3: Storms coming
The first few hours of the trip passed in relative silence. Though the odd spark of conversation formed, neither really found anything to settle upon and it soon died away. An hour or more passed before they reached the small town of Goldshire. Where the group decided to stop for a drink.
The priestess felt her eyes narrow slightly as the came to a halt outside the inn. While her elven friend seemed content to enter, she knew the place had a bad reputation. Then again every tavern she’d ventured into did so it wasn’t much of a surprise all things considered. Sighing quietly, the draenei followed her companion inside and they soon found a vacant table away from the many drunks and patrons occupying the building.
Her face flushed as she caught sight of a rather large table off to one side, one of Allia’s kin dancing slowly atop it. Clad in nothing more then a very low cut shirt and a pair of cloth pants which left little to the imagination. A number of people, both men and women were eagerly watching her performance.
Brushing a lock of hair behind one ear. The draenei simply rolled her eyes at the stripper and sunk an inch lower into her seat. She just couldn’t understand the appeal in dancing naked for others entertainment. Shrugging the thought off for now. she quietly drummed a tune into the table with her fingers, while turning her gaze upon the bar.
“So, what do you fancy?” Allia’s smooth voice cut into her thoughts and almost made the priestess jump, having forgotten for a moment she wasn’t alone.
“Just something light. I’m not much of a drinker.” She replied. Not really in the mood for getting drunk, especially in a place like
this. A chill swept through her at the thought.
“Alright. back soon.” A hand gently gripped her shoulder for a moment. And the draenei felt a strange warmth spread up her arm and to her face from the brief contact. Blushing faintly, she watched the elf go, her eyes unintentionally exploring her curves in the process.
Not even realizing what she was doing. The draenei soon returned her gaze to the table, where the drumming of her fingers was soon accompanied by a soothing hum as she tried to find something to keep herself amused.
It wasn’t long before something served as a distraction though.
As a few moments after her friend departed, someone fell into the chair next to her. Having been to distracted with her thoughts she didn’t spare them a glance, assuming it to be Allia.
It wasn’t until a arm suddenly wrapped around her shoulders that she finally moved her gaze away from the table. Only to lock eyes not with the elf, but a human instead. “What’s a cute little thing like you doing sitting here all alone?” He grinned, she detected a slight slur to his words. The priestess nose wrinkled slightly as a rather overwhelming smell of ale assaulted it. Clearly he was drunk.
“I’m not alone. My friend will be returning any moment now.” She stated, a clear note of finality to her tone as one hand moved to push his off her shoulder. Only for it to return a moment later, much to her annoyance.
“How’s about i keep you company till they get back?” He leaned a little closer, and she recoiled slightly. Clearly just pushing him off wasn’t going to work. As was proven by the index finger of his hand tracing circles against her cheek.
“No...She’ll be back in a moment. And i’d appreciate it if you got out of her seat.” She half said, half growled in hopes of getting the point across that she was not interested in him. Sadly it didn’t work and she felt her anger building by the second.
“She? Well don’t worry lass. I can keep you both company.” He grinned, and she felt his hand moving towards her chest.
Delia’s eyes narrowed. “No, thank you.” She hissed the words through gritted teeth. The hand on the table had long stopped tapping, and now closed into a fist.
“Don’t be shy baby!” He chuckled, his hand moving to her breast. Her face began to flush again, this time from anger. “We both know your just playing hard to get.
Smack!
Her hand connected with his cheek. Which sent him tumbling out of his chair. “No, means no. Now go back to your friends before crush what little manhood you have with one of my hooves.” A satisfied smile formed as he swiftly stood and staggered away, one hand rubbing his cheek, where a bright red handprint showed everyone his mistake.
“Men...Who needs them.” She mumbled, her arms crossing just under her breasts as she leaned baqk in her chair and scowled at the tavern at large.
Another person joined her. Though this time a leather clad hand set a glass of wine in front of her before speaking. “I don’t know...some of them can be quite charming. Don’t judge the gender based on these low life’s.” The draenei spared Allia a brief glance. before nodding slightly and accepting the drink.
“I suppose.” She mumbled, before taking a sip of the sweet tasting wine. Dalaran red wine, a personal favourite. Smiling in approval, Delia glanced out the window not far from them. And noted with a quirked eyebrow that it was almost dark outside. “The heck?” She whispered.
“Turns out there’s a storm coming.” Allia said softly, briefly nodding her head towards the window. “Going to be rough from what i heard...don’t worry though. I already booked us rooms for the night so we don’t have to get wet.” Chuckling quietly, she dropped a key onto the table; the priestess paused for a moment. Before sliding it into her pocket.
“Thanks...Looks like we’re stuck here for the night.” Delia commented as she heard the distant rumble of thunder even over the din of voices and clinking glass around her.
“Look on the bright side. Least you got a nice warm bed to sleep in tonight. Tomorrow we won’t be so lucky.” Allia said, a smile working its way onto her features as she leaned her chair back on two legs, knowingly giving and onlookers a full view of her impressive chest.
Two hours later.
Delia yawned as she made her way up the stairs and fumbled with the key to her room. Despite her desire to remain sober, she’d ended up having more than her fair share of drinks regardless. And now found her movements sluggish and her senses dulled.
Groaning softly, she finally matched the key to the lock and pushed the door open. Without a moment’s pause she stumbled inside and nudged the door shut with one hoof. A few moments passed and she swiftly tossed her robe over the back of a nearby chair. Most of her clothes soon following.
By the time she pulled the blankets over herself and rolled onto her side. She wore nothing more than her underwear and a bra which did little to hide her sizeable breasts. Not thinking for a moment about the fact that her staff and gear were currently out of reach.
Minutes later she was asleep. And failed to notice the door slowly creaking open.
To be continued.
