Jealousy

Chapter 3: The Dance

(Riku POV)

I walk out of the room which 'my' Sora and that red-head bitch are in. I look down onto the ground, my hair covering my face -- this is where I thank God that I left my hair long. Ow! I bumped into someone, "Sorry," I mumble as I continued walking, I took, what, 1 or 2 steps? Before the same person grabbed my arm and I twirl around, "What the fuck is your problem?!" I growl out, looking up, it was none other than that bastard with the stupid blond hair -- today is not my lucky day.

"Whoa, someone's not in a good mood," That bastard! "Well I would be too if I saw what happened with Sora in that room, which I did see," I hate that smirk of his!

"Whatever," I shrug trying to weasle my way out, but that grip on my arm tightened -- shit he has a strong grip. I wince although I did not want to.

"You're not getting away that easily, not this time!" Cloud's eyes... they look so stern, that stuborn ass! I pull my arm away from him and turn around to walk back to my own room. "Your jealous aren't you, Riku? Jealous that the red-head took Sora away from you, isn't that right, Riku?" I stop suddenly, am I really jealous? I can't be! "That red-head took Sora away from you. So, Riku, what are you going about it?" I only shrug as I keep on walking, I swear I can almost 'feel' that smirk on the bastard's face!

I walk back to me and Sora's room, school's over anyways, and besides, I need some time to think some things over. I open the door and behind it I see that brown haired baka sprawled across the medium sized desk with papers pouring all over as I sigh -- Sora's still that same old messy idiot. I pull the extra blanket that I always keep just in case I'm cold -- or the stupid air conditioner decides to blow full blast -- and I lay it over Sora's sleeping form -- what? Am I supposed to pick him up and lay him on his bed? He can do that himself.

"Mmmm... But Riku, I can't carry all of this..." He shifts a bit -- that baka! He's thinking of me! But I do feel a bit happy... sorta... just a little bit... maybe. I walk to my bed that's beside Sora's and I sit down. Alot has happened today -- disincluding the homework -- Cloud's little warning, a stupid little fucking whore asking 'my' angel out, then a stupid speech from that damned Cloud again... I sigh. All this thinking is making me dizzy. Cloud told me I was jealous, am I really? Jealous that the stupid little red-head took 'my' cute Sora?

//"So, Riku, what are you going about it?"// I remember Coud asking me that question. So, what 'will' I do about this? They don't even know how I feel- that's it! What if I make Sora feel how I feel? Jealous, eh? That's what Cloud said, then I'll make Sora jealous of me! That's what I'll do. I have alot of planning ahead of me.

(Sora POV)

I wake up early in the morning. I look around, where am I? Huh? My desk? Did I fall asleep at my desk yesterday? Oh no! I forgot to ask Riku!! I get up hurridly -- I feel something slide down my back and I make a strangled yelp, trying not to wake up Riku -- the yelp sounds like a bird that swallowed a golf ball and is trying to chirp, that might sound awful funny. I look at what the thing was, it was a blanket...? It's Riku's extra blanket! Did he put this blanket on me when I was sleeping? I can feel myself blush, but I can't stop it. A wide smile finds my mouth. I fold the blanket nicely, I don't want Riku to get mad at me for trashing his stuff, he'd probably hate me for that, I don't want him to hate me. I walk over to his bed, he's sound asleep. I smile, he looks so pretty like that, like an angel or a blooming rose, so pretty.

His eyes open, I see his sea green eyes. I know I'm blushing hottly right now, "What do you want, Sora?" he grumbles, oh no! He's mad at me!!

"I-I'm sorry!!" I burst out automaticly.

"Huh?"

"For waking you up! I'm sorry!"

His laughter rumbles low as I blink at him, "You said sorry for that?" I know I'm blushing very, very red now, "Don't worry, it's fine."

"Um... here" I hand him the neatly fold blankets, "Thanks"

"No problem, you were dead asleep yesterday anyways. I thought that you would catch a cold if you didn't have a blanket over you" he smiled, I love that smile of his, it's such a generous and kind smile.

"Thanks... oh! And um... about before when Cloud and the others came, I wanted to ask you.. umm.. if you would want to go to the dance with me and Kairi... this red-head girl, it would be alot of fun with you around! ... well... that-that is if you... don't have anything else to do... that is..." I studder. I know Riku has a date already, he always does, every year, that's why I don't ask him, but this year... well... I don't really know what gave me the courage to ask him, but I'm happy that it's there.

"Sure, I'd love to come, I don't have anything else do to anyways," I am surprised, Riku doesn't have a date?!

I smile to cover up the shock, "Cool! It'll be so much fun!"

Tonight, I believe will be one of the best!

It's the Winter Holiday dance for us seniors, I'm waiting for Riku and Kairi to arrive-Riku kicked me out of our room saying that his outfit was a surprise. Even though I do love surprises... I don't like getting kicked out of my own room very much. I have on a dark green t-shirt that hugs me- but not too tight... I don't like tight clothing- it also leaves a strip of belly, showing my bellybutton- hey! My bellybutton needs some air sometimes too! Then I have on a leather jacket- Riku made me wear it, it's all heavy, but since it's Riku... I'll wear it for him. I also have on my favourite jeans, it has chains all around it and a really pretty belt. I added some accessories, a leather choker around my neck- the ones that make people look like a doggy. It's like they have a collar on them, but it's still pretty! I have on a chain necklace with the shape of a crown on it- my mother bought it for me, it's really, really special, like Riku special. I also have on a few bracelets, I like them.

"Hey Sora!" I see Kairi, she waves at me. I wave back. She looks very pretty in her dress. It has alot of frills- I love frills- and it's all sparkling orange, the perfect colour to match her pretty hair.

"You look really, really pretty Kairi," I complement with a smile.

I suddenly see Riku. He walks towards us, many people make way for him, he looks amazing. Even more prettier than Kairi. He has on a pair of tight leather pants with a black t-shirt that's really really tight on him - you can see every single muscle on him, he's very very strong -- I remember him picking me up two months ago when I had hurt my ankle in Phys. Ed. Riku's so nice. Ontop of the t-shirt, he has on a leather jacket similar to mine, and alot of bracelets and chain necklaces, too many to count!

"Wow..." I manage to say, "Riku... you look really, really, really, super cool!" I smile as I hug my best friend.

"Thanks," he hugs me back, I almost melt in his embrace, he's so warm, I mentally kick myself, this is no time to daydream!

"So, you're Riku," Kairi says with a nice smile. I smile back at her and let go of Riku.

"That's my name, don't wear it out," Riku winks at her, I'm almost jealous, but it's ok, we're all friends... right?

Kairi giggles, I hear her giggle all the time, sometimes I think it's very very annoying, but it's not nice to say something like that so I keep it to myself. I link my right arm around Kairi's and my left arm around Riku's. I skip forwards, pulling both of them along, "C'mon! You both let me wait here and now I'm getting impatient! I wanna go dance already!!"

The music is turned up really really loud. I can hardly hear myself think, but that's ok, cause I like loud music, it's always so much fun. We all dance together, I know I'm smiling really wide now, who wouldn't? I mean, I'm dancing with Riku, yanno 'Riku' as in 'the guy that always has a date for a dance who is also my best friend, but I know I have a crush on him' Riku. Oops... did I say I have a crush on him? Oh well, that's alright. The bass is really louding, it's making my heart boom, it's such a tickle-ish feeling. I notice I'm only dancing with Kairi now and I ask her, "Where's Riku?"

"What? I can't hear you!" she yells really loudly, even I can hear that.

I talk a bit louder, "Where's Riku?"

"Sorry, Sora! I still can't hear you!" she yells even louder now, people are looking at us now.

I sigh, maybe if I say it in her ear, she'll hear it. I go close to her hear and I say, "Where's Riku?"

She's blushing really, really red again now, I don't know why. Well it's not my fault that she can't hear me. She yells above the music, "I don't know, he just sort of left!"

I only nod as I talk back in her ear again, "I'm going to see if I can find him, ok? It's no fun with only two people" I pull back from her ear. I stick out my tongue in a goofy way.

"W-wait! I'll go with you!" she says. I pretend I didn't hear her, but I know that I heard her perfectly well. I just didn't really want to dance with Kairi... let's just say... she's not the best dancer in the world... But I don't want to be mean to her, I still don't know her that well. I think she stopped following me, cause I don't hear her voice anymore. I skip to a near wall where I can see most of the people who are dancing. I see Kairi again. She's dancing with someone. I look closer... Riku...? Kairi is dancing with Riku?! I have to thank Riku sometime, he saved my life! If it wasn't for him, I would have still been chased by her --

"You lonely... Sora?" I recognize that voice, I turn around. I know a smile is on my lips right now. I'm facing my ex-boyfriend, I know, most would not have a smile on their faces if they saw their Ex here, but our relationship is a bit different. I'm too lazy to explain, remind me to explain later, alright? He's also known as 'the guy with the really retarded and stupid blond hair' but he's only referred to that by Riku. He reaches a hand out to me, "Care to dance?"

I take the hand. I know I'm smiling really really wide now. The song changes, it's one of those love songs, the ones that are slow with a strong bass. I weave my arms around his neck. He places them around me waist, it's been a really long time since he has done that, he always feels so warm. We both sway to the music. I close my eyes, just enjoying the moment, I know I shouldn't be doing this, since the one I really like now is Riku, but that's ok, I guess I'll make today an exception. And besides, Riku seems to be enjoying himself dancing with Kairi, I don't want to disturb them, I might get them both mad. I don't want that to happen. The song slowly fades away and I open my eyes again. I look around seeing most eyes on me and Cloud. I hear whispers about me, I blush bright red. I bet they can write a while biography about me... someone actually did that once... it was scary to have a biography written about you, but it was nonetheless really well written, I liked it. Someone else wrote one about Riku. I always joke about it, that someone would actually want to write a biography about him, but he's never hurt by it. That's what I like about him, he doesn't take a joke seriously -- he never takes anything seriously.

"Thanks... for the dance" I say. It was very fun.

"Anything for you," Cloud winks, I know I'm blushing even the faintest blush, but that's ok, sometimes, one can't help it... or stop it, "It's the last song of the night" he states.

"Already?!" I say, is it really that short of a time, I thought we planned it to be from 7 pm to 2 am!

"You haven't danced enough? C'mon, I'll dance the last one with you, ok?" Cloud smiles, I like that smile, it's so similar to Riku's, so kind and generous, just like him. I nod, the last song is also a slow one, but not sad. It's a happy song, I like this song very much, though I do not know what song it is. We're dancing together again, I lay my head on his chest, it's not as muscular as Riku's -- Riku has alot of muscles. I'm at least a head shorter than Cloud -- what can I say? I'm short for my age...? I close my eyes and start humming along with the song, the melody is so easy to figure out.

Once the song is over, I let go of Cloud and he does to same to me, the DJ announces that that was the last song of the night and calls a nice 'goodnight' to everyone. People filed out of the room, I follow Cloud out. I haven't seen Riku or Kairi, I forgot about them! I sigh, oh well, I'll see them in classes the next day anyways... wait... we get a day off... ok... then the day after that... or something, I'll see them, I know so. And I can't forget to thank Riku for stopping Kairi from chasing me. I yawn. Tonight has really been a good night. It was so much fun, but I know that I am tired. I walk back to my room and sleep, good thoughts of today fills my head.

"Goodnight" I murmur before I sleep.
