Ch.3. Jaydn's Accident & Marcus's Evil Schemes

Chapter 3
Jaydn's Accident & Marcus’s Evil Schemes

Jaydn giving Wesker kisses good-bye, standing in the doorway watching him get in his car before closing the door and springing into action. She was becoming more paranoid and didn't know how much longer she was going to be able to hide it. Returning to her room, into the computer room where she had hidden the things in the attick, the door being in the computer room where Wesker had been 'checking his email' which Jaydn knew Wesker could care less about doing.

Popping the stair up to the little secret storage space where the laptop is hidden along with the few cds and usb drives, and the binder; everthing that would bring Umbrella to an end. Now all she has to do is get to the mall that was nearly a two hour drive depending on traffic. Picking up her cell and calling Alice letting her know she was ready to meet her, only now it wasn't the mall they were going to, that was a cover, the cover that Wesker didn't see through.

They always said the mall because in reality they were meeting at the cemetery down the road from it. It was an old cemetery, the old style with the iron gates and high wall surrounding it. It was a perfect meeting place, it was out of the way, and people assume you're family or friends visiting lost loved ones. After her call to Alice she textes Matt, another member of their little team, and lets him know to meet her and Alice at the cemetery, or 'the mall' as they used incase anyone was listening.

Picking up her things and moving to the garage, setting her things in the trunk; in the 'tool box' that was used for everything but a tool box. It was used to keep everything safe from harm, and hopefully wouldn't provoke anyone to look inside thinking it was just an ordinary tool box. Sitting in her car and taking off for the cemetery.

Everything was going smoothly. Jaydn was going down the road, the traffic was good...untill it happened. Someone was doing a U-turn on the main road, and it would've gone fine if it wasn't for the other car doing a no turn on red causing an accident. Jaydn was forced to stomp on the brakes, a car slammed into her from behind making her car go foreward and was then hit by an oncoming SUV getting pushed a few more feet into the intersection where it was then hit by a Wal-Mart tractor trailor. The car flipping over another car, rolling over it, and then once more before rolling on its top and sliding a few more feet before getting smacked by a car coming out of a parking lot and pushed against a pole.

Vision bluring after hitting her head on the stearing wheel givng her a bruise on her forehead, and her head slamming against the glass of the window in the door giving her a little cut on the cheek. Now she was upside down and she felt the blood rushing to her head when she wasn't able to get her seatbelt off. She felt tangled, and then she could hear someone yelling at her, but she was getting panicky before blacking out.

Wesker excusing himself from Marcus and Birkin when his phone rings.

"Is this Albert Wesker?"

"Yes, this is him. Who is this?"

"This is Dr. Gregory House at the local hosptle, your fiance has been in a car accident."

"Bad?"

"A bump on the head, a few scratches, a broken arm, other bruising but the only thing I'm worried about is that she's fallen into a coma.”

Standing in the doorway watching his beloved fiance laying motionless in the hosptle bed. Heart monitor steadily beeping, and the breathing machine moving evenly. A shallow slice on her cheek that was nothing more than a paper cut, and a bruise on her forehead. Her left arm already set and in a cast, and the IV in her other arm. Dressed in one of those ugly white and blue speckled hosptle gowns that never seemed to stay tied and would always end up showing your backside, he knew she hated them, she hated hosptles also, and doctors.

Her cloths folded and in a bag resting on the little table with a single chair between it and the open window. It was early August but the breeze felt cold to him seeing her still figure laying in the bed, and if he hadn’t looked carefully he could’ve been fooled into thinking she was dead. It was only an hour or two ago he got his hugs and kisses with a see you tonight, but tonight he’d be seeing her inmobilized.

“Her car was hit by a Wal-Mart truck after being pushed around in something like a pile up.” A police officer, a young guy in his early twenties. “Witnesses say it started with someone doing a u-turn, and turning right on red when they should’nt have.” he adds, “Her car is being held in the police impound if you want to see it. Impala’s are one of my favorites, but hers dosn’t even look like one anymore after taking the hit. She’s lucky, most would’ve died.” And with that he turns leaving Wesker standing in the doorway still.

He felt blank. He was pissed about people and their horrid driving skills, especially when it always got someone else hurt, and this time it was his fiance; he was going to make them pay out the yin-yang when he got the full police report. But the thought began entering his mind that she might not wake up, and after six months there may be brain damage, any time after that most don’t wake up ever and become vegetables untill they die of old age laying hooked up to monitors. Thats not living, its existing, and she always said she’d rather just die than be hooked up to machines for the rest of her days.

With those thoughts came others relating to their kids. They were only eight, they needed their mother. They needed her, he needed her-how would he explain it to them? A coma, at their age they were beginning to know what death was, how could they comprehend that she may never wake up again? All that’d to is succeed in scaring them so they’d never want to sleep again thinking they might die.

But what was getting to him worst of all, he felt like he was being punished that he was secretly accusing her of being the hacker ‘Pandora’. He didn’t say it, he didn’t really believe it, but part of him did. He knew Jaydn was smart, and sometimes intelligence could get you either in trouble or out of it. However, going against Umbrella nothing would save you from them when you’ve done pissed em’ off.

~~~
James Marcus pausing in his walk seeing Wesker leaving his office earlier than usual, and it had been going on for months now that August had passed, September came and gone and the twins were at home again giving Wesker more responcibilities that he even asked Amy-lee to help out with the kids and the house. He was no maid, and he couldn’t cook for the life of him but knew the kids couldn’t live off of fast food forever.
“Birkin told me about Jaydn, I’m sorry to hear about it.” Stepping out of the elevator with Wesker in the parking lot. “But I guess its safe to say she wasn’t Pandora.”
Something cracked in Wesker, and he wheeled around punching the older man in the jaw not once, but twice before he regained his composure.
“Do not speak about her like that, ever again in my presence.” Wesker warns, “Or I’ll give you more than a sore jaw.” Making his warning clear and turning heading for his black porsch.
James Marcus, the other head of the Umbrella corporation was left in the parking lot by himself as he watched Weskers car peel out of the parking ramp. His lip had begun bleeding, he could taste the copper liquid when he licked his sore bottom lip he knew would swell by tomorrow. Standing and picking up his case thinking to himself about how vicious Wesker had been without her. Much more like he was back when they first met, before Jaydn had completely sunken her claws into him, and began thinking to himself that the little woman just had to go.
~~~

October, Halloween, her favorite holiday had come and gone too, and Thanksgiving was lonely without Jaydn. There was no turkey, no family get together, and Wesker ended up taking the kids out to dinner. Christmas soon came, and was as lonely and somber as Thanksgiving had been. Finally New Years had snuck up and it was the new year of 2008, and a total of six months since she had her accident. The twins were becoming more difficult to deal with now that they were another year older, but also because their mother had been unable to attend their birthday back in late October.

Days kept passing and soon her birthday had arrived in February turning her 27 though she still looked as she did when Wesker met her when she was every bit of 16, and he was 20. He later found out that just how smart she was when she told him how many grades she skipped, and was granted a scholarship on her being first chair violin, and on her soccer talent that she gave up after having her kids at 18.

~~~
James Marcus looking through the small window of his office door to see Weskers figure in his black chair. Though the chair was turned to him, he could see his feet up on the short fialing cabinent that rested on the floor behind his desk, and the phone cord streaching to him in the chair. It had been only a few days after her birthday, and about a week since Wesker had punched him, when Marcus began to put his plan into action.
Marcus had become hell bent on getting rid of Jaydn. Besides never liking the woman from the start, but she was toying with his company and he didn’t like it. He didn’t like that she was capable of exposing him, and was ready to do anything it took to keep the secrets of the HIVE, and everyother Umbrella Facility unknown to the public. Birkin disagreed with Marcus and called him paranoid, Wesker didn’t believe him one bit, but he knew. Marcus knew deep down in that cold, withering heart of his that Jaydn was not as she appeared to be.
~~~

Wesker standing infront of the empty room that was once Jaydn’s, and had become just as dull and lifeless as it was before she was there. No more peace lilly plant that he had brought her, no more picture fraim that the kids made and brought in for her so that whenever she did wake she would be reminded of them. Instead it was just an empty square box with three windows next to eachother, with white walls and white sheeted beds. The small table and chair in the corner by the windows sitting naked without the beautiful white and green plant on it, and the window sill bare without the tulips and daisies Alice had brought her.

“Nurse,” Reaching out and grasping a nurse by her arm, “What happened to the coma patient in this room?”

The nurse tilts her head, “I don’t know sir, you’ll have to check the front desk.” And looks down at her arm, Wesker releases her and she continues down the hall while Wesker went to the front desk.

“Miss?” Wesker trying to stay calm and patient since the woman was on the phone, “Miss?” More eager and sounding aggitated that all she did was hold a finger up at him, so Wesker reaches over and presses the tab down ending the phone call. “I’m looking for my fiance, she’s a coma patient and is not in her room. If she was moved why wasn’t I informed of this?”

“That was an important call.”

“It was a personal call, importaint calls don’t have nurses giggling like school girls. Now you can either get on the computer and give me the room number she was moved to or I can inform your supirior that you’re making private calls on company time.”

Giving a silent huff she turns in the chair and brings up the screen. “Patients name?”

“Jaydn Keller, J-A-Y-D-N, K-E-L-L-E-R.”

The nurse types it in and waits a few seconds as the screen pops up that she is still in the same room, there had been no movement of the patient.

“It says here the patient is still in room 507, are you sure you went to the right room?”

“Yes I’m sure, I’ve been going to the same room for the past six months. Check again.”

“Are you sure you’ve got the spelling right?”

“I know how to spell her name, did you type it right?”

Giving a sigh the woman types the name in again, j-a-y-d-n k-e-l-l-e-r, and the same results come up. “I’m sorry, you must’ve gotton the wrong number. It says here she’s still listed in that room.”

Wesker leans over the counter turning the monitor some and he could see the woman wasn’t egging him on. So he took off back up the elevator to her room, looking at the numbers seeing 5-0-7 clearly outside the door, and there is no clipboard with patients writeup in the light brown holder, so he knew she was moved because if she had woken up she would’ve called him.

“Page Gregory House.” Wesker orders the woman as he gets back to the front desk. “Page him, now.” Wesker ordrers impatiently.

Minutes later the brown haired doctor could be seen coming off the elevator and right over to them asking what the problem was.

“My wife is missing from her room. According to her she is still listed to be in room 5-0-7, I’ve been up there twice and the room is empty. If she’s not there then where is she?”

Dr.House’s brows knit, “No, impossibe. If she had woken I would’ve been informed. Check it again Liz.”

Liz sighs and types in the name again, “I’m getting the same results.” She turns the monitor.

Wesker could feel his tempature rising, “Someone better tell me where my fiance is before I have this whole place shut down for imcompetence!”

~~~
Marcus walking around his newest patient laying restrained on the bed in lab 13. He had asked Birkin if he could borrow it knowing that if he had gotton caught all signs would point to Birkin, and Wesker would have William’s head and not his. It was easier than he thought it’d be stealing her from the hosptle, infact, he found it hilarious that he was able to do so with but a handful of helpers.
He had to admire that Wesker did know how to pick em’. He might’ve been old enough to be her grandfather, but he knew beauty when he saw it, and she was just the type he went for. She was petite, about average height with smooth tanned skin; he liked his girls dark haired and dark eyed, and a bit on the small side. Her once shoulder length black hair is now past her shoulders by a few inches, and she looked to had gained a few pounds, probably from being bedriddon so long.
He had taken the liberty of removing the cast since it was over six months, infact it was just beginning to go on seven months that shes been in the coma. While he could’ve just wished her to die, or stay in the coma untill she died, he knew that if she had woken up she’d end Umbrella anyway; waiting to see weither she died or not wasn’t a good enough solution for Marcus, he wanted to be ensure Umbrellas survival.
Picking up the clipboard and looking it over again, he suddenly saw something. The lightbulb going off in his head as he looks at her chart giving him the reminder that her eyes were two different colors, heterochromia. It was a rare genetic trait, and one of the few Marcus had wanted to test with to see what kind of results they got.
“Ohh....ohh..” Marcus grins, “You continue to bring a smile to my face Jaydn. Who knows, maybe you’ll even show me promise.” and gives her a light tap on the nose, but she didn’t move one bit. “You stay in your coma Jaydn and just let me do the rest.”
Meanwhile Marcus had gone back to work on his latest virus, Wesker was getting angrier and angrier by the second. Officer Danvers and Detective Collins were called in when Wesker and Dr.House had reviewed the security tapes to find that there was a gap. A very significant time gap, long enough for anyone to have come, picked Jaydn up, and gone without a trace.
“Calm down Mr. Wesker, we’ll find her.”
“Find her you better! She’s in a coma you morons, shes completely helpless and some how someone managed to get not only past security but staff and steal my fiance right out of her room!”
"Is there anyone that might want to hurt her?" Detective Collins questions, "Past boyfriend, exfriend, anyone?"
Wesker tilts his head, "I'm pretty much the only man shes been with and we've been together since college, so unless shes got some life I don't know about, the answers no. She dosn't have anyone I know of that would want to hurt her. I know all her friends, she dosn't hide anything from me."
"Alot of men say that about their spouces." Danvers says gaining him a glare from Wesker, but ofcourse Danvers couldn't see it with Weskers sunglasses on.
"Do your job, don't worry about how well you think I know my woman when you don't even know her to make such judgement."
~~~

"Dad?" Haydn's voice sounding as the little boy pokes his head in the door of his parents room to see his mothers side was still not slept in. "Dad? Are you not going to work today?"

"No, Haydn I'm not. Are you ready for school?"

"Yeah, Amy-lee's here to take us. I just thought I'd let you know we were leaveing." Haydn tells him walking over to his dad who was now sitting up in the bed. "Hug?"

Looking at Haydn was almost like looking in a mirror, all but the eyes and his black hair that he inherited from his mother. A mop of black hair he refused to have cut, and mix-matched eyes identical to his twin sisters, but most of all reminded him of Jaydn since they were the same blue and brown as hers. Giving Haydn a hug before telling him to give his sister a hug for him and watches the boy leave the room and go back down stairs. Seconds later he could hear the door close and the rattle of
Amy-lee's crappy car, its how Jaydn and he always knew when she arrived at the house.
Looking at the empty and cold side of the bed giving a sigh, and got up moving into the bathroom. Clicking the light on and getting ready for a day of asskicking. First he was going to do the office, then he was going to the hosptle to begin pressing people for answers knowing someone had to have seen something. Over the weeks time she's been gone from the hosptle he could feel he was getting closer with the pressure he could put on people, they had a tendency to bend and then crack like tooth picks, and it wouldn't be much longer before he got a lead.

~~~
Marcus in his labs looking in, and breaking down Jaydn's DNA in hopes of isolating the heterochromia trait, or going one better and getting enough to be able to start trying to clone her. He didn't know what it was, but something told him she shows promise, and he wanted to see it, badly. She still hadn't waken up from her coma yet, but was enjoying it since it made his work all the more easier.
Day by day, with the help of Birkin, convincing him to let him help him with his 'super soldier' project, that they (more or less, he) are getting closer to a break through. Marcus couldn't had thought it out better, he was just happy with her accidents timing. He got his subject, and in the mean time it kept Wesker occupied every minute of everyday between work, then the kids, and then doing his own detective work on his missing fiance. It often got him giggling, and Birkin would look at him oddly, but think nothing of it just like how he wasn't thinking on why he asked to borrow his empty testing room.
Marcus was putting embryos, stolen embryos from Jaydn away in the cooling facility under the fake name of Jessika Knightly for future testing and hopefully, artificial insemenation in hopes of getting a child with heterochromia. With todays genetics however, Marcus was confident he could give the child the rare trait just my manipulating a few genes. Who's DNA would he use for the male contribution he didn't know, but knew it couldn't be his since he was too old. He had thought about the sperm doner bank, but they'd probably ask questions and he wouldn't like that; so he'd just have to find an alternative source.
His first thought was Birkin. He was near the same age as her, still considered to be in his prime, and he was a young genius like Jaydn. With genes like those how could it go wrong? But then he realized he couldn't just ask Birkin to jerk off for him in a cup now could he? Specimans were few, opportunities were slim, and all windows were closed, but he knew he'd find a canidate sooner or later. If it simply came down to it that he had to do it, he'd sure as hell try.
"How are you doing Dr.Keller?" Marcus questions, "Any word about your daughter yet?"
Dr.Keller, a woman in her mid-fifties, but a fit and active adult thats shown by her slim and petite body that appears years behind her age. Like Jaydn she has black hair, only she has a few silver strands in the front and the rest is so curly its near impossible to put back in a tail. When the scientist looked up at him Marcus realized which one of her parents held the heterochromia. Just like her daughter, Madison Kellers's eyes were mix-matched of blue and brown.
"No. Nothing, the police don't even have a lead." She says sadly, "Who would kidnap her? For what purpose? She's-" Madison sighs, "Just don't get me started on it Marcus." She tells him and steps out of the elevator heading for her domicile in the underground facility.
For science, thats for what purpose; and I think Miss Keller you'll be joining her.
