Lady Grey paced the stone floors of her spacious bedroom wracked with tension and trepidation; a group of merchants that had been traveling through Oakwood had informed the guards of Bowerstone that they had seen Hood and a troop of his bandit guards leaving Darkwood and moving in this direction. Lady Grey shivered at the thought of that lout coming to her town, and if the last few times this had happened were anything to go by, he was dropping by to nail his wife.

 

It had been a day and a half since the report had come in and she prayed this was not his destination. A rapping at her chamber door snapped her from her stewing as she beckoned the visitor enter, a guard opening the door and bowing his head to her, the mayor, in respect.



“My Lady, you have a... err... guest” he announced as the colour drained from her face in dread acceptance of the situation, a looming, muscular shadow appearing from behind the guard. Hood always enjoyed the company of his 'dear' wife and the thought alone always got him riled, he had stripped himself bare on his way to Lady Grey's chamber, casting his clothes about the manor: it was his home too, by marriage at least.
