Comme //0 //00t. p|-|33r t|-|3 |_33t! Three days and I already have four chapters up. They may be a good one after all. So how does everyone like it so far? … Perhaps not as much as I premised, because only one person has reviewed. So far. Not that I’m begging, but… it only takes a second to gimme self-esteem. And now, on with the show!

Squaresoft and Disney own Kingdom Hearts, and I am making no money from this.
Riku.
As tall and menacing as ever, standing as though he was being held up by marionette strings. His movements were deft in this way, and he didn’t seem to have the strength to keep his head up, judging from the weary crease to his mouth.
Riku.
His silver hair was a bit longer now. Those fine white strands always grew quick, especially if they were denied the trim that hid split ends. They whispered around his pale face, and across his eyes; deep aqua that had once been so beautiful, they were mesmerizing. Now they were shadows, flat and listless.
Riku.
He had lost weight. Even though the thick material that the body suit was made out of, when he breathed, his ribs jolted out. Was he even eating? Or more importantly, was he even being fed?
Riku.
His right hand was clenched tightly, a soft red glow peering between his slim fingers. It had flexed when he raised his head to look up at Sora, who stood stiff, eyes wide, and his lower lip shivering as he often did when he was scared. Some things never changed.
And some did.
“ Why aren’t you helping King Mickey!?”
“ Why are you still here.”
Sora took a sl ste step back, reaching for his Keyblade, but he couldn’t bring himself to draw it against his friend. Riku, the one person he cared about the most, rivaling Kairi.
“ What do you mean?” Sora called back, and withdrawing another pace, increasing the space between them. But even from here, Sora could see some flicker of the Riku he used to know.
“ I told you to take care of Kairi. So why are you still here?” Riku answered, his voice frighteningly flat.
“ Because… you’re my friend! I cant let them have you!” Sora said, his voice a bit scratchy from the cold. Riku smirked a little; it was cold and spiteful, though none of it seemed aimed at Sora.
“ Too late, Sora. They’ve already claimed me.” Riku was walking towards him now in a cool stride. He barely left any tracks in the snow.
“ No they havn’t, not if you keep your heart! And I know your stronger than that, Riku!” Sora stumbled in the thick snow. It was seeping through the top of his shoes, making his feet numb, and hard to walk. He caught himself just in time before falling.
“ Hearts… such easy things to loose, you know.” Riku’s voice was quiet, but Sora heard it, loud and clear.
At those words, Sora felt as though his own heart had crumbled away. He fell, snow rising up around him in soft flakes, watching as Riku came near in horror. / No… Riku was always the strong one… how could he? /
Riku stopped aside Sora, looking down at him, his face gaunt. He didn’t even look like himself anymore, “ You are always so stupid, Sora. You have no idea how good it feels to be part of them.”
“ It feels better, fighting them, and saving people.” Sora answered silently, detaching his eyes and looking down towards his feet, always large and strange, splayed out oddly in the snow. It surprised him when Riku reached down, extending the hand that had once behut hut so tightly.
“ Look Sora. “ Riku was knelt beside him. The red glow was eminating from a round globe that was constantly changing shape, “ This is one of the purest hearts of all the worlds.”
“ What do you mean?” Sora refused to look, so Riku grabbed his chin and forced his headardsards the orb, so that it was inches from his face.
“ That foolish girl loved a monster. He almost killed her father, you know, but she loved him anyway. This is what now feeds the darkness, and will ultimately give it supreme control. “ Riku chuckled darkly and closed his hand. Shocked, Sora tried to pull away.
“ You took Belles heart, then! Riku, what has happened to you?” Sora flexed his jaw to try and throw the hand, but it only tightened, forcing his teeth tash ash together. Riku bent further, until his lifeless eyes were hovering in front of Sora’s moist ones.
“ Crybaby. I can give you a taste of the darkness.” Riku leaned in closer. The warmth of Riku’s breathe tingled Sora’s chilly skin, coated in a light sheen of sweat.
“ No… please Riku.” Sora pleaded, unable to remove his eyes from those of Riku. Riku didn’t listened, a sort of black mist whipping from his pale lips the moment he parted them. He was now squeezing Sora’s jaw, at just the right spot where he had to opened his mouth, lest his jaw pop from its socket.
Riku’s lips fell upon his hard. They were no longer soft, instead hard like bricks, and just and rough. It hurt, and Sora never imaged that a moment like this would cause him such agony. Weakly, his hands came up to press at Riku’s chest, to no avail, and without the support, he plopped back into the snow, his aggressor following.
Sora could feel the darkness soaring down his throat, twisting through him to the point that he thought he may die from it. His heart was beating quicker and quicker, until finally it stopped for a moment, and a stab of pain spread from it.
// “ Sora! Sora! “
Sora was laying in the side, turned onto his side, his arm bent back underneath him, and it ached at his shoulder. He had fallen from the tree him and a few other islanders were trying to climb. He saw black, but he was still awake, his fists clenched tightly, so that he could feel his short nails digging cresent divets into his palms.
“ Riku! Help him!”
Riku must have been coming. He was no more than nine, but the rest of the children looked up to him with as much esteem as they would an adult. Riku had matured quickly.
Sora could feel himself convulsing on the ground. And felt Riku’s hand brushing across his forehead, pausing there on the heated flesh.
One One of you, go get some water. He’s having a seizure.”
Footsteps were going away from him. Riku’s arms slid around him, lifting him from the ground slightly, enough so that his face was now in the shade of that same tree, instead of being beaten down on by the powerful sun.
“ Sora?” Riku’s voice rung through his head. Turning it to the side, Sora felt the darkness around him retreating a little.
“ Mm.. R-riku… I fell… my arm hurts… “ His voice became squeaky towards the end. As the seizure died down, the pain in his arm was becoming more and more powerful, until he whimpered in it.
“ You’ll be fine, Sora. Don’t worry.” Suddenly, Riku’s face came into focus. There was a certain worry about him, along with another sense of something else. His ivory skin seemed sullen. And cold.
“ Where did you go?” Sora whispered. He didn’t notice until he spoke that he had been crying. Riku caught them with the back of his head.
“ I was looking at something, Don’t worry about it.” Riku’s voice was cold for a moment. Sora coughed a little and tried to turn in Riku’s arms. The way he was sitting hurt his side; he must have bruised a few ribs when he landed.
“ Riku… my chest hurts.” Sora held a hand over the spot of his heart. Riku brushed his hand away, and pulled up Sora’s shirt to take a look. The indicated side from before was slightly yellow with the beginning of a bruise, but the spot over Sora’s heart was startling.
It was very warm to the touch, and slightly pink, and almost natural looking, unless you leaned as close as Riku did. From between his ribcage, even through his skin, fainfainted beams of the most beautiful light escaped.
Riku touched the spot, very softly, and Sora pressed back from his hand in pain. So his fingers grazed the skin again, much more light than before. Never before had he even seen anything light this; he and Sora swam nearly every day, how could he have overlooked anything like this?
Sora took in a deep breathe, and the glow was gone. The skin had cooled to the tem temperature as the rest of him, and again, everything looked normal. Sora twisted around in his arms.
“ Riku.” Sora cried, fat tears rolling down his cheeks, “ I want to go home…”//
Riku tore his mouth from Sora’s, steam rising.
He let out a long, loud yell, letting go of his friend as though he had burned him. Sora’s eyes had rolled back, black shooting out from his mouth every time he breathed. He stiffened on the ground, back arched up at a high arc, and for a moment, a red light flickered through the thick coat.
Riku was rubbing his mouth violently on the back of his arm, his bland eyes narr as as he glared at Sora, who twitched and turned onto his side. Sora coughed, and the red light was now shinning pink through his mouth, forcing the steam out.
“ What’s going on?” Riku spat on the ground. Sora’s body had relaxed on the ground again, his eyes now sealed shut, and his once tanned cheeks now pale. Riku stared, and then snorted, pushing himself up from the ground and dusting snow off his body suit.
“ I knew you were weak, Sora.” Riku said slowly, watching him for a moment more, and then turned to the raw dirt path leading to the parted gates, the chain having been cut away by one of the heartless and thrown into the distance, feet fro from the Gummy ship.
But he came to a slow stop when a ringing filled his ears. He turned slowly, his eyes rolling with the movement as he did, and what he saw made in draw in a quick breathe and tighten. Above Sora floated a heart, so bright and shinning that it looked like the center was made of diamonds. Red silky strands wisped over the surface of the form, glittering when the light hit it right.
“ The purest heart of all.” Riku whispered, retracing his steps and kneeling again. It was warm, as though a fire was held inside of it. This was nothing compared to the small heart he still held, gripped right, almost to where the light of it was being choked out completely.
Riku felt compelled to touch it, but drew his hand away sharply, and looked down at Sora’s face. His eye’s had opened, just barely, so that a lovely glint of blue peered through his dark, thick lashes. But they were unseeing as they only looked before. He felt a prang of something old inside of him.
“ Sora… why does it have to be you?” Riku murmured, slipping his hand underneath Sora’s head and raising it a little. His eyes, like a doll’s might, slid open with the raising of his head, and he took in a breath. The heart disappeared, almost becoming grains of fine sand, and scattering back over Sora, seeping in.
“ Hey! Get away from him!” Donald and Goofy where running towards him. Pluto was out ahead of them, and leapt into the air as Riku stood. He made to sweep his arm and knock the dog away, but instead its teeth bore into Riku’s muscles arm.
“ Get off!” He roared, and landed a punch into the canine’s ribs with his free hand. Pluto let go with a yelp, his mouth tinted with purple. Riku hissed when he looked upon the deep puncture wounds, and took a step away when Donald got dangerously close. Goofy, though, took to tending to Sora.
“ I didn’t mean it.” Riku begun, but Donald smacked him hard in the shins with the staff.
“ You stay away from Sora, you sell-out! He’s been worried sick about you, some creature of darkness!” Donald went to berating him with the staff. Riku snarled and turned away, and disappearing with a puff of dark smoke.
/ Creature of darkness…/
/ The purest heart of all… /
/ Sora… you care for a creature of darkness, beyond all odds... /
/ Now you must loose your heart. /
Only you can be the one, to open the door…
End of Chapter Four
Good? Not much happened, but I think I like this chapter most of all at first. Kind of a dead give away though, that the purest one can summon the Keyblade. Dead give away, even in the first game. I’ll probably end up with another chapter added to this later on. Until then. Tata!
