Chapter 2: Plot
~~~,~’~@ Chapter 2: Plot @~,~’~~~
Jessie and Lana made their way through the mansion’s first floor to the exquisite dining hall. The hall had a table capable of seating twenty, and was of marble design. As Jessie walked into the room, she saw Draco, Lazlo, and Mary Falconi sitting at the table while the chefs and assistants were bringing out the food and the pace settings.
“We’ll need seating for one more than usual tonight. Will that be a problem?” Draco asked the assistant.
“Not at all, sir! One more place set coming up!” replied the servant, enthusiastically.
Jessie and Lana each took seats as the rest of the place settings were laid in front of them. Draco lifted the top from the silver platter that sat near Jessie, and Jessie was nearly breathless.
“You guys had shark fin soup made especially for my visit?” Jessie gasped.
“Of course. You’re still special to this family, Jessie.” Draco replied whimsically.
“Thank you, Draco. You remembered I don’t like most foods.”
“Yes, I remembered. How could I not? You’re one of the pickiest guests the Falconi family has had!” Draco laughed after managing to get that last sentence out.
“Draco, that’s enough of that. Shall we commence with dinner?” Lazlo’s deep voice boomed across the table.
With that, the party of fifteen began to eat their dinners. Draco had a special pasta dish, “ravioli alla vodka,” made for him; Italian cuisine was his favorite. Lazlo and Mary both ate a thick cut of prime rib; one of the best cuts in the area, with a price tag to match. Lana and the servants were treated well in the mansion, as they each got their choice cut of steaks for dinner tonight. The servants were also well paid for their efforts, so they almost never complained of chores or stress.
After dinner came to a close fifteen minutes later, Draco tapped Jessie on her shoulder and directed her to his room for a conversation. He asked Lana to make sure no one had bothered them, and she complied. Jessie sat herself in one of the three chairs within the room, while Draco stood by the balcony door. Draco removed his cloak and closed his eyes, focusing his thoughts. In seconds, he walked onto the balcony with a pair of black dragon’s wings stretched out to their maximum span. Draco began to flap these wings and lift himself off of the ground. He flew through the sunset sky for nearly ten minutes and landed on the balcony, retracting his wings and returning his cloak to his shoulders.
“I needed that, badly.” Draco said as he panted while entering the room. He collapsed on the bed face-up. Jessie had stood up and sat down on the edge of the bed, where Draco’s chest lay. She was beginning to tire, so she laid down atop Draco’s chest. Draco did not mind at all.
“So Draco…what exactly happened between you and…that thorn?” Jessie asked, not trying to invade his privacy.
Draco pulled out a tape recorder from the nightstand next to his bed and pushed the play button. Two seconds later, the final conversation between Rose and Draco began to playback. Once the conversation ended with a click, Draco clicked stop and wiped a tear from his eye.
“Now you know what happened to me…” Draco let out another tear. Jessie came up and gave Draco a soft kiss on his cheek.
“There, there, Draco. Everything will be okay…besides, I have a plan to get that bitch Rose her just desserts. Want in?”
“What will this entail, exactly?” Draco asked inquisitively.
Jessie began to whisper things into Draco’s ear, and Draco now wore a sheepish, yet evil grin.
“This is going to be great! I can’t wait to use her favorite methods against her. Where shall we get her, though?” Draco asked of his new lover.
“How about the CVS that she’s employed at? It’s only…twenty kilos south of here, one of the few in this desolate region.” Jessie replied.
“Perfect. In two days, we strike. Right now, I’m going to call up all of my friends and see if any of them want in on this.” Draco walked out of the room with a smile.
‘And so it begins…’ Jessie thought to herself.
