The Present

(2036)

“Sleeping again, Ms. Tokugawa. You should stop going through files and take a break.” Yoko chuckled as the young woman moved herself from her desk. The young woman had pale brown hair with reddish tips. Her hair was cut short and she had worn glasses. Wearing a light purple business suit, the woman stretched her arms. “It has been my third week working here and all I have been doing is research. This church is just suspicious to me enough and I am not even Catholic.” The woman complained with a yawn.

“Oh Nanase, you are terrible. Besides, it isn’t that boring working around here. You get to learn something new every day.” Yoko sat down in the empty chair on wheels and rolled herself to the file cabinet. “Your ancestor used to be a part of this church so you will find something.” She added. Nanase sighed and grabbed a book that she had retrieved from the library a few days ago. “Vampires…demons…blah blah, my ancestor was a servant to one of those beings. I guess his name was Dracula or whatever. It happened around the late 1400s.” Nanase spoke as she began to flip through the pages of history.

“So that female was weak-minded then. Many people would fall to being a pet or a slave to any man back then.” Genya walked into the office without a notice. His pale skin displayed through the black suit he had on. “And yet you say that many women back then were pathetic-allowing anything to happen to them. Am I correct?” Nanase countered sarcastically. She gave the older male a glare for a slight moment and looked back at the book. “I have no faith in an religion and yet I am stuck trying to figure out why I have visions of demonic mess.” Nanase spat out ignorantly.

The two did not get along on a personal level and Yoko was the medium for everyone to work together. “I want to see the truth and why there are cultist freaks around.” Nanase turned to Genya. His grey eyes closed as he did not want to deal with anymore of the woman’s rudeness. “You know the hangouts, why don’t you go find the ones who might be involved?” Yoko said cheerfully. “And have a chance of possibly getting assaulted? You better give me a gun to shoot one or two.” Nanase stood up. “She’s just like that woman…and yet…that woman never died.” Genya thought to himself as he had his attention on her. “The Hakuba Shrine could receive another visit.” Yoko suggested. “That sounds better.” Nanase smiled happily. “I’ll be on my way.” She excused herself and headed out the door. "Looks like you're driving this time." Yoko tossed the keys to Genya before leaving.

“She was only such a woman that belonged to the faith that she had never died or was proven to exist.” Nanase thought as she had fallen asleep in the back of the car. The three were riding down the highway, and Genya was the driver. “That woman Violet Rose. Tell me something that you are keeping from this girl.” Yoko was interested. “That Violet Rose woman did exist, but the problem is that she had never died nor is her pre-existence liable. She used to be a servant to Castlevania. Neither evil or good, the young woman had resisted becoming a vampire-however, her ties to humanity were fragile.” Genya explained. “Looks like you have kept up in history.” Yoko complimented with a chuckle. “I had grown fond of that woman.” Genya thought as he kept his eyes on the road, “And Nanase is the embodiment of what Violet Rose is now. Even her holy powers have transferred to this woman’s body.” It had only taken half an hour to reach the Hakuba Shrine.
