Light in the Abyss
The dark halls echoed with the sound of fevered footsteps. ”We must hurry!” cried the princess Alicia as she and her companions raced ever forward into Lezard’s domain. “I sense the power of the Valkyrie growing weaker,” growled Brahms. The powerful stride made by his undead demon legs left claw marks in the marbled floors. “Just great,” Arngrim sarcastically added, “not only are we short two Valkyrie’s help we also got to fight a lunatic with the power of Gunghir.” Rufus said nothing amidst the exchange of words. The ordeal of having his soul displaced from his body by Lezard left him in an indignant mood. He clenched his jaw and with a steeled determination in his eyes quickened his pace. His forest green hair whipped violently in the air as he overtook the entire group. They all knew it wouldn’t be long before they would clash with the maniacal mage and there was no time to waste. Midgard was on the brink of annihilation and Silmeria and Hrist were rendered powerless by the Sovereign’s Rite; their souls fading as well. Alicia watched as her friends continued onward. She was not as fast as the others but she was able to keep pace. Deep in her mind she thought of Silmeria. Having the Valkyrie forced form her body was devastating. It was like losing a part of her being. As long as she could remember Silmeria was there, like a sister. Guiding, encouraging her, even when her father had forsaken and forced her from the kingdom of Dipan. Losing both her mother and father from the events that followed tore whatever remaining hopes she had and turned them into a bitter despair. Now more than ever she wished Silmeria could be at her side. “Hey,” the sound of Rufus’s voice roused Alicia from her contemplation, “don’t space out on me now.” Alicia looked up to see Rufus who was still running at full speed; his neck was half turned grinning back at her. That smile she thought. How could she forget, she was not alone anymore, the bond between her and Rufus had grown ever stronger. The pain and suffering they endured brought them closer to each other. Now Alicia could feel that same determination emanating from Rufus. It was her beacon of light in the abyss. A revelation began to take hold of Alicia. This wasn’t just about her anymore. It was about all of them; it was about the entire world. Her mind set and hope renewed she gave a quick nod to Rufus to acknowledged the shared strength among them all. “Good,” Rufus exclaimed as his gaze returned to the corridor ahead of them. A small glimmer of light could be seen and low tone was resonating from afar. This was it… TBC ~*~ This chapter is halfway done, oh sorry I haven't gotten to the steamy part yet. But its coming. I swear. I spent the better part of last night looking through VP1 and VP2 sound files for the following chapters, so I will be listing any music you may want to listen to in (). If you don't have the OST you can find the songs on youtube. Anyway quick note, I prefer you think of Arngrim's and Brahm's voice actors from VP 1 instead of 2. I just think they had more passion in there deliverance than from VP2.
