The young man traveled down the long, winding road, accompanied by only the rain and his bo.
Several months had passed since the loss of someone near and dear to him. He couldn’t believe it. Out of the trio, he had always figured her to be the last to fall; instead, she was the first.
The fight had been brief, but viscious. Nightmare had somehow separated them and they met back up moments before…

*Kilik, I can take him!*
*Xianghua, NO!*
Kilik fought back tears. Chai Xianghua was one of the best friends and lover a man could ask for.

The young warrior stopped at an inn to rest. The innkeeper pointed him to an uninhabited room and left him alone to wander in his melancholy.
Kilik stretched out on the floor and resumed thinking about his lost lover. Tears came to his eyes as he thought about the night prior to the fatal battle.

*Kilik, I love you…I want to spend the rest of my life with you.*

*I love you too, Xianghua, and once the dust settles and peace is restored, we will be together…*

*Will we start a family?*

Kilik thought about the good times they had together—making Maxi drunk, teasing Maxi because he was drunk, playing practical jokes on him…

There was one time that the trio was traveling in the forest and stopped to rest besides a stream. Kilik and Xianghua had slipped a minnow in Maxi’s pants when he had fallen asleep…The pirate’s reaction had been incredibly hilario

He thought about the first time they had made love. Neither knew how it happened, only that it did and it felt…right.

The night had been cool and clear, the stars showing through the trees. Kilik and Xianghua opted to take a walk instead of sitting down. At Maxi’s suggestion, they left the village into the woods.

*It’s so beautiful out here…*

*Yes it is…* Kilik wrapped his arms around Xianghua and pulled her close. The woman was caught off guard at first, but allowed herself this moment of bliss.

Kilik turned Xianghua’s face up to his and kissed her passionately. Not breaking the kiss, he pulled her down with him to the dry ground.

Jolted back to the present, Kilik’s eyes began to tear up. He lay there on the bed, staring up at the ceiling. “Xianghua…I miss you so much…” The man sat up and stared out the window. “What I wouldn’t give just to hold you again…”

A knock sounded at the door. “Come in…”

The innkeeper peeked his head in. “There’s someone to see you, sir.”

“I’m not in the mood to see anyone; thank you.” Kilik waved the man away. The The keeper refused to budge. “She says it’s important.”

Kilik sighed. “Show her in then…” He believed this woman to be a messenger from his temple, bearing news of some evil about to destroy something…He turned.

“Kilik…” The woman smiled peacefully. “It's me."
