Unexpected Visitor

Hena heard many horses outside the pond. She opened the gate cautiously, knowing that bandits were quite common at dusk. Much to her surprise, she saw a carriage parked outside with many guards around. She went to step forward, only to be halted by a guard. The door to the carriage opened. The Princess stepped out.

Hena bowed before her, wishing she had put on more than her housecoat. “Rise Miss Hena, for a friend of Shad’s is also a friend of mine” Zelda instructed as she motioned for the guards to wait by the carriage. She then leaned over and whispered in Hena’s ear, “I cannot go anywhere without them; it’s quite annoying.” They shared a giggle as they turned and walked through the gate.

“He suggested I should try fishing,” Zelda started, “while he and Link are away.” She looked at Hena’s attire. “It’s not too late is it?”

“Oh, no, not at all.” Hena replied, “If you will excuse me while I change into more suitable clothes.” She bowed and went into the back room. Zelda began to walk around, looking at all the fishing pictures Hena had on the walls. She stopped at one in particular; a photo of a Link holding a fish the size of his upper body. This should be fun. She thought to herself. Just then Hena reappeared, wearing her usual over-alls and boots. “You’re not going fishing dressed like that, are you?” she asked, looking at Zelda’s white dress. She smiled. “You can use the back room to change if you like.”

“I’m afraid I don’t have anything to change into.” Zelda replied. “Shad forgot to mention a change of clothes.”

Hena just smiled and said “We can use the boat if you don’t want to sit in the dirt.” She picked up two rods and a tackle box. “Shall we?” she asked as she opened the door. Zelda followed her out to the pond.
