Robotnik wants me dead." he says avoiding the blast.

"Sir, two SWAT-BOTS have located the hedgehog," Snively reported.
"Send all units, and I mean all units to surround the hedgehog." Robotnik
says yelling at his midget for a nephew.
"All city alert, all units converge on the hedgehog's location." Snively
says relaying Robotnik's order to the city's forces.

Sonic was racing away from the two bots that he encountered, when he was shot at from above.
"What the hell," he says looking up to see a STEALTH-BOT had fired at him. 'He's sending everyone after me!' he thought. He kept running until half of the
city's forces were upon his back. The problem was that the other half was right

the arm and fell to the ground, that he shouldn't have been so brash in his actions.
"Yes!! now finish him." Robotnik barked.
"Termination proceeding," a COM-BOT says and raised the weapon. Sonic just awaited death. There was no way out of this one. He was now ready for whatever was going to happen to him. Then another sonic boom echoed throughout the city. A black
hedgehog ran through the wall of robots and had taken Sonic out of there.
"Snively!!! What the hell happened!?" Robotnik asked.
Apparently, "Shadow came and rescued the hedgehog." Snively says showing Robotnik the impossible rescue attempt by that damned clone.
"Noooooo!!!!!!!" Robotnik yells and storms out of the command center.
"Well Julian, one of your creations has made you look like a fool." Snively says laughing to himself.

He was traveling at super sonic speed, but his feet were not on the ground. Sonic was being carried by someone else. He turned to see Shadow running right
towards Knothole.
"Shadow, why ya save me?" Sonic asks.
"Robotnik was going to change me into a robot. I have decided to tell him to go fuck
himself by rescuing you." Shadow says poring on the speed.
"I thought Sentinal erased your memory of Knothole." Sonic says.
"I recovered it." he says applying pressure to the large wound on Sonic's shoulder.

They all heard a Sonic boom coming into Knothole. A small group came out to see if Sonic had come back. What they saw was something that if you weren't there, you wouldn't have believed it. They saw Shadow carrying Sonic in the fireman's position. Sonic was bleeding from the shoulder and it looked like the black hedgehog was trying to stop the bleeding.
"Your careless hero got into trouble. I was the one who had to save him." Shadow says as if saving someone was a daily chore.
"I didn't leave any trace of where we are in that head of yours." Sentinal says taking Sonic away from Shadow.
"You didn't get rid of it completely. My daily screw job of Robotnik is over. Take care of him, he'll need it." Shadow says and blasts off.

"Sally, let me and Bunnie get one of the bots. Sonic can't handle the scale of what Robotnik is doing alone. From what Shadow says, the entire city was after you." Sentinal says.
"No kiddin, but I need to do this." Sonic says with determination in his
voice.
"I understand, but I almost lost you today. Let Sentinal and Bunnie deal with this. They aren't wanted dead." Sally says almost begging.
"All right," Sonic simply says and raps an arm around her.
"We'll leave immediately." the echidna says saluting and leaving the small
room that was set up for Sonic.
"Your life means more to me than some power ring generator. You did the right thing by letting your pride go." she says getting on top of him.
"You've always have been able to get me to do something almost all of the time. I just didn't wanna end up in a situation that would require one ring, but there would be no ring. If I were to lose Tails or you, especially you, I don't

down the final bot.
"Are any of the heads still in one piece?" Sentinal asked.
"I think this ol' one still altogether." she says throwing the head towards him.
Snively watched as the echidna cut the head opened and remove the cylindrical transistor.
"Will that one work?" Bunnie asks.
"It should since it appears not to be fused." Sentinal says.
Snively thought for a moment, then it hit him. Most of that old hedgehog's
inventions relied on that transistor.
"Is their power ring generator broke, or did they find a way to build a de-roboticizer?! All units, converge on those two. Don't let them escape!"
Snively says worried that if they had indeed stumbled upon a way to change those
worker-bots back, they would surely win this war.
"Hey, I think we've been spied upon." Bunnie says pointing to the annoyance in the sky.
"We better get outta here." Sentinal says.
"I don't wanna argue with that." she says and the two started to get the out of Robotropolis.
"Halt freedom fighters," a COM-BOT says from behind them.
"Doesn't anything get easy around here?" Sentinal asks aiming his gun at the bot.
"You will lower your weapon and come with me." the COM-BOT says.
"Oh well, y'all gonna be scrapped then." Bunnie says doing a flying kick at the bot's head. It goes flying off into the night. This provokes all the other bots to start firing.
"Battle mode," Sentinal says and he goes through a transformation. He is incased in a metallic alloy and his dreadlocks are sharper. Hover units start attacking the two from the air, but Sentinal goes into a buzz saw and cuts through the units. As Sentinal is fighting off the air attack, Bunnie is making mince meat out of the SWAT-BOTS that were blocking her.
"Y'all must be the dumbest tin cans I ever seen." she says punching a hole
into another one.
"Get them...get them...get them!!!!" Snively yelled, but visual contact had
been lost due to the fact that all of the bots had been terminated.

"Now, if that ain't the biggest pile of junk you've ever seen?" Bunnie says as Sentinal turns back into his normal mode.
"We better go. Most likely Snively will send more after us." Sentinal says as he grabs Bunnie by the waist and rockets away.

"4 COM-BOTS, 25 hover units, 15 stealth-bots, and 75 SWAT-BOTS, my uncle is going to freak out with this report." Snively says as the repair crew took all the parts away.
"Phase three complete, now entering final phase." the mainframe computer says in its synthesized voice.
"Damn, I've gotta find out before it is completed." he says continuing to hack into the private project of his uncle. He finally got in, but to his horror, it was the final phase of an android.
"The final phase is to construct a body. Well, uncle, I'll copy this program, and then alter it for Mecha-Sonic. You won't be the only one with a high powered robot." Snively says copying Packbell's programming and dumping it
into a secure area of his own. He would have to alter it, but Snively was confident in his abilities.
