How the Other Half Lives

CAUTION: Contains some racist elements.

Felicity knew she was risking the chance of Marcus snapping at her, but spending the last two days in his family's ancestral vault, attempting to summon the angel he had often seen his dreams, was starting to make her worry. It was his trust and dedication in God himself that drew her to him and gave her hope in a dark and decadent world. With him she could feel her own faith grow in both God and the chance of a better world. Not to mention that he could be such a gentlemen he wanted to be and his gushing over her purity made her feel so special. She especially loved it when he called her his "Princess" because her light blonde hair, expressive blue eyes, and slender frame reminded him of the princess in the fairy tales his mother would read to him when he was little. Yet, she could never imagine going this long without food or water. And what about, pardon her for thinking about it, going to the water closet. Maybe there was a bucket for him to take care of his business, but that wasn't something proper young ladies dwelled upon.

Swallowing the lump in her throat, she lightly wrapped on the door hoping he wouldn't be too cross at her. "Go ahead, I unlocked it." Marcus sure seemed to be in a surprisingly good mood.

"You're done." This sure was unexpected. Marcus had been so incredibly moody this last week with the twelve-year anniversary of his father and uncle's deaths looming around the corner. Even though their relationship had only been in existence for almost two months, Felicity could tell how important both men were to her beloved. Heck, she couldn't remember a time when he didn't sing the praises of either man complete with a pleasant childhood memory running in his head. To see such happiness torn away from such a wonderful young man made her want to curl into a ball, sobbing.

"She talked to me." It was as if Marcus had transformed into an excited little kid at Christmas.

"Who?" Felicity struggled to keep a straight face at the heavy stubble growing on his face, how his soft light brown hair was a complete grease mop, and the odor that was arising from his sweat-drenched body.

"Titiana. The angel from my dreams. She's finally answered me." He grabbed her by the waist and spun her in air. "I can finally avenge them. Fix this world so our race will never suffer again..."

"Slow down honey." Felicity shook her head in attempt counter the dizziness his spinning her around created. "What did she do?"

"This." With a wave of his right hand, a ball of glowing energy the size of a bowling ball appeared in front of him.

"Wow. That's amazing."

"Oh. That's just the start. She's given me much more than that."

"Like what?" She started becoming just as excited as Marcus was.

He waved his hand again and the ball disappeared. "Nah." Felicity pouted like a toddler. Ignoring her, Marcus smirked as if he had just pulled the wings off a fly. "It'll be more fun to try it all out on that demon-nigger when I find her. She and the rest of the trash will pay for what she did to my family."
