Chapter One : Simulated Emotions
"- but then when you gave me the rights to -"
" Jesus Matt, if I knew you would go on like this I would have waited until after we saved humanity." The boss had said in her normal uppity tone while meeting a Warden blow for blow, sneering at him when he growled, throwing trucks when he attempted to pound the ground. You know, Boss shit.
"I'm sorry, I just appreciate gifts. You didn't give me the rights becase we -"
"Matt!" Looking to the sky as if he could see her, and maybe he could, she was caught off gaurd by another ground smash throwing her though she gracefully recovered she mentally swore. "Look, we can talk about it when I get back to the ship, for now, let me fight the damn Warden!" She had half scolded before unloading several rounds into it.
"Sorry." Came the meek reply before she was allowed to fight the Warden in peace. Well if you can call screaming pedestrians, cars being thrown and trading blows with something the size of the Hulk peace.
After the rush that came with absorbing the Wardens she had considered going back to the ship to get this conversation off the table, but instead opted to ignore any emotional maturity in favor of saving humanity. A damn good excuse should you ask her. And well, it was right? This asslord needed his ass beaten and humanity needed to get out of that nasty fucking.... wait... what was that space kool-aid? TANG! Yes Tang, they needed to be freed from the Tang.
Sadly focus wasn't one of her strong points and she had headed out to take care of some of the missions handed down to her from the rest of the crew until at last she had worn herself out and forgotten about the talk she had promissed Matt. He however, did not forget. Matt had been waiting for her when she left the simulation with a warm cup of coffee, something that she found odd but reluctantly took it. "Thanks Matt. You feelin okay?"
"Y-yeah. We were gonna have a-"
"Talk, shit. I forgot about that." She had said trying not to sound like she had been avoiding getting around to it. "No, I didn't give you the rights to Nyte Blade because we had sex. That was a sort of casual thing. I gaveyou the rights because you seem to like it. Go nuts, have fun, but like I said, don't you ever stop." It was almost a threat the way she had said it, but leaned on the table and drank from her cup. It had been a week since they fucked anyhow. How long was he gonna cling to this? Sure she thought he was attractive in a real weird way, sort of had an ass, scrawny, knew what he was doing and willing. Hell, with the end of humanity that's all you honestly needed right? Okay, well it's all she needed.
"So does this mean we're-"
"MATT." The boss had nearly gotten away, he had only started to ask when she had began to turn away from him.
"What?! I need to know!" He had answered her back catching her a bit off gaurd.
"We're friends, Matt. It was once, you're cute or I wouldn't have done it, but we're still just friends." She had said as she looked at him, gaze locked with his with the bandage on her nose the only thing breaking her looks, though she had the cutest freckles-
Matt had caught himself staring and looked down at her feet. "Alright."
DAMN. Why did he have to look like she had just kicked his puppy? Ugh. She both loved and hated this man.
"Listen, we can talk about this once we finish saving the world, er, well humanity." Her bad.
"I'll keep you to it." Matt answered as she left the room, kicking nothing in frustration.
