Through another set of eyes

A/N: Yay! Chapter three! So I'm doing three stories at the same time, as well as drawing for a contest, painting Warhammer 40K models, drawing for my boyfriend, cleaning my house, taking care of three dogs and seven cats, looking for a job, and merely trying to lose weight and maintain my sanity. While it may seem like I've left the story, I just have to find the time to write.

Chapter 3: Call me Bowser


"Oh dear, is he going to wake up any time soon?" The flighty and dainty voice of the Mushroom Kingdom Princess could be heard as a doctor looked over the unconscious man within the bed.
"It's hard to tell at this exact moment Princess. I'm surprised that he's still alive. He must have had a nasty fall if you found him close to the rocky area surrounding Bowser's Keep." The doctor had packed up his things, following the Peach to the door. "I'll be back in a few days to see how he's doing. Any changes, let me know."
"Thank you doctor..."

It had been a few days since Peach had stumbled across the young man by Bowser's Keep. She had only been out near there after an argument with Mario. Fed up with never being appreciated by the mustached plumber, she had stormed out and had been walking around to vent her anger. It was while she was walking that she stumbled upon the young man; he looked dead, but was just barely alive. Peach was so worried, she had immediately taken the red haired man back to the Mushroom Kingdom in order to make certain that he was alright.

There was a weakened moan that broke the princess from her thoughts, startling her before she turned around to see the man she had found waking up. She was at his side in an instant, worried if he was in any pain. "Are you feeling okay? You're not in any pain right now, are you?"
Orange eyes slowly cracked open before settling upon the visage of the blonde woman before him. A groan slipped from his lips again as he did his best to sit up. "Where-where am I?"
"The palace in the Mushroom Kingdom. My name is Princess Peach."
Princess Peach? The name felt vaugely famillier to him, but he couldn't recall where. At the moment, he did even remember his own name.

After an hour of making certain that her guest wasn't in pain, Peach had food brought to the guest bedroom that the man was occupying. "You seemed to have a nasty fall, do you remember anything before that?"
A shake of his head as he slowly began to eat. "No...I...I don't even remember my own name. I don't remember anything about myself..."
The young man looked over at the blonde princess, smiling to her. "Thank you, Princess...if you hadn't found me, I hate to think to what would have happen to me..."
A faint blush spread over Peach's cheeks as he watched the red haired man. She couldn't understand why she was staring, but couldn't fathom tearing her eyes from the sight of him. When their eyes met, the princess had quickly looked away. The man's entire torso was bandaged, his torn up green vest tossed upon one chair. "Well what should I call you until you can remember you name?"
Orange eyes looked rather disheartened as he hated not knowing his name at that moment. "Where did you find me?"
"Near Bowser's Keep. Bowser is a feared Koopa King."
He smiled once more, choosing a name for himself. "Call me Bowser then, until I remember my own name..."
