A New Champion

The Radiant Garden

Yuffie looked in amazement at the monitors before her, the red glow of the alarms pulsing over her. Heartless were swarming over the city, attacking everyone. She’d never seen so many. She sat there in shock, leaning forward as she saw the heartless swarm over a couple.

“What are they doing…”

The door shot open behind her, making Yuffie nearly jump out of her skin as she spun, standing on the chair, her impossibly large shuriken coming to her hand as Tifa burst into the room, practically dragging Aerith behind her.

“Tron! Close everything! Full lockdown.” She yelled, turning to kick the door closed behind her. Yuffie watched in shock as Tifa ran to the monitors, quickly scanning around the city.

“Wh-what’s going out there?”

Tifa scowled at the screens, thoughts racing through her mind. “We’re under attack. They’re trying to reclaim this world.”

Yuffie winced, looking back at Aerith as she stood by the wall, then back to Tifa. “Where are the guys.”

Tifa pursed her lips, a small shudder going through her body. “With the heartless.”

In the back of the room, Aerith stood, facing the corner, her eyes closed and hands clasped in front of her as if in deep prayer. Her voice was quiet, but carried the sound of deep conviction. “We need the Keyblade bearer.”

“Sora?” Yuffie looked back. “What if he went to their side to?”

“I don’t think that is possible...”

“Kairi? I think I saw something.”

Kairi turned, looking back to Selphie curiously. “What are you talking about.”

The other girl knelt down, pointing into the bushes. “There! Something’s moving.” She smiled up. “I think it’s a cat.”

“Well, leave it alone then. We need to…” Kairi’s voice broke off, her eyes widening as Selphie suddenly yelped. Something had her hand. She grit her teeth, trying to pull back, and then the thing jerked, pulling her arm into the bushes.

“Kairi, help!”

Kairi dropped her bag, running over, grabbing her friend under her shoulders and pulling back. The two girls wrestled, but the thing in the bushes seemed to match their strength. With one mighty tug they both pulled back, trying to break its grip… and then it let go, sending both girls sprawling.

Selphie sat up, looking into the dark shrubs. “What was that?” she asked as the other girl stood behind her. Both gasped then as red eyes opened in the shadows. There was a faint rustle, and then the thing lunged out, its inky body aiming at Selphie.

Kairi grabbed her shocked friend by the arm, quickly yanking her out of the way, her mind awash in fright at what this could mean. “They’re heartless!” she gave as the simplest explanation, pulling Selphie after her. “Run!”

Hollow Bastion

Rikku squirmed helplessly on Seifer’s lap.

Try as she might, squirming desperately, there seemed to be no way to escape the man’s molesting grip. He held her there, his hands moving between her breasts, her legs, her sex, anywhere where he could both hold her humiliatingly in place and explore her lithe form. Her arms were no use to her, her wrists bound, then pulled up cruelly between her shoulder blades, held in place by a short chain to her leather collar, making it so that when she tried to struggle free she would choke herself. Her feet were little more help, as she’d learned that the short hobble chain between her ankle cuffs made it impossible to get any real force behind her kicks. As she tried again Seifer slid his hand down between her thighs, clutching her bare sex possessively, forcing a finger along and slightly into her fold, causing her to shriek desperately into the black ball gag filling her mouth. His other arm came around her body, his hand squeezing her breast, capturing her nipple and pinching down torturously.

Rikku whimpered, trying to distract herself from her own torment by seeing what was going on around her. They were in the main castle, just outside of the master control room. Seifer held her in a chair off to the side, watching along with an army of heartless as Ansem stood motionless, his hand on a computer interface. Beside him Yuna stood helpless, with a downcast, defeated look on her face, her eyes closed, her cheeks red. The leather collar around her neck bore a leash held by Ansem himself. Her arms were pulled tightly behind her in a tight single sleeve, and her legs were hobbled much like Rikku’s. Unlike her friend, Yuna was not gagged, nor had it appeared necessary. The girl had said nothing since Ansem the Wise had taken her prisoner.

“Wondering what he’s doing, little girl?” Rikku shivered as Seifer whispered in her ear and tried to pull her head away. In answer the man tightened his grip between her legs, forcing his finger directly up into her sex. She shrieked, her back arching pushing back against him. “He’s taking over your computers. In just a few minutes, Hollow Bastion will be ours.” He grinned, stroking her, playing with his blond toy as she whimpered. “And with it, access to all the worlds.”

Destiny Islands

Kairi ran through the city streets, pulling a terrified Selphie behind her. Around her the city was changing. An early night had come to the destiny islands, brought on by the flood of red eyed heartless. Everywhere she looked they seemed to be growing in number, washing over buildings, attacking people.

“There has to be somewhere safe.” She stopped, looking back at her exhausted friend. Selphie was holding together, but Kairi could tell it was only by the barest of margins. As she watched Selphie drew back, her eyes going wide, pointing back over her friend’s shoulder.

“Kairi!”

Kairi felt a chill run down her spine, and reluctantly she looked back, letting out a gasp as she saw the massive heartless forming behind her. Black waves seem to flow up, forming a monstrosity two stories tall. The thing rocked backwards as it’s massive arms formed, like it was laughing.

“Oh… that’s not good.” Kairi said plainly. A tiny fearful squeak was all the answer Selphie could give.

The ground shook as the monster lurched forward, both fists landing on either side of the girls, breaking the cobblestones where they landed, each arm easily the width of a large tree. The things fang filled toothy maw leered at them, it’s long black tongue lashing out sickeningly as both ducked, spittle flying around them.

“Ewww!” Both girls looked up at each other, but a roar from the creature snapped them both back to their senses as both braced against the hurricane like breath. “Selphie, hide!” Kairi yelled, turning and running to the side, waving her arms to try and catch the thing’s attention.

“But... what are you gonna do?”

Kairi winced as the thing turned to face her, one massive hand swooping down to try and catch her. She dropped, barely ducking out of the way as its hand drove through the front of a house. “I’ll… think of something.”

The creature brought both hands up over it’s head, bringing both fists together and down, striking swiftly. Kairi leapt, her hand touching the ground and somersaulting gymnastically as she narrowly dodged out of the way. She didn’t stop, sprinting to hide behind a fountain.

What do I do? She thought. What would Sora do? I need… I need something…

A peaceful feeling began to surround her, and Kairi felt almost as those she was being lifted. She focused; closing her eyes, and as she did light appeared to flow out of her, tiny motes swirling around and forming into a beam in her hands. First a handle, with blue like the surrounding ocean. She looked up in amazement, watching as flowers lifted from a nearby garden, flowing into place at the end of the keyblade.

Wind blasted around her as another roar from the monstrous heartless brought her back to her senses. Kairi, turned, looking to the thing towering over her, and a small grin touched her face. Memories of the battle at the World That Never Was came back to her mind. She turned, leaping onto the fountain in time to dodge the thing’s grasp, then leaping into the air, higher then she would have thought possible, bringing the keyblade up to slash at the thing’s face. The creature let out a horrid howl, and as Kairi fell she spun in the air again, bringing the blade across in a giant slash across the monster’s chest and belly.

As her feet landed on the ground, Kairi turned, looking up to see the monstrous creature grabbing its wounds. The thing leaned forward, another roar washing over the petite girl before more cracks seemed to appear in its skin. Eye wide, the creature staggered and then seemed to explode into a million pieces that scattered on the wind.

Kairi braced herself, holding up the keyblade to protect herself. As the pieces settled a glow began to form where the beast had stood. She stepped forward, looking up in bewilderment as the rosey pink glow began to form a door of light, intricately woven with flower engraving, a large keyhole in its center. Kairi looked from the keyblade to it, still in shock from the thing’s sudden appearance and the adrenaline of the fight. She lifted it up, touching it to the door, and the glow intensified brilliantly.

“Kairi!”

The voice was deeper, masculine. She heard it from behind as the glow seemed to wash over her. She turned, looking back, and distantly could see the outline of Riku as he ran up the street, hand reaching out. She watched, not sure what to do, and then the glow encompassed her, and she was gone.

“Kairi!”

Selphie poked her head out from behind the fountain, her eyes wide from the spectacle she’d seen. Riku was standing where Kairi had been, looking around frantically. Selphie gathered her courage and stepped out, walking to him, placing a hand on her shoulder. “She’s... she’s gone. She fought that giant… thing, and now she’s gone.”

Riku spun, grabbing the girl by her school shirt, and Selphie’s eyes went wide. He jerked her forward, blood red eyes, the same color as the heartless glaring down at her, chilling her heart.

“Then I suppose you’ll have to do for now.”
