Chapter Three:Maya

Krypton glanced around slightly, while the elf woman dressed in her silver gown and her shoes." So I noticed how close you were to the stag." He began.

The elf turned around and looked at him. "That is none of your concern what the "stag" was to me." She snapped. Then glanced back at the dead stag." I know you practically saved me, but may I ask one more favor of you?" She asked.

From behind his helmet, Krypton stared at her." What is it you ask of me?"

" Could you help me cremate him?" She asked softly.

Krypton nodded. Knelt down and picked the dead animal up and held him over his shoulders. The elf woman followed Krypton into the trees. Where after setting the carcase down. Krypton pieced together a little pedistal of branches and sticks. Then he lay the stag upon the top. He reached in the side pack he wore and drew out a small golden oval shaped stone.He glanced around for a moment, then at the elf." Take a minute to bid your friend farewell. " He said and lifted his arm and from the ground came a skeleton.

The elf woman gasped and jumped back." Relax." Krypton said. Then kicked the back left leg of the lingering skeleton. from the kneecap down Krypton held now in his hands.

" That wasn't very nice." Said the woman.

" Boner( Boyfriend picked it out, not me) does not mind. Do you?" He asked the skeleton. Who shook it's head. Krypton drew his sword, then sliced the skeleton to dust. After casing his blade, Krypton lifted the golden stone and slammed it down, breaking it over the kneecap. Which erupted into flames. When he turned back around to the woman. She was staring down at her dead stag. Krypton touched her shoulder. She stepped back and turned. Sobbing in her hands." Hadaer." She whispered.Krypton still tried to put the face to a name. But could not. He merely sighed and lit the wood pedistal.

" Do you have a name?" Krypton asked abruptly. Bringing the elf out of her staring moment at the large flames.

" Maya." She whispered," My father is Leithcorius. The Heartwood master."

" I see, well I suppose I should get you home before he starts to worry."

Maya shook her head." He won't because he is too busy worrying about the countless deaths occuring in Faydwar. Many of his people are dying for a stupid war. " She explained.Glanced back at the burning stag body. Then smiled lightly at Krypton" But since I've on one else to escort me home. I would like to take you up on that offer."

" If you'd like." Krypton took a slight bow and lead her back to Pongo. He helped her up, then mounted himself.

" What is your name?" Maya asked. After moments of silence between the two.

Krypton for a second said nothing and looked up at the still fullmoon. He sighed," DaliaVega, Krypton DaliaVega." He introduced himself as.

Maya smiled." Well you have my thanks Sir Krypton DaliaVega. So is that your face? Or have you one under that bone?"

" I do have a face under this helmet. But you don't need to see it." Krypton said.

"Why not?" She asked.

" Because, if you see me, you will scream and try to run." He explained.

" What are you an orc or something?"

" No, I'm a dark elf."

" Then you do not have to worry about my screaming. You can be curtain about that." She said sweetly.

Krypton nodded slightly. " I will reveil myself to you....if you tell me why you let that stag fuck you."

Maya glared." I told you that is none of your concern." She snapped.

" Very well, then you don't get to see my face." He said as he pulled Pongo to a halt. In front of them was a wood elevator. They dismounted. Maya looked up and stepped on. Krypton following. Maya shouted a password in her language and the elevator was pulled up into the little village in a massive trees." Woodlen rats. Leave it to the Faydark to build homes that look down on the rest of us." Krypton muttered to himself.( I think that is what he says in the game. God I love the Dark Elf male's comments)

" Hush." Maya hissed as they reached the top. Krypton glanced around then stepped off behind Maya. And followed her along the boarded walkway. He looked at the elf gaurds watching him. He paused walk and looked at one elf. Who stared." Boo." Upon finishing he continued to follow Maya. Until they reached the throne of Leithcorious( If I keep spelling his name wrong. So fucking what. He is a pussy anyway.)

" Maya what in the name of Tunare are you...." He started standing.

"I was on a moonlit walk." She said." I was attacked by a band of orcs....and this brave knight saved my life."

Krypton took a slight bow. And glanced at the elf male staring at him right beside the throne. As the heartwood master approached," I thank you. Knight. If you would please remove your helmet. So I may thank you proporly." He requested.

Krypton immedaitely guessed what was going to happen. But he did as told. Taking in a deep breath, and lifted the helmet over his head.

" Dark elf!" Called the heartwood master." Be gone from here, fiend!"

Krypton smirked. And looked at Maya.She stared perplexed at him. He backed up and turned. Placing his helmet back on, he left. When he took to the elevator he could hear Maya yelling at her father.

" He saved your daughter's life and you go and cast him out without a reward!" Maya shouted.

Her father looked at her, and shook his head." Maya all dark elves are evil. I have fought many of them in my lifetime. Why should this drow be any different?"

Maya just glared at her father and turned to go to her hut to sleep. Leithcoruis sighed and shook his head." Something troubling you, father?" Asked his son, who stood beside the throne." She wil never see drow for what they really are." He muttered. Rubbing his forehead.

" No. She would not. She is still under the spell of the one you cast out five years ago. I told you, you should have had our champions hunt him down and slaughter him as well. One day the spell you placed upon him. Was to wear off. " The younger male elf said.

" Elgoian, my son, Tunare spoke to me once. That this would be repeated with her. I can not stop her destiny...." He trailed off as Commander Turane came running towards the throne, his armor, bloody.

" My king! The orcs and goblins have pushed us all the way here. They come for Maya!" He shouted.

" We must get her to safety. Elgoain find our most bravest and trusted...."

" We've none to summon. The bravest and strongest I hear is that dark elf you sent away, he carried the blade of a Shadow Knight, and wore the skull of a Dire Buck." He explained.

Liethcorious nodded slightly and waved his hand as much as he hated the dark elves. For Maya he was willing to put that aside.

" Engineer."He started to a scout near him.

" Sir?"

" See if you can catch up with the drow.Call him back. I will prepare my daughter for her journey." He explained.

Krypton just lightly rode Pongo. As he senced a presence. He pulled Pongo to a stop. Dismount. Withing a fluid motiong, threw his arm into the bushes and yanked out the elf who had followed. The tip of his sword rested against this throat." What do you want?" He asked firmly.

"Your ears are keen and your senses are the best I've seen. Thats good. I've a message from the Heartwood master." The scout, Engineer stated.

Krypton lifted an eyebrow and stared longer at the elf.
