Christmas Extra
A/N: Merry Christmas! Remember this story! I do! You don’t? Oh well! Here’s the epilogue, in RL time too!! AMAZING! If you didn’t like the ending forgive me. If you hate the epilogue forgive me. But if it all ended coming up roses it wouldn’t be what I want to be. Life doesn’t end that way so neither does my non-fantasy fiction. Sorry…. V_V
It’s all done in dialogue, sorry.
‘The New Me – Christmas Calling’
“SORA!!! PHONE!!!”
“…Hello?”
“Hey, Sora!”
“Hi, Leon. Merry Christmas!”
“Merry Christmas…Sorry you couldn’t make it back to town for a visit.”
“Yea, but, Mom says I can come for the start of summer.”
“Really? … ‘Hey who’s on the phone’ She’s gonna allow that? ‘Hey, Leon!’”
“Yea she’s goinig…is someone else there.”
“Just Yuffie…Go away Yuffie.”
“Hey SORA! That you! Leon, share the phone!”
“Hi, Yuffie! Merry Christmas!”
“Go away, Yuffie!”
“SHARE LEON! SHARE! DIDN’T YOU FATEHR TEACH YOU ANYTHING!”
“Yuffie, if you break my phone I swear!”
“Leon, its ok I’ll talk to Yuffie.”
“No its fine she’s gone now.”
“Ok.”
“So, how’s everything?”
“Great! Today was our last day of school.”
“So close to Christmas?”
“Winter breaks are short on the islands apparently…”
“Wow…wait? What was that?”
“I remembered there was another phone! Hi, Sora!”
“Hi, Yuffie!”
“So what’s it like without snow for winter!”
“Crazy! I had to trade most of my snow close for shorts! Kids picked on me for wearing the same stuff over again.”
“Want me to rough them up?”
“Yuffie, Sora’s a big boy now remember.”
“I am?”
“Don’t mind Leon, he’s all ‘Mother Hen’ since Aerith got engaged.”
“…I can’t believe that happened…I missed a lot in just one semester.”
“Yea…”
“So how’s Cloud with that?”
“He’s emo about it.”
“I think he and Leon swapped personalities…or maybe Aerith’s fiancé is actually a pod person…he kind of reminds me of Cloud…”
“She said she knew him from before she knew us, remember?”
“Yea well, Cloud spends most of his time down at Tifa’s place now. He’s ditched us for Busty-Mc-Bummble-Bee.”
“Yuffie!”
“What, she had a part time gig at the Honey Bee Inn. I can make jokes.”
“…Yuffie…maybe you should be more accepting of Cloud’s new life…after all, everyone changes.”
“Yea, just look at us.”
“Six months a go we were bumming around Traverse Town…”
“Now I live in the islands.”
“Aerith’s running off with an old flame…”
“Cloud’s ducking out with a childhood friend…”
“…What about Cid?”
“Hm?”
“What about Cid, Leon? Does he still come by your place?”
“Only on weekends now…he got a huge deal with the Shinra Corp. Engineering.”
“So…everyone’s life is changing…”
“Yep…”
“Yea…”
“… … …OK! Good news form you guys! Please!”
“Well…things are going well with Irvine and myself.”
“That’s good!”
“How are things with you and Riku?”
“Good.”
“That was half hearted.”
“Well…things with everyone are fine…but every now and again Kairi’s very openly sarcastic and biting in her comments toward me…Riku just lets it slide…”
“So he’s giving her leeway.”
“They are best friends…”
“You’re his boyfriend. Demand he stick up for you.”
“Hey I’m happy just so long as no rocks are being thrown.”
“…Is that supposed to be a JOKE!?”
“Haha?”
“Sora, that’s not funny! Let’s not joke about that ok?”
“…Ok…”
“Well….this conversation has bombed horribly.”
“I guess in the past six months we’ve done a lot of changing…”
“It doesn’t seem like that much time…Leon?”
“Yes, Yuffie?”
“Does this mean you and I will grow apart over the winter? Will you ditch me for Irvine?”
“…Yes.”
“OH, LEON!”
“Hahahahaaaheheheha!”
“No, Yuffie. I’ll make sure you and I stay close…and don’t worry. Aerith and Cloud will come back. I hope.”
“I’m sorry for all this guys…I wish we could be together for the holidays….”
“Don’t worry, we’ll have the summer.”
“Yea… …”
“Well, I guess I should get going…”
“We’ll talk to you again soon, Sora.”
“We’ll call you during the start of the new year!”
“Thanks, Yuffie. Thanks, Leon. Have a good Christmas guys.”
“Bye, SORA!”
“ ‘Night, Sora.”
“Hey, Mom. I’m gonna use the phone a little longer.”
“Ok! But don’t stay up to late!”
“Hello?”
“Hey is Riku there?”
“Sure thing…HEY RI-KU! YOUR HONEY’S ON THE PHONE!!”
“Gim’me the phone Touya!”
“Aww, does ‘wittle Riku want the phone? Does he? Does he? Ask for it. Ask!”
“…uh guys….?”
“Hey, Sora! Sorry…My bro came home today.”
“Heheh, its ok.”
“So what’s up?”
“Nothing really, I just wanted to wish you good night.”
“Ah, well you want to talk a little first?”
“Ok.”
“So…what are you wearing?”
“That’s not talk.”
“Ok, ok. So you want to go out tomorrow?”
“Go out where? We’ve been everywhere we can go?”
“Not the most Northern Island.”
“What’s there?”
“A hang out for seniors from the high school.”
“…But, you’re the only senior in the group.”
“But you’re dating the only senior in the group.”
“Riku…what kind of place is this.”
“It’s like our island, but with electricity and a dance floor. They’re holding a Christmas bash for all seniors and all the returning college kids.”
“So it’s an 18 and up kind of deal.”
“It will be fun.”
“What about the gang?”
“We’ll hang with them the day after Christmas.”
“Riku!”
“What?”
“Let’s do something as a group ok?”
“Why? Just today you said you needed some space from the group.”
‘What I need is space from Kairi…’
“Huh?”
“Nothing. Look, Riku…I just don’t want your-our group to grow apart. Let’s you and me do something after Christmas…but before, let’s all stick together ok.”
“Ok…what’s gotten into you?”
“Nothing…I guess…I just don’t want things to get so different that everyone grows apart.”
“But that’s what happens. People grow up, you do different things. Tidus and Wakka spend most of their time at ball practice. And Selphie hangs out with Naminé’s friends on the weekdays.”
“I know.”
“So why the sudden change of pace?”
“…I just learned my old friend’s don’t hang out as much anymore…”
“Oh.”
“Everything had been fine until the initial change…”
“You’re leaving… … …Sora, you won’t break up this group and you didn’t break up your other one.”
“…ok…”
“…Sora?”
“Yeah?”
“I love you, Babe.”
“Heh…I love you too.”
“And you and I are stuck together. Understand?”
“Understood.”
“We could eat a Pa-”
“No! Not another one! If I eat one more I’ll get sick!”
“You thought it was cute the first time.”
“The first time! Now I’ve eaten enough to be stuck with you long after I die!”
“Well I hope to see you in the next life too!”
“Heh…Riku…”
“Yes, Sora?”
“I love you.”
“I love you too. So I’ll come get you tomorrow.”
“Ok. Goodnight, Riku.”
“Goodnight, Sora.”
“I’m going to bed, Mom!”
“OK, honey! Goodnight!”
‘Ahh…I hope the gang gets back together by the time summer rolls around…I’d really hate for everyone to change, just because of me. But I guess the guys are right…that’s what life is…changing and growing apart…’
‘I just hope the New Year brings better changes.’
It’s all done in dialogue, sorry.
