Chapter 2A

"He was so fucked up," Ashley said, nearly shivering with rage and lingering fear. "I know we hurt him, but how could he hate us so much?"

Chris nodded. He could still feel the hot ice of betrayal burning through his veins at thought of it. Even the uncharacteristic curse from Ashley set him further on edge.

"It feels like he went out of his way to hurt you and me more than anyone else... the traps... the choices... He really wanted to torture us..." Ashley said, quickly degenerating into sobbing and shaking, her voice falling into an unintelligible warble.

Chris walked over to the bed, holding her softly to comfort her while she let loose her tears. He was glad Mike had separated him from Josh. After seeing what he did to Ash, he wanted to kill the bastard.

Finally, she broke away and looked at him, still clutching his shirt as he dried her tears.
