Chapter 25
Phone was ringing. At last, someone reporting back. It was about time, it had been several hours since he asked the guy to look into it! If the guy wasn't a lazy slob, there'd better be some useful information for him now. With a deep breath, he lifted the receiver. "Hello?" He growled.
"Good evening, Mishima-sama," came the cheerful voice. "I have an update for you."
Well, anything less would have brought punishment. "Of course. What's new?" He asked, the annoyance obvious in his voice.
The mole sounded unfazed as he kept the enthusiasm up. "First of all, your son had Baek-san's boy swallow a tracking device. They think he will lead them somewhere crucial, like to your headquarters in Japan or something along those lines."
He should have expected something like that. Thankfully, Hwoarang didn't know the first thing about any secrets in Japan, but he'd have to warn Baek, just in case. "I see," he continued in a calmer voice, "I guess that means they plan to let him leave at some point. What else have you found out?"
"Right now I think it'll be difficult for Hwoarang to make any serious progress. The security has been stepped up around him - though the timing is a bit suspicious - he now is always in the company of a guard." The mole paused and made a thinking sound. "But you know where I stand on this. I don't buy it for a second."
Kazuya blinked a few times. "Obviously, if they want him to lead them somewhere, they have to let him escape." He paused, and sighed. "Is that what you mean, or is there something more to it in your opinion?"
"They've already let him out once, right after he swallowed it, but it's possible they'll let him have another field trip on his own."
"I see." The Mishima grazed his chin in thought. In all likelihood, that trip only led them to Baek, so he was rather sure they would let Hwoarang go again. "If that's all, I want you to lay low for a while. But make sure to contact me if you find out something important."
There was a light friendly chuckle. "As you wish, Mishima-sama. Have a nice day!"

Where the Hell was he?!
Too busy for lunch, or was there something else that caused this? Hwoarang was not happy. Jin had stood him up! After running into that Korean actor, this was not helping to put his worries to rest. It was doing the opposite in fact, and now he was having trouble keeping his paranoia down to a minimum.
Their feelings were mutual! Kazama liked him! So why was it so hard to convince himself that was true? There was always one option; ask the man himself, and that was bound to dispel any doubts. Well, he couldn't ask with people around because of the stupid fear of moles, but at least he could confirm that Jin did, in fact, have a good reason for backing out of the one thing he had been looking forward to all frickin day.
Hwoarang set out, his shadow guard in tow, and spent the next ten minutes exploring the Zaibatsu - where he was allowed in, anyway - and searching for the master of the place. It was a relief when he came to the audience room and overheard someone talking about Jin being in there. He had thought Jin chose his own times to give audiences, but maybe... Just maybe there was a good reason.
He went in through the door, into the small room where another guard was. For whatever reason, nobody decided to stop him, so he continued on through to the throne room and grinned when he spotted his dream man sitting in the throne. "Hey, Kazama! What's so important here, huh?"
There was no sign of the Japanese giving him any attention. Instead, his gaze remained focused on the kneeling man in front of him. "Good. Tell the Russians we'll accept that offer, and make sure they get paid when the missile shipment arrives."
Missile shipment? Oh great, he was dealing with that whole world domination thing again. Of all the people he had to want, why did it have to be a tyrant? Well, dictator or not, Hwoarang didn't like being ignored. He crossed his arms and glanced impatiently at the other people in the room. "Oh good, more tools to kill people with. Are you finished now?"
Jin turned his head, treating the redhead to a scowl. "Ssshhh..." He said in an annoyed tone, then made an arrogant gesture with his hand. Apparently, that was taken as a signal, as his shadow guard laid a hand on Hwoarang's shoulder, nudging him towards where they came from.
"Don't fucking touch me." Hwoarang jerked away from the guard and then stomped toward the door. Insult and offense made his movements stiff. So was this it? Jin had his fun and now was moving on to more exciting things like fucking actors and committing random murders all around the world? Hwoarang growled to himself and left the throne room, cursing in his mother tongue along the way. If Jin was bored of him, then fine! He had better places to be anyway!
