The End of Love

Marri stuck close to Adonai. The monsters in the Burning Steppes attacked her constantly because she was so young, but Adonai defeated them all. Adonai was enjoying the adoration his strength and fighting skills earned him from his lovely young love.
It had been many seasons since he’d saved her from Garril and Urendel, but he still could get amazement from her when he single handedly took down a strong monster. Often times his prize for being so strong was the most amazing blowjobs he’d ever had. He never got tired of those.
“Marri, we be headin’ ta da BlackRock Mountains.” He said. “Ya will need ta be staying very close ta me. I will protect ya.”
Marri nodded. She’d heard of the Blackrock mountains, and heard how dangerous they were. “Just be careful, me love.” She said.
He smiled. “I will.” He said.
They rode for what seemed like forever to Marri before they approached the Blackrock mountains. There was lava everywhere. Adonai fought their way toward the Blackrock spire. Little did he know, it wasn’t the mobs he needed to be worrying about.
He and Marri sat down to rest. Or rather, Adonai sat down to rest, Marri healed his wounds and kissed away his stress. Out of no where there was a gunshot a bullet whizzed past them. They heard what sounded like a curse in what seemed to be Dwarven and a reload. Adonai was instantly on his feet and pushed Marri behind him. The Dwarf gave a command and his bear came charging at the two. While Adonai was busy with the bear, the Dwarf took aim at Marri.
Marri was frozen in place. If she ran, she was at the mercy of the mobs of the area. If she stayed she was at the mercy of the Dwarf. She did the only thing she could think of. She called a totem. It cast a constant healing on both her and Adonai. Unfortunately for her, it didn’t stop bullets. A bullet slammed into her shoulder and the next thing she knew she was on the ground looking up. The world was spinning and she could barely hear or see because the searing pain was causing her vision to fade and her ears to ring. She vaguely heard Adonai call her name. The hunter turned on Adonai, pummeling him with bullets as the bear clawed and bit at him.
Adonai continued to call out to her. Begging her to respond in some way. He was terrified she was dead. But no, she couldn’t be. Her totem still stood. It still healed him. He fought on, enraged that anyone dared harm his woman. But he was fighting a losing battle. The totem couldn’t keep up with the damage the bear and the Dwarf were doing to him. He wasn’t doing enough damage to the bear. And worse yet, the bear was driving him back towards the cliff face. Far below, lava promised a quick but painful death.
Marri finally regained her wits. She sat up painfully. She looked over at Adonai. The back of his feet were hanging over the cliff. He was barely on.
“Adonai!” She cried out.
Adonai looked over at her, relief shot through him. She was alive. He looked at her apologetically. He said three words before the bear finally sent him barreling over the cliff. “I love you.”
Marri screamed in horror as Adonai plummeted to his death. She was instantly calling upon the spirits to try to bring him back, but there was nothing left of him to bring back. As she stared at the cliff where her love once stood, she heard the Dwarf walking towards her. The bear padded over to her as well. It breathed down on her, drool dripping from it’s teeth, awaiting his master’s command to rip her apart. It didn’t come. The Dwarf simply lifted his gun and aimed it between her eyes.
“Don worry yer pretty little head, lass.” The Dwarf said, though Marri didn’t understand any of it. “I’ll make this quick, ta make up fer you havin’ ta see me kill yer companion. I hadn wanted you to see that, lass. That’s why I shot you first.”
There was a loud bang, then darkness.

Chill out. If you've read Thrall's conquest you know she's fine.

Poor Adonai however... he's not fine. *sobs* I was really staring to like writing with Adonai. Maybe I'll do his back story.
